This was a decent series, good view into 18th century living and warfare. Not many series or movies about French and Indian war. Some goof ups...British salute like North American armies with a closed hand, Brits/Aussies are famous for the open salute. The term LOOtenant is used...again North American.... Brits say LEFTenant. Understandable the series is Canadian, so the North American usage is expected, but not authentic given all of North America during this time was European dominated. But fun, exciting and good cast of actors. Well worth the watch, and many thanks for posting!
James Fenmore Cooper. Almost impossible to read due to the style of writing in his day. However Natty Bumpo is quite a dynamic fictional figure and has nothing to do with comic books or TV shows.
The Deerslayer is on Audio Books...it was difficult to listen! It was hard to get a visual and let the story flow

HAWKEYE was a 24-episode, single-season TV show that aired during 1994-1995.
Really liked this series...thought it had potential, but they failed to live up to it. Still think the theme song is terrific, though.

@@Placard1203 Yes...captures the wildness of a new and unconquered country which kind of makes you hold your breath in awe, then slides into a military drumbeat that gets your pulse rising. Fitting for the time it's set in. Always thought it was very beautiful.
