OBS is having a problem I think with its updates. They're deactivating certain settings which prevent the video capture. Either that or the Windows updates must be affecting the USB or HDMI drivers. It's a software issue. It's not your capture card, hdmi cable, usb outlet, etc.
There is another way: create scene where you will include camera. Then in other scenes do not add camera but newly created scene that contains camera. That way you will never be in situation to try to include camera which is already used (and locked). New scene would also offer you new possibilities like setting filters or other adjustments or adding overlays on top of camera and that would be visible in all other scenes.
Previously this was my issue and you are correct with this solution. However after moving houses, and plugging everything in. within the Logitech gaming software, the camera is visible and changes can be made though it does not display in OBS.
I can seem to figure out how to show my webcam on the screen. I have 1 scene, 1 mic, 1 browser display, and 1 video capture device. My webcam is on and I can see myself in video capture properties, but for some reason it won’t show on my screen. Do you have any suggestions?
That happens me all the time then I change to any other camera from the properties and then back to one I want working. That is how the software recognize my camera again.
@@Wibombe I finally figured it out. Now my problem is trying to figure out how to record in mp4 where it will let me open the file. It seems to only sound good in flv and doesn’t convert well to mp4. I plan to edit and upload to RUclips but can’t seem to make OBS work properly. When I download in mp4 the file loses sound about 4 seconds into the video. Everyone talks about how great this software is but I’ve wasted days on this and still can’t figure it out.

WOW... You are the GOAT, thank you so much, sir! I was getting quite pissed as normally i can solve these things, yet this one had me all fuckered up.
what if the device is showing up where you select it?
I have only one scene. But my cameras keep disappearing. I have to remove it and add it again to make it work. This shouldn't be.
i have problem that when i pick my cam it just dont show and i cant set to it
