I never had that exact problem. But one thing that often helps in OBS is to go into the camera's properties in OBS, select a different camera, then select the original again. That often clears it up for me.

In the video options in Zoom, you can check and uncheck "Mirror my video". Other apps don't always have this, but I believe Teams is working on it.
Solution: Camera doesn't work if you are trying to use it in multiple applications at once. For example, selecting your camera in discord while having your camera selected for teams.
I am on a Mac. My OBS works fine on Firefox. It does not work on Chrome. I have selected and set OBS as the default camera source in Chrome settings from the dropdown list. OBS has the proper permissions in Mac Settings. However, any website I want to stream to is locked on Facetime camera does not give me the option to change or it does not use the OBS default. What can I do? Nobody on the internet has this issue it seems...

I'm not familiar with that error. But since you mention "virtual cam", you may be talking about the old plugin. It's no longer needed in OBS 27 and newer.

I have had a problem with OBS "hijacking" my Zoom video start. When I join Zoom and enable video, the result is a blank screen. I checked the camera choices, and the only camera shown is "OBS virtual camera". I did not have OBS running. I tried the windows troubleshooter to check for problems the integrated camera might have, and got a message it was not found. Checked Device Manager, and there was no camera in the list of devices. After leaving Zoom, still no integrated camera. Only a computer restart would get it back. I originally installed OBS studio about a year ago, and decided it was more trouble than it was worth for the simple project of transferring a home video from tape to digital. Is it running in the background, and how would I stop that?

@ Found another video and it says it's the update and all I have to do is wait for Virtual Camera to get an update that makes it work with the new version of OBS.
@ No Markus. Its a greenish distorted filter like overlay that appears automatically in Zoom or Teams when you select virtual camera on OBS. Very annoying.

that's not the "doesn't load" problem i have. mine genuinely doesn't load at all. discord constantly tries to load it, facebook immediately spits out an error, my camera app doesn't even recognize it as a source i don't understand what's going on and this same problem affects one of my capture cards as well, but oddly enough, OBS can load that capture card just fine

Wow, what a weird problem! That's one I haven't experienced with the Virtual Camera.
Please Help. My Facebook "Messenger" Camera is overtaken by OBS Virtual Camera Setting and not working. (1) I changed the Messenger Camera setting to my LenovoEasyCamera, but the OBS V Camera takes it back and not working. (2) I used regedit ..>.. >.. EnableFrameServerMode ... not working (3) I uninstalled OBS studio ... not working. (4) I used ProgramFiles>obs-studio>Data>obs-plugins>win-dshow > virtualcam-uninstall.bat .... still not working ... (5) I tried the tips in your video ... not working on Facebook Messenger ... Please Help !!!

I never had that particular problem, so I can't help. But I guess if it's not working in the Messenger app on Windows, then try it in a web browser.

For me the problem # 1 is still an issue. Under Help I do not see "Crash Reports" and "Check for updates" like what is shown. I installed from the ubuntu repository and I got version 27.2.4, please any help will be really appreciated.
