The Mask is pretty fun & wacky too!
I couldn’t get into Ace Ventura but willing to give it another go if you watch it.
You said you couldn't imagine what it's like to see the ending of that show and then had the exact response the guards had "well that's the movie" lol
One of the ways the control Truman is setting his "world" in a different decade. Not only are there no cell phones or internet, Truman doesn't know about their existence. He has no knowledge of technology even remotely close to what would be needed for this level of production. The time period also helps keep Truman's world small.
The Truman Show received 3 Oscar nominations: Best Director, Best Original Screenplay, & Best Supporting Actor for Ed Harris’ performance as Christof, the show’s creator & executive producer. It also received 6 Golden Globe nominations, winning 3 for Best Actor (Jim Carrey), Best Supporting Actor (Ed Harris) & Best Original Score.
This is one of Jim Carrey's greatest movies ever. Such a masterpiece!! One of my favorite movies. So poetic! Great reaction my guy!
Fun fact: Jim Carrey & Ed Harris never met during filming.
The guy who wrote "The Truman Show," Andrew Niccol, also wrote and directed "GATTACA," another fantastic film.

A similar movie I recommend you check out is Pleasantville starring Tobey Maguire & Reese Witherspoon. You’d enjoy that one too!

Since you asked for *Jim* *Carrey* movie suggestions... THE MASK (1994) is a solid, zany comedy. His best, though, isn't really a comedy at all, it's a sci-fi/drama/romance called ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND (2004). The first very first thing I noticed him in, and he had only a very tiny role in it, was a time travel tale called PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED (1986). It's another one that's got a great blend of humor with profundity, directed by the great Francis Ford Coppola.
Haven’t seen this is forever. Great reaction and edits. HAHA. And the Alyssa Edwards appearance! HA. Nice. 👍🏽
If you're looking for an interesting movie to watch, check out 1983's Sleepaway Camp. Avoid spoilers, don't even look up a poster. Guaranteed reaction gold.

@@mattyreactsNot quite sure my comment was successfully posted (I think my phone is causing some discrepancy), but I suggest you check out Sleepaway Camp. It's from 1983, and going into it with as little knowledge as possible is the best way to experience it; refrain from looking up information or anything. It is a horror movie, that much I'll say.

In fact, they had to buy the script of Quebecer movie (Louis XIX), in order to make Truman Show, since this was the first that came with that idea. EdTV also had to buy the rights to it, which is way closer to Louis XIX than is Truman Show. The original wasn't that great at all, but was funny. Truman Show always been a favorite of mine. Great movie :)
