If you’re a fan of every Nintendo franchise then you’re never disappointed in a Nintendo direct hmmmmmmm. Fr tho Metroid is the one franchise I never gotten into, I’m an all around Nintendo fan, but I just didn’t feel interested enough to pay 60$ when Metroid Dread released. It didn’t feel worth it lol
i tried to get into metroid but when i played metroid prime remastered and beat it i didnt feel it had any replay value and i never truly enjoyed playing it.
Hey frangrams can you post a new link to your discord server? I left a while ago and was planning to join back through the link you posted in community tabs but it expired
Gonna be honest. As much as I love the trilogy, the first game is the only one that is almost unanimously considered a masterpiece. The second game is absolutely painful and drags on way too long, and 3 is cool but not really a Metroidvania. I'm not too anxious for Metroid Prime 4 because the track record shows it'll likely miss the mark a third time.
So if I understand correctly, you don't want to play the Metroid Prime Trilogy yet because once you'll have finished it the wait for Metroid Prime 4 will be even more unbearable ? Yes, I guess that makes sense considering you're in a very particular situation where you're a new fan to the Metroid franchise who didn't play a lot of Metroid games yet and especially not the Prime games. Personally the Prime games would be totally worth playing anyway but if you really can't bear the wait I guess it's a good option. I have a lot of patience and the project restarted in good hands so that's ok. You really don't know what you're missing right now though. Maybe once Prime 4 will be out you'll regret having waited for so long to do these 3 legendary games.
I'm sorry, but by your logic, nobody should have played Pikmin 3 Deluxe, knowing that the wait for Pikmin 4 would be unbearable. Just play the game. Story isn't huge in the Prime games, it will not take as long unlike in 2019, you won't regret just playing it now (and further supporting the franchise to get Metroid Prime 4 out quicker).
You started your Metroid journey with Dread? If that was my entry I would have never touched another title. Dread is dreadful. In every way possible when compared to the actual classic series and the Prime Trilogy.

Lol, Metroid Dread is probably the best Switch game out there.

1:08 and the irony you call a Metroid game a "metroidvania". That happens when you do not know how genres work.

Oh shoot now it’s a party!
The 2D Metroid series is better than the prime series imo, but that’s probably because I just prefer most 2D games
Im started to prefer 2d games after playing 2d Metroid games. These 2d Metroid games really shows potential of what can be done with 2d perspective.
It depends, I still prefer the 3D Metroid series and find it better because of the psychological dimension of first person.
