Go east of the Saskatchewan crossing 80 miles and that's where I live, have traveled Hyw 93 many times because its the most quiet way to travel to Vancouver less traffic early in the morning only 12 hours to Vancouver from Red Deer Alberta and relaxing drive if you leave super early, safe travels 😀 🇨🇦
Meaghan and Matt, loved your videos and you guys. Thanks for sharing. Only one sad thing watching your videos is I would love to find a due and hit the roads just like you guys do. Happy travel and be safe guys. Mary
We have been trying to come up with a name for our baby and wanted to name him after a national park...but we're thinking USA parks. This video reminded us of the beauty of the Canadian Rockies, and gave us a possible baby name...Jasper!! ❤️😊
Thank you! What a great video! I’m heading from Australia for December around Banff, Jasper, Lake Louise so it’s kind of going to look at little different 😬 Now I’ve seen this I know I’ll want to go back in Summer. You’re enthusiasm and natural presentation made for a really enjoyable video. 🏔🙌
Some of the Canadian travel brochures say this is the most beautiful highway in the world. I think they may be right, I have wandered this thing 4 times, and I live in Central California, so it is a trek. Great video as always, I really enjoy young folks that are smart enough to go live while they can. Congrats on choosing a great lifestyle, and best of luck always.
Sorry guys I too am searching for words for how beautiful the videos are, both your videoing and the scenery. And I saw Steve used gobsmacked.. which I was thinking too! Two great minds.. 😂 I have to say again that I am loving the bird and animal shots interspersed throughout. I’ll do this.. 🥰😍❤️🥰😍 Stay safe guys and enjoy!
I am so stoked that I finally get to watch your videos of your trip up. We just made it to the states again and I have 5G!! It's rad watching you guys go through what Bella and I just went through...except no snow on the ground. It was hot, kinda wish we would have done it first like you guys did. Alright...on to the next video 😁
It’s such a beautiful area! Stoked you guys got to see it too. We found those eagles completely by chance! We pulled over for some landscape shots and then spotted them just chillin and they were nice enough to wait for me to switch lenses 😂
You missed the Johnston Canyon hike in Banff/Lake Louise. There are upper and lower falls just a short walk (30-40min) from the trail head. If you keep hiking up you'll reach the ink pots. Amazing views and picture perfect. There is even a recently renovated campground right across the road from the trail head. One of our family favourite spots.
Yeah we saw that while doing research but we didn’t have enough time to do all the hikes we wanted to so we’re gonna have to go back at some point! It looks like it’s an awesome spot for sure
Blimey, peyto lake looks insane - incredible, incredible, incredible! You're seeing just as many lakes as we are in Norway, and that's hard to beat!... how about MAGESTICAL (fave word by far!) for your new vocab? 😂
Peyto lake is one for the core memory bank for sure! We’ll have to come to Norway to see what you guys are workin with over there 😉 Magestical is officially added to our list haha
just found your channel and truly enjoying it; we like how you move from place to place and video is not just talking to each other. My wife and I are planning to visit Vancouver and Banff this coming May, one question: what do you both carry on your backpacks while hiking. Again, thanks and best to you both.
Glad you like our channel! Banff and Vancouver are both incredible you’re going to have a great time. We always bring snacks, water, a small first aid kit, camera gear, a rain jacket, and an extra layer of clothing depending on the season. For bear country we also bring bear spray and an air horn
@@Meghanandmatt thanks so much for the quick response, at times we are confused what time of the year you all went as some parts you wear at shirt and others a winter jacket. Again, thx so much and blessings
The camera as usual does not show or capture all the beauty of these places. Onlyt he human eye and the brain can handle this overload of beauty. Will be there next week!
wow so beautiful. I'm glad youtube recommended your video up front. I never knew about Peyto Lake. Me and my wife want to travel up there sooner than later. How long have you spent in that area total ? Just curious a good time length to spend there. Thanks for sharing. Love the channel watched 2 videos so far. will give a sub. Your both awesome genuine people.
Hey Andrew! Stoked you liked the video. We spent about a week here but would love to spend more time if we could! We’re glad to have you along for the ride 🤙🏼
At Bow Lake, you should have parked at the north side where you can see the massive Blow Glacier. Also, you should have driven Highway 40 in Kananaskis. From South of Calgary to Longview to highway 40 to Banff.. One of the best drives in Canada. Better than the Icefields.
It wasn’t too long, the first observation deck is maybe 15-20 minutes from the parking lot and to the panoramic overlook is probably another 20ish minutes at most. We have the link to the trail listed in the description if you want to check that out. And definitely! I’d recommend bringing bear spray on any hikes in the area. Safe travels!! Hope you can make it there and have a great time!
I absolutely love your reviews. I have not noticed. Are you carrying bear spray? I'm planning a 2 week trip to Jasper and lake louise. I've been to Banff in the winter for skiing. I'm trying to avoid Banff due to crowds. Any thoughts?
Thanks Ron! Yeah we carry bear spray and an air horn. I’m not sure if you’re visiting from the US but you can’t cross the border with pepper spray but bear spray is allowed last I checked. We went in early June and there were crowds at the really popular places but the places we went in this video were way less crowded and still beautiful. I’d suggest make any reservations/campsites/hotels well in advance and try to start any popular hikes by/before 7am to beat the crowds. Banff town was cool but kind of a touristy place for sure. I wish we had more time to explore Jasper but the whole icefields parkway is absolutely incredible and worth stopping at every stop. When you start the drive make sure to grab the parkway guide from the rangers This whole area is 10/10 and we can’t wait to go back. Have a great trip!
@Meghanandmatt I'm from the US and have traveled from coast to coast in Canada. I always purchase bear spray when I arrive. I've done much hiking out of the Whistler area. My favorite place in Canada is Newfoundland. We spent a full month there recently and that was not enough time. This coming May, we are going to Tofino for about 12 days. 2025 I'm planning a trip to the Jasper area for about 3 weeks. You UTube channel is very good...some are boring..your's is not.
You can definitely make it to the viewing decks at Peyto lake and I️ don’t remember it being super tough to the outlook we went to, maybe a little elevation!
#sigh Thanks for your videos but Banff/Jasper was a disappointment in The Canadian "Rocky Mountains" vlog. (FYI" The ROCKIES are MOUNTAINS) Your visual and narrative attention and focus seemed to be on lakes and trees. First of all, Canada has almost 700,000 lakes representing more than the rest of the world combined. Lakes? yawn. As for trees, Canada ranks third in hectares and the US and Canada combined rank second in hectares. (Russia is numero uno.) Trees? yawn. I live in Toronto but as executive director with Fairmont (head office Toronto) - Banff Springs, Chateau Lake Louise and Jasper Park Lodge - and have been fortunate to have visited the area dozens of times in my duties. The lakes and trees are nice but the mountain vistas are SPECTACULAR. Lakes and trees are merely ancillary additions supporting and framing the pièce étoile. (I have nothing whatsoever against lakes and trees.) Just sayin'.
Seeing as you’re the executive director with some pretty fancy looking hotels maybe we can work something out and we’ll go make some mountain-focused videos for ya
Outstanding, incredible, terrific, marvelous, stupendous, mind-boggling, BEAUTIFUL video you guys! LOLOLOLOL!
