I just bought one for my wife. KitKat is her designation. She’s shadow blue. The roof is looking worn where it folds. The plastics inside are all looking a bit worn. Speakers are blown. Roof didn’t work because driver’s window didn’t work. Regulator, door control module and wiring loom repaired has fixed the window, but coming into winter I didn’t want to risk the test on the roof! Local VW Dealer attempted to scan the codes prior to my purchase but was unable to. So the aftermarket stereo came out, pulled the power loop wire from the adapter harness. Scanned codes, cleared codes… all dash lights are now fine! I replaced the interior door pull handle with the metal ones which I bent to match the curve of the cover and left the plastic behind to give that more original feel. The guide shows cutting etc… not my style. The replacements bolt through to metal door skin backing so are really sturdy now! Good luck, I’m subscribed! Interested to communicate as it all progresses

love my bug cabrio... noticed there prices are going up now...
I've got a feeling good ones of these will soon start creeping up in price. They're an unloved gem with all the makings of a modern classic.
