Reaper Miniatures' Bones series is great for beginners, IMO, because they're not too demanding to paint. I also recommend looking into Next Level Miniatures for really good plastic minis that are both extremely budget friendly, but also high quality for that price point in particular, for what you get.
@@Sorastro Your videos have been a fantastic source of inspiration. Among all the painting vids I checked for Shatterpoint's core set, yours have been the best - clear, concise, calm, covering every step and producing what I consider ideal results for each character. You hit it out of the park again with Sabine - a model I am both excited to paint myself someday but was completely stumped with how to approach her. Well, that problem is now thoroughly solved! Thank you
I have got to get into the habit of painting eyes in first the way you do as opposed to potentially splodging my mini's face I've worked so hard on! As usual, this is fueling my determination to keep mixing what paints I have on my wet palette all the more instead of using 10-12 paints for just one section of a miniature. And it was nice to hear you admit that even your patience has limits--it was in fact refreshing, because I always imagine you as being this side of inhumanly Zen at your painting desk the way I try to be.
Ha ha thanks! Yeh, I'm only human, too - and the effort-to-reward ratio for trying to expand those little white cubes just didn't seem worth it at all 😄
That was a treat to watch! This sculpt is a work of art, and so is your paintjob! The face and hair alone are perfection! ❤ I went nuts on all the details on the smaller Imperial Assault version years ago. I hate what Disney has done to her character and Star Wars in general, but I might just have to get this and paint her up for old times sake!!
watched some of your vids from 10 years ago and they were way better than they had any right to! Glad to see you still active, very awesome channel all around
Just teasing me with this one Sorastro hahaha! Ive got my boxes preodered, cant wait to get them! All your stuff is always amazing but really blew this one out of the park!
I am genuinely surprised your patience has a limit! 🤣 - Looks wonderful Mark. Great work all over. Just picked her up in Legion form so might be borrowing a couple of tips!
Fantastic work, seems like a precarious mini. im curious about you attempting smaller miniatures. i want to start painting my Star Wars Rebellion set. and im at a loss of where to start
Thanks a lot, Mike! I guess the smallest thing I've covered on the channel would be the Star Wars Armada ships: ruclips.net/video/XtP3ovfFgTc/видео.htmlsi=nElv_5mxBahz6kVw 😀
Very nice work, I know a chick that does Sabine Wren cosplay so well she really does look like the character in real life, even more so than the actress playing her in that lame Asoka TV show.
Great video, Mark. I returned to painting and been using SC75. However, some colors are challenging for me to dilute, white sands, for example. It comes out gooey and keeps this gel texture when using water or even SC75 thinner. Do you have any tips?
Thanks so much! Yes, I think you might find a couple of helpful tips in this video: ruclips.net/video/qW0fpSkgwLA/видео.htmlsi=t8cXeMdsDFzoU654 (Basically using some agitators, and a little flow enhancer helps..) 😀
Hey Mike! It depends on how far you thin the pigments, but I'd say the finish is generally a lot more opaque (and matte) compared to other fluo paints I've tried. And the brightness is insane (it's actually hard to pick up on camera) 😀
"even my patience has limits" - genius! Always a pleasure to see the master at work
Ha ha, thank you my friend 😁
Your videos have made me really want to get into painting miniatures
Awesome, thank you! Then I suggest you go for it, perhaps by starting with something simple but fun like painting some zombies for example.. 😀

I started mini painting because of Sorastro's videos. Do it!
I'm so happy to finally see another Shatterpoint painting video

Great video as always!

Are you going to be uploading the Inferno squad? :)
Hi Callum! I've actually already published a PDF guide for them: sorastro.com/2024/07/07/inferno-squad-pdf-painting-guide/ 🙂
Eyes first! 😮 why didn’t I think of doing that!!! Damn it!!! 😂
Doh! Thanks 😁
How do you find those pigment stack up against other Florescent paints like Vallejos ones?

@@Sorastro Hummm, might pick some up and experiment. Been doing a lot of that recently with the Scale Colour Artist and more recently Enamel Washes.
Is there a chance you’ll be uploading any of the other modes paint tutorials this week?:)
Hi! Not this week, no - sorry 🙂
I can't wait to get these kits next week, I'm excited to mess her up lol
Ha, you got this! 😁
