I won't worry about that. Ecoflow has a pretty sharp customer service and they do fix any problems as fast as they can.
My interaction with them has been great.
Love my EcoFlow max, mini, and generator. Don’t understand the snarky/negative comments. Not your cup of tea? Cool; don’t buy one, or wait for the upgrade.
Great video. I like how you showed the issues you had. My concern with this is you have to many computer/electronic factors that come into play, to run this in an emergency. As you noted, Ecoflow server was down and you couldn't connect to it. Just think about this, if you lose cell service, your smart phone wouldn't work or your wifi. Technology like this is just to dependent on other things, to function properly, that's out of the user hands.
Your Firman generator, might be louder then the Ecoflow generator, but uses less technology. Therefore, less to go wrong with it, if maintained properly. It would be more dependable in harsh weather.
I would keep your Fireman generator as a backup, to your Ecoflow system. I'm currently looking to buy the Ecoflow Delta Pro to work with our Tri-fuel generator.
Its not dependent on servers. The App on your phone is optional and isnt required to start any of the ecoflows.
Mine looks much different none of those visual flaws. I believe they filled them with gas and oil at the factory tested them and then drained them as mine had a slight odor of gas but there was no gas or oil in the motor but it was not bone dry
Mine arrived and has none of those visual flaws. It did also have an odor of gas and there was evidence that oil had been in the motor. It seems to me that they fill them with gas and oil test them drain them prior to shipping. Having said that I had it oil gas and it fired up instantly

For me, I will still get one. Not only for recharging my Delta Pro but also the convenience of monitoring the Smart Generator and all my Ecoflow generators thru the Ecoflow App.
Yes, the app is nice feature.
I almost bought this generator for my two Ecoflow Pros but I found a better one for almost half the price. Genmax 3500w dual fuel remote start/stop (GM3500iAED). I can charge both Ecoflow pros at the same time at 1550w. I can start it and stop it at will remotely and it was $799 and oh, it only weighs 56lbs!
Don’t get rid of the Firman. This Eco rig is complicated, and you never know when something is going to malfunction. The last thing you need is a significant problem after a prolonged power failure. Always have a backup. This is based on my experience with MANY hurricanes.

I have the River Pro and love it. But, since the Smart Gen is gas only, I would not be getting it. I have duel fuel gen and only use it with LP, no gas. If EcoFlow goes with an LP unit, now we are talking. Thanks for the info.
I almost passed on it myself, It was a hard decision. I have a 10Kw duel fuel also, but its so heavy and big, its not portable. I wanted something I can haul with me occasionally. So for now, I will just use gas from my truck as needed. There was a rumor on one of the EcoFlow facebook pages that a duel fuel generator may be in the works. But who knows if and when it will be available.

Hello there! I just got mine and I cant make it start (on propane), latter I will get some gasoline to test, but I dont like to use gasoline so I dont need to clean the carburator latter.
I bough several generator in my life, and all comes with a little gas smell, I guess they test them so they smell, not sure.
I go one Westinghouse from amazon right after a hurricane when I lived in florida, and of course that one was used. and didnt start at all. And the smell of gas was way way more.
Ecoflow app has issue with wifi that has SPACE in their name (yes).
Also my generator start button stuck in so it was beeping forever, until I could get it off. And this is like new out of the package. Not sure how will be in like 1 year :D
I understand that is not intended for heavy use, but more of a compensate use if solar is not catching up
Another thing, you need an adapter to connect it to ANY ecoflow product, so, why they dont include the adapter??? I just purchased it, and need to wait a couple of days , probably weeks. for it.
Anyway, thanks for the video. I see that the generator takes long to start, at least for the first time.
What they don't tell you is that it will not work as a smart generator if the temperature is freezing or below. The instruction manual says to run the generator for 3 minutes before putting any load on it. Having it plugged into the Delta pro unit is a load and therefore the generator should not be charging the Delta pro when the weather is freezing or below.

Yeah, absolutely. I asked if they are coming out with a multi fuel system and they said no. So i purchased one 4 months ago, regrettably.
Their server? Now we have solar generators spying on us too.
Its "just a little" spooky.
Things that are molded have parting lines where the mold comes apart. I can faintly see those on mine too.
But the parting lines should be clean and straight right? These are jagged and uneven. I have since had some feedback from a few others that told me their generator does not have the markings at all.

I have wondered that also. There is a rumor that EcoFlow will come out with a duel fuel, but no idea when that will happen.
I wouldn't mind those small scratches. I'm pretty sure it'll have those battle scars after a few uses.
Agreed, of course anytime you buy something new you expect it to look new, but in the end its a piece of equipment and will get dinged up over time anyway.

Agree, its a piece of equipment not a show piece. Ecoflow offered to replace it, but I kept it.
The delta max came with foam on top and bottom. I bet that thing was dropped
Its possible. The box was in pretty good condition but, you never know. They offered to replace it, but after the initial setup issues it seems to be fine, so I declined.

Once you have the setup complete, do you still have to have internet available to use the app each time? For example if I go off-grid with no cell service does the app then become un-usable? Thanks!
Does the pull cord start the generator when pulled?
You can use the pull cord or the start button on the front, or the app to start the generator.
Connecting app to device proves problematic with most ecoflow units in my experience.
I didn't have a problem with the Pro/Extra battery. And once the server was back up, I didn't have anymore problems. However, overall, I wish the process was simpler and that they had step by step instructions.
They recently came out with new version of App, it solved my problem with connecting which had been working until I disconnected! Am happy now but some online problem solvers don’t understand the product and charging questions if you contact them through the App. I am happy now.
If you sent this generator back, guess what they sent it to me. And I cannot use it because its still registered to your account. How nice of them. Yup its yours. It has the same exact cracks and stress marks and on the handle indent that u suspected of being hit by something. Plus the front of the screen didnt have a plastic protector. did you take that off? Plus the box with the long cord tampering label wasnt protecting the box anymore.

@@DownGridSurvival if thats the case then, Theres two exact same damages of your unit. And I happened to buy as new and received used. It even had oil in it. Which i didnt have to fill. as the dip stick was 3/4 full. The crack on the top is upper right going all the way down to the entry panel. Plus a crack on the left. Plus theres a dent in the back on the handle. So I thought possibly it was yours. They will be asking for me to ship it back when in california you cant ship oil devices. I have to drain the gas too.
Just out of curiosity why would I buy this smart generator for an Echoflow pro when I have a perfectly quiet inverter generator? You didn't connect them together. Is there an advantage? Did I miss something?
They don’t work very long with moderate loads, need recharging so an auto start generator will keep system up as long as it has gas and only operates until battery is recharged and then quiet.
@@melissasmess2773 yea I plan to have 400 watts of solar connected so i would only have to crank up the generator occasionally in an emergency. My current generator will do just fine

no. Its not waterproof and there are computer chips etc in it. It can only be used when its dry out.

The only thing that really matters with generators is reliability. The cool app and the quietness will quickly be forgotten when it won’t start one day on a stormy, cold, rainy day. Buy Honda.

Nice to have? Maybe. Reliable so that it is working when it is desperately needed? I don‘t think so. In these days, New products like this are overloaded with to many bells and whistles. Need an update before this thing would ever work? That is a joke, a bad joke. Get a dual fuel generator with a minimum of 2 common 120 V outlets, additional 12 V for charging your car or any other batteries. Interesting is that this product is highly promoted by any, you can find, RUclips channel with off grid power supply on it‘s list. Think about it ✌️🇩🇪
