When do you and Seth want to come to Oregon and build some trail? We've got 20 acres, a tractor, a chainsaw and unlimited free lumber. :) But really....lovin' the backyard build. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you for getting me back on a bike after 24 years, you've changed my life. I hope you truly realize the good you're doing. I wish you a speedy recovery, cheers!
Here in the interior of British Columbia the head dude in charge of maintenance on a trail (usually the one who built the trail) is known as the trail boss. We've been using that term for years. :)
@@ogDoit for example today we wanted to ride. They said they were in front of my house so I said wait a bit I'm gonna find some socks and eat something real quick 10 minutes later I go out and they are gone I wait 30 minutes then call them and he says he fell of his bike while bombing a hill. And the closest hill you could bomb was 40 minutes away. So they lied to me and I cried a bit.
Hey Seth! If you're reading this I just wanted to say thanks for everything you've done. You've been a real inspiration and you really got me into MTBing without being super technical and stuff. I just wanted to say thanks again for everything. Keep up the good work! 👍
Your videos helped me stay motivated through a concussion this summer (I hit a drainage ditch). I came out the other side more energized to ride than ever. I’m so grateful for your videos, they have taught and entertained me endlessly. Thank you
As usual, another awesome watch. What sets you apart from the rest is your prepared, rehearsed and perfectly executed script-integrated-with-compelling-shots. Nice work. Thanks!
So Awesome!!! It all looks great. You have single-handedly brought me and my whole family back into bikes. In the last two weeks we built the kicker ramp and bike rack. Now we ride through the driveway into the yard and think about making our own pump track. Thanks a million from Miami!!!
It's official: Phil is a near perfect trail engineering consultant. He knows how it's supposed to behave, has the riding ability to run tests and not screw himself if the build is subpar, and even though he is REALLY FRICKIN' GOOD, he understands how the average rider feels and thinks. I approve! One thing I was reminded of just by watching the test and the refurbishing of the Sicknic Table approach was, _mind the rear wheel._ It's obvious in hindsight, but it doesn't turn at the same angle as the front, and a straight-angle approach means you're forced to do an endo or side hop to reposition, or either the rear wheel gets caught (crash) or the loss of speed is too big to make a proper jump (crash).
I love Phil. Dude is hilarious, and also has insane natural ability. Makes it all look so easy. Love the channel Seth, happy healing and keep the collabs comin!
Great vid Seth, you really don't appreciate how good your dirt is aha. Trying to build trails and jumps where I live in South West Australia is like trying to build with beach sand.
Fast recovery my friend, I want to see you riding again, keep the good videos rolling as well. You got very good friends and a RUclips community that supports you and send you good vibes so you can be on the bike asap.
I was going to say that landing for the Sicnic table looked short to me. But then, I'm not an experienced drop rider, so I don't really know. But I'm glad things are shaping up for Berm Creek. Also, I see you opted for no surgery for your clavicle. I have to admit, i wish that was more of an option for me. I broke mine in two places, and had I let it heal on its own I probably would have had an odd looking collar by now. However, the lack of feeling I have in the area of the incision is annoying, I still have soreness in the area. I may end up having the metal plate removed eventually. Stay upright and keep the rubber side down.
Dude, you are the Morgan Freeman of the mountain biking community, I could listen to you talk about biking and biking related stuff indefinitely. Thanks for all the awesome content.
Hey Seth I've been watching you for a long time now and I love your channel😀. Recently for my birthday I got a Giant MTB and it's awesome, thank you for all the tips. BTW Congrats on 1mill you deserved it😀👍
Phil for the trail boss. This was an awesome video and am glad you guys got it done just in time. Stay safe through the wintery-snow mix this weekend bro.
@@SethsBikeHacks very, very versatile for the red dirt around here. I live in Morganton NC 45 min East of you. Hope your collar bone heals quickly so I can see you out on the trails!!

My friends and I built a couple of trails over the summer holidays, we are going out later to fix them up a bit as we haven’t ridden them for a couple of months. We are finding your videos really useful so I just wanted to say thank you! I might post a video later of us riding and working on them.
Berm Creek is really shaping up nicely dude! Get well soon, I bet you're itching to try it all out so that'll be a welcome reward when you're back on the bike.
Berm Creek is looking mint. My family and l recently sold our old house that l had my own back yard trail on and l miss it a lot, but our new home is only a few hundred meters from the local trail head so big win for me. Best of luck with the recovery mate,
Raja Rajan Krishna Kumar I decided against a huge backyard because it was undeveloped....then Seth built berm creek and I have regretted my decision ever since!
I do something similar in my backyard every year. Not as ambitious I would say, but we get 1m+ of snow every year (3ft+) of which I build a track for my fatbike. My backyard is flat though, but thanks to the snow we can build a lot of rollers and berms. Great fun! Heal up well dude, you're an inspiration! 👍
See, you aren't bored at all and still producing videos. Just don't be tempted to start the strenuous stuff too early and FFS don't crash out again as we all felt the pain last time.
Dangerous work. Clearly. As Phil has his helmet on for the whole thing ahah
It rare to see me without mine on
Ha.....thought the same thing. Good stuff.
Once I go out for a ride, I don’t take my helmet off all day.
Forgot the GoPro effect, the Phil effect makes everything look easy. 😲
Forget*
Amod Patwardhan no one cares
I wore my helmet while building to keep the OSHA inspectors at bay. You never know when they might show up!
Lol, I noticed that. Figured it was just a permanent part of your head now.
Safety first! Cant wait to see your version.
Hope there won't be any broken bones in the near/distant future
Style points for keeping the helmet on Phil!!

Message to Seth's wife - you're awesome for letting Seth do this!
NoName she gets the inside he gets the outside

can agree, either pure clay or straight sand, an absolute pain to build in Australia
I live in South West Australia too. Only 2M population, what are the chances...
Same way here in Florida. We are building a new pro set at the BMX track and have to get dirt trucked in from about 100 miles away. I feel your pain.
