I was fucking SHOOK when I realized Isayah was one of the statues in the King's Passage, I literally never noticed that before. Put in a solid 300-odd hours into this game, and I still find the occasional surprise.
Isayah was based on a PC from the RPG campaign played by the earliest members of F&H community. It took place in the proto dungeon of fear and hunger, or the very early version of it.
He must have been in the dungeons for some time or maybe a long time for him to discover maps of valuable treasures that means he delved deep enough in the dungeons for him to know about mahabre and descend down.
@@frapollo94 what if he is the Sulfur god that seeks the crow to accend. If you Follower Wormgirls official storry theory Video she said that Allmer carved out his inperfections uppon accension wich would explain why the Sulfur god appeared later on.
I really like the idea of a selfish person finding in themselves to do something big for the sake of others, masked by selfishness. The best of intentions that were mercilessly shot down by the overwhelming pitch-black darkness that are the dungeons.
First time I saw Isayah was in the layout where he's standing just to the right of the four new god statues. Going in blind, I confidently predicted he would turn out to be the mysterious fifth member of the fellowship I had read about. I was super wrong, but I'm glad his positioning may have foreshadowed something after all
Ive actually never asked the new gods about isayah which just says how good he is at hiding himself (then again I never did cahara S ending so I guess I just viewed him as an ironmask dispensor lol)
Interesting point about Isayah being named Ausar in files: the importance of Osiris comes mostly from things after he died, not before. Horus, who has parallels to Jesus, was born from Osiris after he died and his wife used magic to revive him. Osiris is the judge of dead and afterlife because he himself had died. If Isayah really is a New God, could his death somehow elevate him from a god that didn't matter to a bigger deal somehow? And could he be somehow related to the creation of another god? Maybe IF all 4 S-endings are canon, new god Isayah is the one who brings the girl through the gauntlet, honoring both the name of Isayah by bringing the god who will actually save humanity, and the name Osiris by "fathering" a god after his death.
Somewhat similar to Baldwin IV of Jerusalem, DD also has a character based on him. The leper king, thus the mask. It is said that he got leprosy from the common folk since he cared so much for them.
I like Betel. There's almost no information about him, his ring can give infinite mind restoration, and I'm pretty sure the book of enlightenment depicts him
Given this information I think that what likely happened was that Isayah was once a god but his power faded away over the years due to his followers losing faith in him. That’s what’s causing him to slowly die in the dungeons. I think that’s why he’s relatively weak as NPC when you fight him (not like Chambara, Valteil etc). He’s probably only still alive because he has cult followers. Maybe he was awaiting for someone worthy of finding the treasure for him so he could steal the crown-AND with the power of the crown he could gain his worshippers back. Maybe he wasn’t smart enough to find the treasure himself with his maps-or maybe he needed Cahara to use the cube of the depths to get to Mahabre because he cannot (similarly to how Nas’hrah can’t go to Mahabre without access to the cube even though he was once a god). Perhaps Nas’hrah has more power in game than Isayah because he has the yellow mages as followers, he knows magic and he gets a lot of his power from Grogoroth! Thank you for this beautiful theory Frapollo! 🫶🏻
I had never considered it but what Isayah does is very similar to what the successful gods do. In this way, they influence you towards a better path and give you the tools or strength to complete your goals on your own. Fear and Hunger, does show and sometimes tells you directly that when gods directly interfere with mortals it makes things progressively worse the more force they use, so Isayah representing this opposite approach is a very interesting idea.
Every character seems to have a mentor that compels them to the throne; Isayah could be the mentor of Endless... when he ascended the plague was his method of control, but when he was replaced on the throne by Nilvan (or others first) the plague was no longer relevant and only THEN did he seek a cure, to END his Endless
Ever since i first played i noticed one of the statues really looked like Isayah, i googled around and no one talked about it. Glad to see i wasnt the only one
such theory is actually impressive thought, I rarely think of such stuff and only think about connection between f&H 1 and 2/Termina. so hearing something like this is actually interesting and Intriguing. You cooked a great vid as usual

noice, always wondered why Isayah of all people had the maps to a treasure in Maha'bre of all places, and why he didn't go take the treasure for himself or even try. Maybe because he never needed to....
This is a great theory though I think the purpose of the Iron mask might be to mask his degraded face as we know he's already lost his arm to the plague and we never see his unmasked face. I think it might be worth looking at Chumbrah in Termina as he's able to leave the hall of the gods and basically go on a stroll. he's still in the hall of the new gods so his relevance has faded yet he still has enough followers to be summoned to talk with us and we can still find his poetry it might be like the writings of our predecessors for example Shakespeare but his work is as relevant today as ever. I wonder if that's why the god of torment can Rome free-ish still? I bring this up as a similar line of reasoning may apply to why Isaiah is able to still wander the world or are you only taken to the hall of the new gods if your reign ends while in Mhabre? that theory of mine aside I love your work as always frap stay safe sir.
will we get a theory on Nilvan being the priestess. I find the torturer words interesting as he says that he thinks she took him to have her way with him. knowing how much of a sadist he he's likely thinking Selene is torturing him but she could be having 'her way with him.' in a more romantic way. Really cool theory! When I saw the name Ausar I immediately had to think of Ausar the Vile from the Infinity Blade games, he‘s the character you play as for the most part. As far as I remember he was a cruel king that was defeated and robbed of his memories, now a new man trying to discover who he is and what he did. He also uses a false name, Siris, tho in this case because he forgor his real one. He is also a deathless which is sort of comparable to a new god, an artificial semi-immortal human. Though it could be complete coincidence that the two share the same name, infinity blade isn‘t a super well-known franchise as far as I know (except for the sword from those games that apparently got added to fortnite).

Hey, Frapollo, I have a question about Termina agility stacking. In F&H we could only get agility from white angel soul. In Termina there are many agility sources and we can stack multiple of the same accessory. So if we have 3 small thing's amulet, engraved god of fear and hunger, Tanaka's +1 Agility, and Marcoh's start with footwork giving +2 agility all marks up to 33 agility and we only need 16 to get a second turn. So could this possibly get 3 or 4 turns? and would fast stance add +6 agility if it gave base agility characters a second turn? What if we wear armor that reduces agility but activate fast stance, will it give a second turn? I would answer these myself but I do not know how to access Termina's code or console commands to give items.
The name of the new god is connected with his soul (tormented one is chambara, enlightened one is valteil etc etc), and I was wondering what the new god would be like if he had the soul from part 2 (latent, blank, solitary, decrepit etc etc) , so connecting to the information that isayah was a simple guy who wanted money i think that isayah have latent soul 🤔
Empathy has a dark side too so this could be interesting. It helps you understand how much someone is suffering. This is not just useful to those who revel in helping others. It can help one understand how to better hurt others as well. Empathy is a tool. It is compassion that seeks to help others.

It's strange that Isayah and other human NPCs have lesser souls instead of an special soul like the main characters. For other characters I though that their souls weren't strong enough to have an special soul or maybe the soul recieves a name depending on the new gods that rule mahabre and their soul type didn't correspond to the actual new gods. But if Isayah is a new gos himself, why he only has a lesser soul? Maybe his soul was very weak? His soul became weaker with time or he became weaker after new gods took his place? Maybe he lost the thing that made his soul special? I wish we had more knowledge on how souls work on Fear and Hunger.
Yeah my bet is that the trait of his soul got thinner and thinner with time up to the point of disappearing in the current time, which also makes sense considering he doesn't possess any incredible power
Out of curiosity, what happens what happens when you ask the gods about Ausar? I've never had the chance to play this game, but I have watched a few playthroughs and this character always reminds me of a ghost, someone who's passed and hasn't even realised it. Especially when no one else seems to be aware of his presence.
Yooo let's gooooooo, my boy is finally getting some love. Isayah has one of, if not the coolest design in the game, he looks so badass. Edit: the theory was awesome, even if the evidence is questionable at best. How did Isayah get to Mahabre without the cube of the depths? Is the golden statue near the Golden Temple even him or just a guy that happens to look like him? Nevertheless, Isayah is a pretty mysterious guy, anything could be true about him. Great work Frapollo, thank you for the interesting theory
Cube requirement is always ambiguous, cause rondon knights are somehow able to enter in there too (they may have temporarily taken the cube, but it's still kinda stretched)
There is 1 person in that hall similar to Isayah, I didn't want to make that connection cause my knowledge about termina for now is far less than the one of the 1st game!

Here's a stupid theory that doesn't really work with in-game lore and stuff: His plague is keeping him alive but is also killing him, he probably got the plague somewhere between when the new gods appeared
In the base story Isayah won, he put his plague on you which is his own essence to be reawakened and immortal in a new god body. This was probably how he stayed alive all those years. The plague is not really focused in the game but it was there and apparent in Rondon. The name Isayah was the host's name but not the god's name that's why the New Gods did not recognize the name Isayah, he wasn't telling you the whole truth. There's a reason why Isayah is weak he didn't mean to win he meant to put his plague on you. Isayah can be everywhere at once as he is the plague. Who knows he might have been in control of the other New Gods like Francois and was merely using him.
Personally I feel like Fear & Hunger getting popular has a lot to do with you and a couple other dedicated F&H creators, so the other people talking and making it more seen only really know as much as the experts have told them. I don't see many other people do the kind of deep dives into the story or even code that you guys do

I fully believe this
Love the latest vids Frap even the ones not related to fear and hunger also im happy youre getting sponsors now great job
Thanks buddy!
im gay
If presumably Isayah's real name is Auser, Does the new gods have an answer to the name?
Unfortunately no
@@frapollo94 dang
Out of curiosity, what happens what happens when you ask the gods about Ausar?
I've never had the chance to play this game, but I have watched a few playthroughs and this character always reminds me of a ghost, someone who's passed and hasn't even realised it. Especially when no one else seems to be aware of his presence.
Unfortunately nothing, but I think it's just because we aren't supposed to know that name
@@frapollo94 I was kind of hoping to get an Easter egg but I can't say I'm surprised it's a bit too obvious that people would take a peek and try it
Yooo let's gooooooo, my boy is finally getting some love.
He has the same name as me lol
My name is Isayah**
WAIT!!! Isn't isayah in the hall of gods in the start of termina?!?!?
There is 1 person in that hall similar to Isayah, I didn't want to make that connection cause my knowledge about termina for now is far less than the one of the 1st game!
@@frapollo94 Yeah. I just connected those two facts randomly. But Im certain that this is the further conversation you wanted. I was always curious about that one figure being so out of place there
Also this could definitely confirm that he was in fact a new God
Your videos are always so well done! You're honestly underrated!!
Thanks!
Sei simpatico, competente e professionale, complimenti continua così!
Grazie bro!
this video cured my plagg
Really? Wow I could become a doctor
Pov: Isayah trying to make few bucks and wearing a mask and not giving his TRUE name cuz his stealing after all (JK FRAP I REALLY ENJOYED this one)
Wait so what if you asked the new god abt Ausar?
There's no answer from them
@@frapollo94 ahh okay thx
But hey, thats just a theory A GAME THEORY. Thanks for watching.
Cool vids, Don't know the Lore as I normally just use Outlander and smash my way through the evil scum in the Darkness.(with no arms :( )
Buddhist allegory? in MY video game?? More likely thank you think
anyone know the name of last ost used ? at 12:00
Wayward souls from Fear and hunger termina
@@frapollo94 thank you always use it and i kind of liked it
Nobody posts about it because I bet barely any of them have played and finished the game, and that's not coming from some elite 'git gud' player mentality, I've not finished it yet either, it's time consuming and hard but it's fun, when you churn out horror videos on loads if different subjects daily I doubt you have the commitment to each of them like you do mate! Frapollo for world government 2024
"Secret incantation scrolls" that basically were skills of Jesus Christ - what a coincidence!
Here's a stupid theory that doesn't really work with in-game lore and stuff:
His plague is keeping him alive but is also killing him, he probably got the plague somewhere between when the new gods appeared
Maybe the plague ascended together with him, now its a god plague vs a god human
I don't see many other people do the kind of deep dives into the story or even code that you guys do
You really nailed the serious tone of this video! Do you have plans to make any other theory videos?
Hell yeah!
god theres no mention anywhere of isayah and the fact he gas a new god statue, not even on the wiki! i just noticed this after my third plsythrough to get le'garde endings and was super curious about it
Can u make a video explaining nashara's story as well?
Huh very interesting, I would be super down 5 more lore vids like this!!
Maybe there's another one in production...
@@frapollo94 Pog, very pog indeed!!
You should try to write Isayah real name to the new gods maybe they will be an answer
Wow a frapollo94 theory video i cant wait to watch it
Can anyone tell me how to get the skin Isayah please?, i really want to become him
Wish it'll become canon.
