  • Artists are synonymous with disorganization, let me help you change that! Being organized helps productivity, creativity, and time management. Here's how I organize my work and assets for my 3D work as well as my photo and video projects.

I'm sure you know about external docks (for easy offline back-up) but another software suggestion is SmartSync. With a couple large disks, a dock and SmartSync backing up is quick and fast.

Yes I want to get one as well as connectors for my old laptop drives do you know what kind I need for that? Since this video I've found a program Free File Sync which detects which new files you've made and syncs it to your backup drive. Perfect for what I do. 2 clicks and I let it do it's thing

When I store photos that I've done I name the folder Year-Month-Day example 2022-06-13 then I might add a very general topic like Smith Wedding or Flowers

I use a program called Hard Disk Sentinel they have a free and a paid version and it keeps an eye on the drives and alerts you if one starts having issues

@@DanielGrovePhoto I also have separate folders for Unfinished Projects, Finished Projects for Blender and also as I learn Cinema 4D. Plus I have game dev assets in folders based on style, 2D, 3D, and also for themes

Video six of ruclips.net/p/PL0RtAku-eLdMb4gFVgLgJxgC8BkxpcyMR is very helpful for big Blender projects, especially big modular scenes. The "SyncToy" tool from Microsoft is really handy for making backups onto network or removable drives, especially if you have multiple computers you're going between.

I think you meant RTX not GTX 2080 (There is a significant difference) ... just saying, love the video!

Ah yes I get them confused because I have no idea what they stand for other than one has better performance than the other. My last computer was a laptop with a GTX 1060. Getting this 2080 ti RTX is a big update! My scenes rendered 4-10 times faster!

@@DanielGrovePhoto Yes, you are so right, my main system of dual 1080Ti Hybrids that I spent some money on got trumped by my little 3080 laptop, so sad. I just picked up a 4T passport at discount to start building my assets library in, all because of you ha ha ha!

@@clausbohm9807 awesome! Remember nothing is safe unless there's a recent identical copy elsewhere! I'm using free sync to keep my backs up to date it's so easy and useful.
