But.. If one listens (CLOSELY), they will learn that this song is (Literally about Jesus dying for the worlds sins)..
Prince dropped a LOT on this album that went way over people’s heads because they were busy dancing. Even the end of “Darling Nikki” had a message about God at the end when played backwards.. Ironically enough, that particular song 🎵 s responsible for the Parental advisory stickers on records..
He’s been dropping religious hints since his 4th album entitled “Controversy”.
“Let’s go Crazy” is about not allowing life’s troubles to drive one to drugs and excess, thereby pulling oneself away from God.. The “elevator” is a metaphor for moving towards “hell”
Prince was VERY religious, to the point that he would go door to door and surprise people, sit with them in their home, and spread the word..

This song is so good, and the lyrics are so heavy, that I don't think you need the video. Also, speaking of lyrics, it's interesting that Prince later changed the lyrics, and he would never perform this with the original lyrics. He took out the parts that he thought were blasphemous. Plus some other parts. Like where he sings "I'm Not Your Friend," he changed that to "I'll Be Your Friend"
