@Rasputin demands 100 subs !! It was discussed on BBC R4 yesterday.
It was discussed on BBC Radio 4 yesterday, a bit late, alongside Fred D'Aguilar's latest work.
Drill died in America. The U.K. championed the sound, revived it and made it completely different and ours. To say New York drill is influenced by Chicago drill is a lie.
Truss
LDN T ok you have to realize that besides Sheff G and other M8v3n niggaz nobody really listens to UK drill to say that we are influenced by y’all that fuckin crazy we simply use UK beats which came from that DJ L type Chicago drill
It's death music!
Keem Peso did sheff g, 22gz and others not influence Brooklyn which then influenced New York?? The source was U.K. drill once 1 or 2 Brooklyn artists started rapping in that style and everyone started to do it. Which led to guys like Pop smoke and fivio foreign. New York has to pay homage on this one. Why is it so bad to be influenced by the U.K.?
@@ldnt1698 it's not actually it's a bout time the U.K sound actually defines New York drill
Lets be real, the only people watching this already understand the culture - no one completely separated would ever spend this much time to understand the genre more.

It's cause of the violent lyrics not producers fam

Truth No lies bmt he seems like a calm guy I’m not gonna lie. Like the comments with people saying “iT RuIns THe AuThEnTiciTY” when his telling his story, like his not portraying himself of the bad guy actually it’s the polar opposite. He literally explained how his life came to be that he would end up in prison, because tbf unlike most drill rappers, kidavellys actually done time in prison before.
Tj Kamusoko kidda is a calm guy i speak to him most days, he’s calm especially for someone who gets so much hate everyday of his life
Ngl the documentary as a whole was a huge let down. Didn't feel the passion in it at all.. But RIP to all the fallen ones 🙏🏿
The thing is if you know about Kidavelly he definitely asked for this life; he is 26 doesn't make money on road or do anything with his life or live this life, he spends his time trying to show Instagram he is the gangster he's not.

Arrested for violently playing the violin, good analysis😄
no its not. It was surface level. Playing the violin compared to zone 2 no censor??? We need to stop making excuses for death music
Cash Flow who even cares if there’s dead people on a song. If u don’t like it you don’t have to listen to it. It doesn’t make you want to kill someone
Cash Flow plus most of the names in no censor weren’t killed by zone 2
@@CashFlow287 but it's alright for an MP to say they won't rest till a "colleague" is chopped to death and put in a freezer?
@@DrillStar who cares. Young men and teenagers are serial killers and we glorify it and praise them. It's so backwards. Some of these guys just want clout and money. It's on us to reject their message. And watch them say they are just reporting what happens on the streets. No - they make it look fun, they don't talk about the pain.
Stabbing is one of the most brutal ways to kill somebody but we have kids talking about whats the score like its call of duty. Using slang like chinging, dipping and cheffing, just trivialises the gravity of what its like to take somebodies life with a knife, and turns it into a game.
This was an amazing documentary and deserving of a wide audience. A huge thank you to all involved in making it for being honest, raw while not demonising all of those involved in the UK Drill scene.
The chorus of the mums at the end was something special bless all of them 🙏🏽❤️
The era of PYG, GAS Gang etc (mid-late 2000's) was the start of the UK scene that we now call UK Drill. Everything developed from that point.
Stickz was the first person to bring the drill 'sound' to the UK scene.
Good comment. Good era.

We had road rap don't forget
@@adzz6467 true we had road rap. But the era of London streetgangs beefing each other and also uploading music videos dissing each other on RUclips started in the mid/late 2000s with the PYG/GAS era (and it continues to this day with UK Drill)
Actually there were beefs before GAS and PYG it just that it got brought to the media when GAS gang started
I love this kind of music. Some of the lyrics are deep and show the guys real emotions. It's a good outlet. They cannot ban this music its passionate.

Fully enjoyed this documentary. Very informative.
27:40 Beautiful to see how 2 totally different people find harmony and understanding through music.
This was bloody brilliant. I cried when the mothers were talking about their lost kids it's a fucking nightmare that kids live in fear for their lives in this country, I was amazed and refreshed to see Drillminister rap about politics so eloquently because more young people need to be engaged, I was glad to see the girls not accept being treated as objects because the argument over men's treatment of women will rage for eternity. This was a proper journey.
Definitely. Drillminister really is a breath of fresh air
The end brought tears to my eyes. Great documentary. The video featured young men such as Kidavelly who usually is on a negative knife carrying, "kill or be killed" tip. But here, even he is attempting to make positive moves and sounding remorseful and cognizant of the pain felt by victims' families in the aftermath of violent attacks. Bravo!!
The ending song was the tearjerker. I thought of all those young lives lost and wondered if they could have ever imagined their regular "day to day mothers" being in a situation where they would be on camera, making melodious music that would go out to millions around the world................
That is so emotional 😢

This is the content we need. RIP to my baby brother Louis Johnson murdered senselessly and brutally last month ❤️
Those poor mothers, their pain jumps off the screen. It's hard to watch but it's important that people see this.
This is really educational. RIP to all the young kids who lost their lives due to stress, fear. Poverty plays a major factor and that should be addressed Globally
I don't think ''stress'' or even poverty is as risky to life as a new kiddy trend of wearing masks and wielding knives on the ''streets'' would be.
There's also a very simple solution to poverty that does not require globalised funds and resources + distribution just to get that single pack of rice to every square mile on the planet...
It's called growing your own fucking food.
You put a seed into the ground, give it some water (fairly frequently in the summer)
Wait a few months and boom!
You have generated value, wealth, and increased your survival capacity.
And don't tell me you don't have access to basic dirt when you're walking all over it. Do you know food, ergo value, comes from there?
Typical response. Blaming society. Instead of taking ownership of their actions.
exactly its easier for the government to blame music than help poor people whether black, white or whatever race. theyd rather ignore the poor until it becomes a headline (and a headache for them). its the same in ireland but not with black people, poor white kids are doing the same as poor black ppl in england. poverty is the problem not fuckin music
