Thanks a lot! I had new garage doors installed last spring and with the cold weather this week one suddenly had a 3/8 gap on the bottom. I had no idea how to adjust. After watching your 4 minute video, it took me maybe 2 minutes to grab a screwdriver then find the adjustment screw on the side of the lift and then turn it 1/4 turn counterclockwise. Door then closed perfectly!
Put up with a gap at the top seal for a couple of years even though it appeared sealed at the bottom. Living in Maine that meant a cold garage. A few moments watching this, simple and clear - adjusted the down force. Done!!!! Perfect seal all the way around. Thank You!!! Such a help!!!!
I don't know why I don't check your channel first every time I'm looking for a home diy answer. You have a video for dang near everything and have the most laid out professional walk through. Thanks for the content!
Thanks, we are starting to get a solid library of videos with 150 published but should have 225 by the end of the year and we will keep cranking well beyond 2021. Thanks for the support.
We replaced the rubber seal on the bottom of our garage door and then it wouldn't stay closed (it would hit the ground and open back up immediately). You saved us from calling a tech. Thanks!
This video was very helpful to me. I just replace the pulley on my garage door because it was broken and I was wondering why it broke. I didn't know there was a way to adjust how far the door can go until i saw this video. Thanks for a good video.
Wow thank you so much! I have the opposite problem where the garage drops too low and the system thinks there’s something in the way when it hits the floor so it will automatically go back up. Frustrating and been dealing with it for a few years now. I wish I found this video sooner!
Helped a lot ! Thank you ! My only issue is that i had it down to where it sealed . Tested it again and the gap was there then pushed it down manually and the gap was gone . Not sure if thats the sensors stopping it or what. But gap is gone , thank you sir !
Thank you for this very helpful video! I got a small gap in only one side near the end. The garage floor appears to be level. Any suggestions to fix this problem? Thank you.
Mine contacts the ground pretty hard but it doesn't cause it to bounce back up. Good seal at the bottom but it lifts up the black bar with a chain on it up a little bit on the inside debating on putting a little less travel down on it
You can try a closed cell packing foam (cut to the exact width and height) and nail it to the door in the sunken middle area. Or a door vinyl gap sweep, and cut to size and nailed to the door in the sunken middle area.
Saved me a good 750$ cuz everything this days has a $500 flat rate fee.. SoFla ... and if you go with a contractor that’s another $500 I have the Old Sears and it’s the same two little screws if anyone cares...
Can I use this process to raise the garage door? I need to raise it like 1/4 inch so water from the ice melt in winter can leave my garage rather than pooling up against the door.
We closed in our carport with a garage door, but rain water from our patio needs to go through the carport. Currently we have a good seal, but I need to leave a crack to keep water from pooling in the carport. Would I be able to do the opposite to fix my issue.
I think so. You would turn the screw knob in the direction of the arrow where the arrow gets smaller. Start with 1/4 turn with screwdriver, and see the result. Do put down 2-3 sheets of paper towel to confirm there’s a gap for the water to flow out. If you want a higher gap, add another 1/4 turn.
Most likely you have a situation where one of the drums which winds up the cable on each end of the garage door has slipped and now is a little longer/shorter compared to the other side. You will need to take the tension off the springs to make the adjustment. This video does a good job explaining the process. ruclips.net/video/jRHdDjgu8gA/видео.html
My garage door was working fine until it snowed last night a part of the cement underneath the middle of the garage door raised and now my garage door won’t shut. Help!!!
Does you door close without the sensors connected? Without the safety sensors connected or bypassed I wouldn't think the door would close at all let alone adjust the lower travel position.
He showed both sides of the same opener. One side is the travel adjustment, and the other side is the force adjustment. This was a nice clear video, even explaining how the internal mechanism works! That was a nice bonus that most people wouldn't explain! Great video!
Why can't all videos be this simple and to the point without having intro music and a ton of talking before getting to the fix. just subscribed!
💥 BOOM 💥. I knew there was a solution that didn't require me to wait until the new bottom seal wore down in the heat phase of summer..... Thank you!!

I was gonna replace the bottom weather strip to resolve the gap issue, but fixed it in just a few seconds following your instructions. Thanks!
No Problem Dave, happy to help 👍

Took only a few seconds and it was perfect. Thanks a lot!

Thank you! I do not know why for some reason my garage all of a sudden have an inch gap at the bottom and your video helped me fix it.
Nice, happy to help. At least where I am at it is super cold 🥶 right now so gaps at the bottom are No Bueno.

What a great help! Thank you.
Thanks. This video was very helpful in adjusting my Chamberlain model 1100 (which does not have the force adjustment screw.)
Awesome video thanks! Can’t wait to try

Great info, well explained, many thanks!

Thanks, just subscribed.
Nice mine was closing a little too hard and it was bouncing up so I’m going to try to fix it after I clean the garage up maybe replace the gasket to
I have an older Raynor 170-7 and I had to remove the cover to make the adjustment (a little bit different).
Mine contacts the ground pretty hard but it doesn't cause it to bounce back up. Good seal at the bottom but it lifts up the black bar with a chain on it up a little bit on the inside debating on putting a little less travel down on it

For door closing travel (down), 1 full turn of the screw, counter-clockwise = 2 inches of travel. Stay safe ☮️
Good stuff
Thanks!
This fixed it for me. Thank you.
Nice, glad it worked for you! 👍
Excelente!! Thanks so much
Thank you!!!
do you have any recommendations for when the concrete is uneven and the corners are sealed fine but the middle is not?
You can try a closed cell packing foam (cut to the exact width and height) and nail it to the door in the sunken middle area. Or a door vinyl gap sweep, and cut to size and nailed to the door in the sunken middle area.
Thank you
Any help with that style of door coming off tracks? Much appreciated!
Thanks
Its not going too bad thanks
Do these need replaced frequently in Midwest. Seems ours was replaced and has a huge gap again
If you have your Open manual, there’s a section that tells you how to do it also.
Thank's!
No Prob!

Nice, yeah small routine service calls can really add up. Great to hear you got the door adjusted.
Can I use this process to raise the garage door? I need to raise it like 1/4 inch so water from the ice melt in winter can leave my garage rather than pooling up against the door.
Will this work if i have one side that is fine but the right side of my garage floor you can see a bit of a gap
My seal has a 3/4” styrofoam insert in it. Should it be there?
what if the gap is only in the middle not the edges? like the concrete must be sagged or the door bowed
What do you do when one side of the garage won't seal all the way?
I have got gap after installing new tension spring.. Can you suggest anything that will help me? the gap is about one inch.

What if the screw for going down is already at its max and you still have a gap?
I brought a new house and right side has the a gap where I can see sunlight bottom seal looks new could this solve the problem ?

Everyday Home Repairs exactly what I was looking for thank you so much
@@breyes4139 Happy to help 👍
Will this work for a small gap on one side of the garage?
probably not. Sounds like the the floor and bottom of door not parallel
Does it matter if the door is open or closed when you make the adjustment?
my problem is the ice and snow build up from driving in and out. keeps screwing up the pressure sensors
I love you
What about non automatic garage doors?
Not only a draft mice fynna go through them gaps
💯
Sadly, mine does not have those adjustment screws on with side of the opener.
My garage door was working fine until it snowed last night a part of the cement underneath the middle of the garage door raised and now my garage door won’t shut. Help!!!
what if the garage door closes at the bottom but the top of my garage is still slightly open
I have red like and blue seser green on red cep flash in notwoking of you have to have key pad
I tried that mine still stops same place.daylight under seal
I disconnet the sencers ,can I make this adjustment without them .
Does you door close without the sensors connected? Without the safety sensors connected or bypassed I wouldn't think the door would close at all let alone adjust the lower travel position.
Omg you go through too much for me to even think about all I need is something thick on my garage door strip
Get to the point
Dam the video is already less than 5mins 😂
Video is horrible. You are showing two different garage door openers.
Hey Greg, sorry for the confusion. The video has the same garage door opener throughout. Let me know if you have a specific questions. Thanks!
@@EverydayHomeRepairs It absolutely does not.
Greg - take a chill 💊 and relax dude 🤣
