I can only imagine how proud her 10 year old Daughter is of her Mother's professionalism, artistry and outlook. She is an excellent ambassador for the promotion of welding in America.
I'm learning to weld using all methods and I have to say thank you for your video. I'm a mom to a daughter who has Cerebral palsy and her wheelchair is an extention of her self. I'm going to create a new wheelchair that is going to help her learn to do more. I'm inspired by you to want to create and learn and not being intimidated by others but rather learn from them. Thank you for inspiring me!
Like you said, I could see the job opportinities in welding too. So now I work at a shipyard as a mig welder/ casco builder. Just started this january and doing very well. I enjoy working with my hand for a change. Like this new challange. Only woman at the yard at the moment, but more women are picking up welding.
I've been getting signs everywhere to go back to welding. I chose a different path because I had other plans. Those plans fell through, and now it seems like the universe is trying to tell me it's time to go back lol
Good for you. You are doing exactly what I have been dreaming about doing which is making unique metalwork with my everlast welder. I've only been toying with the idea up to now.
As being a AWS member and a CWI since 2021, I personally think that welding will be super thrill only in USA not in other countries. Currently working in saudi arabia as a welding inspector and looking for moving to USA
Thanks to AWS & Stephanie for sharing this video. Awesome that Stephanie is passing it along by building confidence/bonding with her daughter through welding and being creative.
Keep up the good work I'm very proud of you women learning how to weld is a very good trade my dad taught me when I was 16 years old on a buzz box I am now 65 years old and got my own welder + plasma cutter you ever get the Elkhart Indiana look me up Bob👍🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
I was going to go to trade school and learn to be a welder until I found out that there are quite a few cons and a lot of those cons could lead to death or really bad joint problems as you age.but that's just me I'm not going to stop anyone if they want to join the welding industry
The school where I teach is building a new welding lab. I would like to make sure the space is inviting and welcoming to the female high school students. Do you have any recommendations for ways I can make the welding lab and program more inviting?

@@theweldor757 I honestly don’t think it’s that big of a deal. The majority of people spell it “wrong”. So what. We all understand what people mean when they say “I’m a welder.” Clearly it can be spelled both ways if you’ve only came across it spelled “right” 3 times in your life.
My best advise to any young person who is thinking about a career in welding...is to pick a different trade. in 30 years your basic shop welder is going to be as in demand as a blacksmith...everything will be 3D printed. the technology is advancing so fast that the transition is inevitable. Anyone who is planning on a 40 year career (not to mention investing thousands in welding schools) is going to get seriously hurt later in life.
@John Thomas I am a welder, and have been for the past 33 years. and yes, in time (far less time than you think) there will be a 3d printer in a muddy ditch repairing whatever piece of equipment...for one simple fact. welding is a artform...and art is not efficient. never had been and never will be. dont get me wrong welding itself will be around for a long time, but not nearly at the scope it is today. which is why I tell new people to not bother learning it if they plan on a carreer
In Canada, there are basically only 3 ways that my male co-worker welders are fired from our job site that has over 2000 people working here. Miss too much time. Show up with liquor still on your breath Talk to a woman welder. NOT in that order.
You don't see many female welders at all especially in the field industrial construction jobs. Alot of them work in a little shop like this and tig all day. Guess there is a reason 94% of welders are still men.
I wish I can get my daughter to get back in welding? She loves art and also likes to weld🤗 I think it’s because there’s not enough organization to support young welder so saddens me🥲

Hi Steph. Just started welding. Got a problem setting the right amperage to the correct rod. Any advice would be welcome.
What rod are you running on what kinda material thickness etc ?
Meditation....once see you see that bluish green spark, you are gone.

If you google the definition of a welder it says “a person who welds metal”
You can spell it both ways.
