Sansa was 100% goading Joffery into a more dangerous position on the battlefield. She's already learning so much.
Sansa wasn’t just trying to be annoying to Joffrey before the battle when she told him that her brother Robb led his men to battle in the front lines. She was trying to shame Joffrey into the fighting in hopes he’d get killed. She’s learning to play the Game.

The Stag you saw was Ser Loras fighting in Renly’s armor.
Not to be that guy, but in the books the Baratheon men thought it was Renly's ghost coming back to haunt them for what Stannis did, and it turned the tide against Stannis because of his men's superstitions.

Except it wasn't Loras wearing Renly's armour in the books, it was Ser Garlan The Gallant, Loras' older brother

They showed it a little bit here, but it's clearer in the books: the bulk of Stannis' army was originally Renly's, but they joined him after Renly died. Loras wore Renly's armor into battle (which is a highly recognizable deep forest green in the books), so in the moment, it looked like Stannis' army was being ambushed by men led by the dead king Renly, which rattled some of them and caused them to rout.

Iirc, that was Loras Tyrell wearing the late King Renly Baratheon's armor.
This was the episode that made The Hound one of my favorites as I was watching the show originally. Great little teaser for a fight with Bronn, that hilarious one-liner when he leads the men onto the battlefield, the audience truly getting to see how much the fire affects him, taking the piss out of Jofferey and getting out of there, and finally genuinely offering to bring Sansa home. This episode is one of the most well made, and because of the roles Tyrion & Sandor play, it's easily among my favorites if not number 1.

In the Battle of the Blackwater Ser Loras of house Tyrell Dawned Renly Baratheons Armor and nobody would kill him as they believed Renly was brought back to life.

I love the theme for the Stark girls of seeing what's true for yourself. Arya gets the beginning of this lesson from her Dancing Master when he tells her, "...but you were not seeing. My eyes shouted the truth." And the Hound is really emblematic of that journey for Sansa. She is fooled at first by Joffrey and slowly begins to see how the Hound has protected over and over again. The things that look scary may not be as horrifying as the monster that wears a "charming" face. She looked straight at him and realized, "You won't hurt me."

The scene between Sansa and the Hound in this episode is so beautiful and incredibly made. Looks are deceiving! Despite being COMPLETELY different from the books, the TV version seems perfect to me! They are built different, but I can't tell which one I prefer.
This episode made me love both Tyrion and the Hound. They are great characters!

If you can believe it...S2 is usually middle ranked among the seasons.
S2 is mostly remembered for Tyrions hand of the king moves and the Tywin/Arya dynamic.)

S4 is usually the top choice.
S6 and s3 coming in always close behind.
S1 was its own unique raw part of the story. Some ppl say they choose s1 as a favourite mostly based off of its purity and simplicity in hindsight. (If you end up diving into small details tho; it is jam packed!)
S1 is a beautiful catalyst I feel imo.

S7 and 8 are controversial no matter what peoples rankings are.

S2 and s5 are rarely talked about other than this episode - Blackwater and s5 being where the book material mostly runs out and both are rarely in a top spot for ranking.
....all this being said.
S2 is still better than pretty much all TV according to the Art.

looking back s1 is allmost like a set up and season 2 is were it gets more and more complicated and interesting. Also it has my fav duos with Tywin/Arya and Varys/Tyrion
Maaaaaaaaaaan the show leaves out one of the best parts of Blackwater Bay!! Tyrion all throughout A Clash of Kings is steady asking the blacksmiths to make big ass chains for him and you're reading like "tf these chains for, why he bugging about some chains??" Then Stannis' fleet tries to escape, and guess what they do? THEY PULL THE MF CHAINS and his fleet gets trapped!! One of the hardest parts of the book!
