Hello follow model enthusiasts! I pre-ordered my kit with Brady at ScaleAutoWorks dot com. He was great to deal with... if you guys would place an order, please tell him Royce from Pedal2Metal on YT referred him to you. Thanks!
The fiberglass covers over the block and cylinders should be a bit more yellow. I’ve always been a big fan of the 917. I can’t believe they built a 1/6 scale model. It must have been painfully expensive. Nice build so far.
A quality build in every way, apart from the color change, which is a nice color, it just doesn't accurately represent the fiberglass used but then neither did the mustard yellow they chose for the kit. Definitely a hard one to reproduce being marbled and varying in color from yellow to green, but most often appeared an orangey-cream color. Also, just so you know, being a Japanese name it's pronounced, TA ME YA.
The lighting and my camera has changed the "fiberglass" colors than how they look in person. I photographed the 917lh in Philly and really wanted to capture how the fiberglass pieces would have looked when 6 months to a year old. They change color as they age. Thanks for watching and commenting
Pocher v IXO. I notice the IXO part count is MUCH higher. (The Pocher parts count is suspiciously low). The overall cost is what I would like to know as a comparison.
The price was essentially the same as the Pocher kit at the time when I pre-ordered with Brady at ScaleAutoWorks dot com. If you would place a pre-order with Brady, please tell him Royce sent you; I'd appreciate it.

The engine looks great, that's going to be one huge model. I hope one is in my future
Thank you! It's slowly coming along... it's a cool kit, that's for sure. I'm hoping to build a coffee table for it down the road.
