Great job. Will help a lot on my 76 Suburban tailgate. My original motor doesn’t work, picked up another tailgate with a motor. If that doesn’t work I’m switching to manual. Your video will help. Thanks for posting it.
Reminds me of working on my 73 k5 blazer. I kind of miss it but I am happy to have the 72 C20 to play around with. Actually I need to fix the tailgate on the 72.
Great video. I have a manual crank on my blazer. I fought with my tailgate for weeks just before you posted this, and got the whole crank mechanism and latches rebuilt, but gave up on the window. I'm just getting back to it and both the side tracks are bent to hell. Hopefully that'll finally solve the problem. So the side rails have any sort of rubber track? Or does the bottom track just slide through the sides metal on metal?
I got all my parts from LMC trucks website. There are other websites also. Usually find the same price everywhere you look. I'm a big fan of rockauto.com. They may not have all the tailgate pieces but they have name brand stuff for very good prices!
This is a really good video and done well 👏 Thanks for making and sharing it . I'm prepping to do this job soon .
Thanks! I'm glad this helped you!
thanks for the video! i will rebuild mine as well
I'm glad it helps you. Lots of other tailgate videos on RUclips also!

The side tracks have a felt liner like in the doors. They're easy to install too!
Where did you find the parts for the tailgate rebuild? I’ve got a 1978 K5 Blazer and need find parts. Any suggestions?
