I just got my collars and was programming our fence line. There is significant drift which I want to correct for. In some areas, the collar wouldn’t even give the warning sound until you got up to the fence. That’s very concerning for me because I’m trying to prevent the dogs from going under the fence after coyotes. We have very dangerous roads on two sides and accessible really from any fence exit point. So these collars have the potential of giving immense freedom (22 acres) and keeping the dogs ALIVE🙏🏽 It’s hard on some areas to adjust for the gps drift because it would then impede the dogs’ access to areas we want them to roam. All in all I’m grateful for the collars and am doing training. I think I may never have to use more than vibration because my dogs are so sensitive but I’m not against a 10 or lower shock. We use electric netting for livestock and those have very low shocks that provide a psychological barrier that is absolutely incredible and successful at keep coyotes away. And the dogs are traumatized by the fence if they get shocked. I’m shocked almost every day and it’s nothing!! But it just hits the animals in such a scary and unknown way, that they respect it and never forget it. I love your dog💚 What a sweetie💚
We will be working with it more this year. I had some health issues this year that really took my focus away from training. So far our only issue we had was when the collar was charging and not on him, he would know and escape. He is an outdoor dog, kind of and would dig and chew is way out of his shelter, so that was the only real thing so far. I am hoping to update once the good weather is back.
I hope your health improves and you get to enjoy more time with your dog outside!! I’ve had health issues this past year as well and well, I get it🤗 thank you for the video🤩
So thought the same thing too. If you do not have your phone on, you can hear the collar beep, its just quiet. Contact spot on, they have been very helpful with us. They may be able to help you if there is an issue with the collar. One of the SpotOn reps told us that it is loud enough for the dog to pick up on the sound of the collar, due to there keen hearing. Let me know how you make out.
@@PloughmansBackyard I did contact them. Resolved, it wasn’t beeping. Then I went to create new fences and same issue, wouldnt save because it said I crossed over the boundary
Yes try to do what we did. Do the 3 points and then finish and it will automatically draw the line connecting the two and it will finish. That is what we did to finish off this video. We will be trying to do an update at some point and we will try again to manually create the boundary again. I hope things work out for you. Keep us posted how you make out with it. We will Keep you updated how things go on our end also.
@@PloughmansBackyard how’s it going for you? Mine beeps sometimes and not at all other times. Starting to really question this product. Kinda need to be certain it works all of the time
