We live in a heavily wooded area, oaks and palms, my cell phone is usually 1-2 bars, we do have a T-mobile tower for wifi, again, 1 to 2 bars. Will either of these collars
The SpotOn is designed for heavy tree coverage with its Forest Mode, and it has always worked well for me under those circumstances. As far as signal is concerned, the SpotOn also has an Off-Grid mode, which allows you to create an invisible fence with zero signal. Even in flaky coverage areas, the newest SpotOn is universal, so it will always go with the strongest signal, regardless of carrier. I hope that helps! If you're interested in either of these collars, here are some additional discount offers: Save $75 on the SpotOn GPS Fence by using code 'WAF' at checkout: spotonvirtualfence.sjv.io/k0mL1d Save More on the Halo Collar: geni.us/Halo-Collar3GPS-Fence
Halo knocks off $50 for each additional collar. You also don't need to add more subscriptions for different collars, as long as you're using the same plan, same app. SpotOn also offers a discount for additional collar purchases ($100 off) and you don't have to pay a subscription to use SpotOn collars for containment only. However, if you have multiple SpotOn collars and use tracking for both, each requires its own subscription. For containment purposes, however, you can use multiple collars for no additional cost. If you're interested in either of these collars, here are some additional discount offers: Save $75 on the SpotOn GPS Fence by using code 'WAF' at checkout: spotonvirtualfence.sjv.io/k0mL1d Save an Extra $25 on the Halo Collar: geni.us/Halo-Collar3GPS-Fence
I have a long and narrow yard that is approximately 50 feet wide at the start, 100 feet long, and 25 feet wide at the end. I don’t think a circular layout would work for containment. Can I place the boundary markers outside the fence? At what distance from the boundary do the warning signals start for the dog-5 feet or 10 feet? I need this information because my yard is quite narrow. Thank you!
Thank you for this intel. I have 100 acres in Costa Rica and wondering how “waterproof” is the Spot on? The forest mode and off grid mode make this the correct choice but damn if I drop that kind of cash and it quits out after 12 months. Top rated trail cams have failed here in the monsoon season so I’m hesitant . Thank you for your response !
In a few of my reviews, I've completely submerged the SpotOn in water and they are fine. My Dobies have gone swimming with theirs on as well, with no issues. They have an IP67 rating, with 6 meaning high levels of protection against dust ingress and 7 meaning secure when immersed in water for up to one meter for up to 30 minutes. Hope that helps! If you have decided to purchase the SpotOn collar, don't miss out on a $75 discount with code WAF! You can grab it through this link: spotonvirtualfence.sjv.io/NkAYmN
I do. I think the SpotOn is hands and feet above the other competition. Plus, I don't have to pay a subscription for it, just to keep my dogs contained within the invisible fence. Overall, it's just more consistently accurate, regardless of the topography, than any other collar I've worked with. I was really excited about the Halo Collar 4, but it still couldn't match the SpotOn in terms of consistency. Unless something changes (and I'll be sure to make a video about it), I recommend SpotOn over the competition. you have to have a subscription to see where your dog is.
For the Halo, yes. For the SpotOn, not necessarily. You can locate your dog as long as it’s within the boundaries you create, which can extend up to 1,000 acres. If your dog escapes, then yes, you will have to have a subscription with SpotOn to track it. Fortunately, the subscription models for the SpotOn are not as expensive and convoluted as the Halo.
For the SpotOn, each dog requires its own collar and its own cellular subscription. However, you can manage multiple collars through the SpotOn app and share fences between them. For the Halo, each dog also needs its own collar, but all collars can be managed under the same membership plan within the same app account. My Aussie runs through my Halo. I men to have a Amazon reboot shock collar on her to keep her in the yard. It's one of them stronger?
So no matter the pricing
above all options and information you have first hand you would choose spot on above all others as of now?
