  • In this interview I am joined by Lama Lhanang, a spiritual teacher of the Nyingma Longchen Nyingthig lineage of Tibetan Buddhism and an expert in meditation, anuyoga, geomancy, art, cultural and historical studies, and Tibetan medicine.
Lama Lhanang describes his upbringing in a nomad family in Golok, Tibet, and how an encounter with a wrathful mahasiddha changed his childhood for ever.
Lama Lhanang details his education in religion, ritual, and meditation as well as the disciplines of astrology and Tibetan medicine; and recounts stories of his teachers’ miraculous powers and spiritual realisations.
Lama Lhanang also reveals his initial struggles upon arriving in America, highlights the distinctive qualities of American disciples, and shares his perspective on today’s turbulent events such as war in Europe and the Middle East and political division in the USA.

Although I'm Nyingma from South India.... but this is the first time I get to know Lama Lhanang Rinpoche. What a great interview, thank you so much. 🙏 Rinpoche is very lucky to have so many teachers, around 40-50 great Masters.
His students are very very lucky to have such accomplished Master.... but I'm very concern for the next generation of Lama or Rinpoche. Since, many of the great Masters he had mentioned here are no more. I love those miraculous and magical stories of our great Masters who attained superpower..... its mindboggling and very fascinating! 🙏🤯 Hope there is a book about these fascinating stories.
58:11 " Nothing belongs to us, even our body" hits me really hard 😢 and Rinpoche mentioned that War create only war and Hate create only hate. 😢
No any weapon will solve the problems. Only by practicing Buddhadharma, human problems and suffering will end with peace. The world full of ignorant people just don't get that right. May there will be peace in this world. 🙏🪷☸️💎🌈🕊️

Haven't heard his answer yet but enlightenment is omnipotence. So if you're perfectly awakened, you've naturally achieved all siddhis, abilities 🙏
You can add omnipresence and omniscience to the list of enlightened qualities as well 🙏

Good question about prerequisites. Glad he begins with shine, which is of course shamatha (calm abiding - the calming of one's imbalances of attention really) 🙏
