Hey Andrew, I really enjoy your videos :) I would love to know your opinion. Lighting gear gets smaller and cheaper. I am a solo filmmaker most of the time, but I occasionally do slightly bigger commercials or projects with a gaffer. Do you feel the difference between using something like this or the Molus 500B (that comes with power built-in the light) to a nanite 300B\500B? The Nanlite build quality feels good, and I'm drawn to it as a bigger brand. However, you get a bigger package (physically) and for a much bigger price, so I am wondering if it is worth it. If you have time I would love to know your take on it. Thank you!
Depends on the use case. The Nanlite fixtures are definitely quieter with their fans. But in terms of a foot print and price these seem to be the winner. I'm actually getting rid of a lot of my Nanlite gear and keeping these as they are better for transport and still do the job really well
@@AndrewMurphyFilms I have all my Zhiyun lights in one bag. One problem resolved. I don’t need them on battery I usually shoot in a studio but if it’s a deal breaker for you, feel free to send it to me. 🤣
I initially thought this could be interesting as an interview key light, but the loud fan is a deal-breaker. Also I’d probably rather have the controls on a single light than the faff of mounting a controller. No case isn’t good and no battery isn’t either - surely some company will come up with a quiet fan that doesn’t cost the earth..?
I was looking to buy this light. Cage is a minus but, not a deal breaker for me. However, noise and no battery input might be. What order lights would you suggest at this price range guys?
If you want battery power it's hard to find something at this price range unless you're happy to use NPF batteries. Which isn't a great long term solution. If you wanna use battery power it should be V-Mount's so they dont drain too quick and destroy your batteries
Nice review, Andrew! Really like how you put this together. Very thorough and insightful 🙌
Thanks mate!
Amazing mayn!

The Vmount thing is an annoyance, but no carry case is a major fail! Otherwise I love mine.
Yeah right! 2 small things that make a big difference in the low run

@@AndrewMurphyFilms that’s great! I have two G200’s and a G300. I like them so much I’m considering a B500 now haha. Keep in touch man!

Yeah fan is quite loud. Plenty of lights with quiet fans, just not in such a portable form factor!
Just w8 few months untill amaran or neewer release their versión of this kind of lights. They will be good for sure.
