  • The future of high-quality cinematic video lights is here with the Zhiyun Molus G300. This compact, well-designed, and engineered video production light has an output of 300 watts with a max boost of 500 watts. In this video, I'm going to review the Zhiyun Molus G300 after taking it on a recent interview shoot and compare it to my previous lights, the Godox VL200, and my portable battery-operated Godox ML60Bi. I have a feeling, that Zhyiun just paved the way for compact high-output video production lights with this design.

    The output in max mode is about 71.000 lux at 1 meter distance. Zhiyun said it's up to 62.000 but in test it's even higher

    Nice review. I’m so excited for this light. I’m a huge fan of compact design. Hoping in the future a RGB version is created. Zhiyun is doing great things.

    Nice review. Im looking forward to getting my hands on one of these someday and not just for video. 300w will be more than enough light for me to use with my optical snoot for photography.

      That’s a great point. I think it would work out great in a lot of applications. Thanks for watching, cheers!

    500w refers to power consumption, not output.

      You are correct. I thought I listed the power output in a call to action. Maybe I forgot. Cheers!

    It's funny because the G200 came with a case... Why did they take it away?

      It’s definitely missed

      Can't blame them, most of us whom are going to buy it, already goes around with cases for our others gears, so instead of have one more case only for the light, better to lower the price and offer one compact good light so we can pack with others gears we already carry once the case won't fit anything else but the light. I understand whom miss it, but it's something to consider don't having a case as well

    What soft box do you use?

  • @GeologyDude
    @GeologyDude 2 месяца назад

    Yes it’s small and the future. But I’ve heard it’s only one minute at 500w. It’s so hot it’s a potential fire hazard. Fan is noisy. The reflector is much more focused than other lights. … so there are negatives you did not really cover

    • @TomWadeCine
      @TomWadeCine  2 месяца назад

      I didn’t experience those so can’t cover them. Reflectors are an easy swap. I did run the light at the 500w for about 3 minutes with no issue but the room did get noticeably hotter.

      @@TomWadeCine Okay, thx for replying. From the impression I got from some other videos that was a problem.

      Actually I heard of people testing it over 2 hours without overheating issues

    How long does the 500watt mode lasts?

    • @TomWadeCine

      I only ran it for about 10 mins so I don’t know. I can test it out tomorrow.
