and ill be first in line. how fortunate we are that a brilliant director married a brilliant actress and they can combine their brilliance across so many projects
Just wanted to plant the seed that Bryan Fuller who gave us Hannibal, Pushing Daisies, American Gods, and Dead Like Me is doing an a24 horror movie called Dust Bunny. Speaking of Hannibal it will star Mads Mikkelsen, Sigourney Weaver and David Dastmalchian. I am tearing out my hair waiting fo😮r that one.
huge sophie thatcher fan here + stoked to hear you're gonna check out yellowjackets!! s3 is out in february so this is a great time to get into it lol. can't wait to go see companion!
They’ve talked about it before, but the movie is gonna be completely separate from the game. It’s not gonna have any of the same characters or anything like that😞
You haven’t seen YELLOWJACKETS yet?? STOP what you are doing and start WATCHING! 😅 …SO GOOD!! That’s where I discovered, and fell in love, with Sophie Thatcher!!❤
Great video! Life of Chuck isn’t horror though! When I had him on my podcast, he told me he had to fight really hard to make sure it wasn’t listed as a horror movie on IMDb 😂
Alien Earth is apparently not gonna take place 30 years before the ‘79 film, but in fact set two years before. The recent teaser trailer said the show is set in the year 2120 & the events of Alien is 2122.
Yay for Ready or Not 2! But I can't think of a plot for it that wouldn't just be reprising the first film. Maybe she inadvertently joins a cult and has to escape (?)
Don't be down on Dark Tower until you read the books. It's one of the few examples of a 'dark gothic horror western fantasy', just a unique blend of many genres.
Despite the overwhelming amount of (bad) adaptations, one King I’d love to see is The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon! I can imagine with the right director and a strong vision, this could be really eerie.
Until Dawn is one of the few horror games I love to watch others play, I can barely watch horror movies, so even as a gamer I can't play them myself. It has a Scream vibe at times, but overall mixes a few types of late 90s to mid 2000s horror genres. So it'll be interesting to how the movie is different since wildly different things can happen based on your choices.
I saw Presence at a horror film festival in October and looooooved it! Definitely more drama/ thriller than horror, and it’s a slow burn, but the ending is like being hit by a car. It was so good.
The Dark Tower series is very much needed, especially after that movie. This is an amazing, but very complex story that cannot be told in one movie or one season. It's going to take several seasons to do the books justice. I've been waiting for this for so many years and I'm so excited!
So far for next year, I have 4 that I am heavily excited for; Wildwood is a stop motion movie that I am very curious to see. M3GAN 2.0, (hopefully) The Backrooms will be out next year, done by A24! (And this movie isn’t technically horror but maybe dark action) TMNT The Last Ronin
for people interested in playing some Supermassive games, Until Dawn and House Of Ashes are both absolutely amazing and I would recommend playing them both if you like horror, The Quarry is very camp so a lot of people didn't like it but I personally loved it and would also recommend it if you like campy horror. The others [Little Hope, Man Of Medan and The Devil In Me] were not well received at all for many reasons, mainly bad writing and the fact that they're very broken. I would not recommend them personally but I know some people do like them so I think you should research those three thoroughly before buying
i cannot emphasize how happy 12 yo me is about 28 years later, loving 28 days later and hating 28 weeks later this is the sequel i always wished would be made one day
Ready or Not is one of my favorite movies ever, I don't know if i even want a sequel, I can't imagine what the plot could be about. I hope it's worth it and they don't ruin it.
Wow Sarah , you've certainly got your finger on the horror movies pulse ! Really looking forward to the Mike Flanagan universe and a stack of others but not The Conjuring .....too many already . Thank you for another great video .
I was surprised you mentioned del Toro's Frankenstein movie, and even one I hadn't heard of before titled "Brides" about Dracula... but not Maggie Gyllenhaal's "The Bride!", currently scheduled for September 26, 2025. Also, wasn't Lisa Frankenstein a Valentine's Day horror movie?
I think she meant slasher movies specifically (i.e. bloody valentine which she cited as an example), and Lisa Frankenstein is a super amazing horror romcom but not really a slasher. Also, omg why is nobody talking about The Bride! (that I know of) ????
I’d love to see the Carrie series formatted with some found footage elements. It makes sense with how the book is formatted, plus it takes place in 1979 - two years after VHS was introduced to the USA. I’m focusing SO much energy into this happening!
I’m a huge fan of the Dark Tower story/books. I was nervous the one-off movie would be chopped up and awfu, which I was correct about and had wanted a series instead… because the books are incredible!! DT is King’s best work hands down with The Stand being relatively close. You cannot do a one-off movie and get anywhere near the depth of detail of that amazing world King has created!I have high hopes because I enjoy Flanagan’s vision.
Idk why she said we don't need it because we obviously do. This is Kings Magnum Opus and something the fans fans have been patiently waiting for. It's in the right hands now so I'm excited.
So, with Final Destination 6 they changed it from first responders to following a bloodline of a woman who survived a high rise tower restaurant collapsing. It’s called Final Destination: Bloodlines
I think Carrie remake was as good as the original, just a more updated version for us youngsters, it followed it to a T. P.s. I'm 48. Too young to see the the original at the time, lol.
I love Stephen King. I will never get tired of Stephen King. I didn't even know about The Monkey story, though. There's a lot of SK stuff I'm just now discovering and I'm loving it. They tried to do a Carrie series in 2002, but it didn't work. Hopefully it works this time.
See, I really liked the Black Phone. I loved that in took place in the 70's. We had these certain serial killer decades, which cast this dark shadow. I also enjoyed the ghost aspect of it, with the past victim helping out the new victim. 💓
I thought i saw a video that Alien: Earth was set two years before the first Alien movie, but i could be wrong. But it's definitely confirmed that it is set after Prometheus and Covenant.
I'm pumped for anything and everything Dan Stevens, David Dastmalchian, Mike Flanagan & Kate Seigel, and Devon Sawa make, so I'm super hyped for Epilogue and The Ritual in particular. I'm extra psyched for The Monkey because Tatiana Maslany is in it and I LOVE her. Also, even though it's given us very little so far, Companion feels like it could be REALLY good
I’m super excited for the new Conjuring movie. I personally really enjoy them all so I’m excited to see what they come up with this time. I’ve been waiting forever to see if Shelby Oaks will be out so I’m super excited to see that one. And Presence sounds really interesting! I’m gonna have to check that one out.
Wait how did I not know that a Until Dawn movies was happening I loved that game but tbh it felt like a movie already so I am interested in how it will be adapted
I'm really excited for Until Dawn, it's my favorite game so I highly recommend that you actually play it. And I agree if it's meh...I'll probably still love it 😂
21:59 omg as someone who grew up with Scary Movie I hopeee they do it well but im also so nervous because this new generation is so offended by everything and the Scary Movie franchise is literally that
You still haven't seen Yellowjackets?! I'm actually kind of jealous, you have such a ride ahead of you. And season three is dropping on Valentine's Day!
I didn't know that Until Dawn was getting a movie adaptation! That's so exciting! I've been wanting to play the game for a long time and it recently came to Steam, so I'm finally going to be able to play it. Definitely doing that before I go see the movie!
Since i learned Josh Ruben is directing Heart Eyes my interest has been piqued. I mostly know him as a comedian but he was a great director with Werewolf Within so i think this movie has more promise than i initially thought, since i typically enjoy more arthouse-y horror movies
I wouldn't mind seeing another "Conjuering" movie, but I want to see what should be a third Nun movie. We first hear about Maurice in the first Conjuering movie and how he dies, but the Nun 2 leaves off with him leaving with his "new family". So we should at least see what happens to him & the family before that.
Presence is directed by Steven Soderbergh, who can make the most stupid script into an engaging film. Plus his ability to switch genres multiple times in a film seamlessly is unparalleled.
Will you do a year-end ranking for all 2024 horror this year? 🙏🏻
You know it!! Well in a way, 10 best & 10 worst plus ranking all 100 movies I watched this year 👀
@PossessedbyHorror AMAZING!!!!!
@@PossessedbyHorror OH WE ARE GONNA GET FED
@@PossessedbyHorrorAhhhh yes yes so excited !!
Mike Flanagan would find a way to cast his wife even if he made a film about an isolated monastery full of only old monks !
and that's a bit iconic of him unfortunately
And i will love it. I love Kate
reminds me of Rob Zombie, and Sherri Moon. Lol. Although mikes filmography is much better
I don't mind. She's gorgeous. Whenever Mike Flanagan releases a show, I always look forward to seeing her.
and ill be first in line. how fortunate we are that a brilliant director married a brilliant actress and they can combine their brilliance across so many projects
Sophie Thatcher is doing big things in horror! I hope we see more of her!
OMG first time learning this!! I’m so excited now!!
i check imdb what feels like daily hoping for a release date, lol. i cannot wait!
Sounds insane
GODS I CANNOT WAIT FOR DUST BUNNY!!!
Thanks for the heads up!
huge sophie thatcher fan here + stoked to hear you're gonna check out yellowjackets!! s3 is out in february so this is a great time to get into it lol. can't wait to go see companion!
Guillermo said Frankenstein is gonna have a theatrical run
I'm a big Until Dawn fan so i'm excited to see how they do the movie and which outcome they choose for the film.
Big supermassive fan here!!! Can’t wait!!!
They’ve talked about it before, but the movie is gonna be completely separate from the game. It’s not gonna have any of the same characters or anything like that😞
Same here! I’m really excited about the until dawn film but I’m also a little nervous too. I hope they do a good job!
this has been a crazy good year for horror i hope 2025 lives up to it
Your seamless ad transitions wow me every time, Sarah!! As a marketer I appreciate that stuff 💙💙
Thank you I try really hard 🥲
Scream 7 not mentioned 🙂↕️ ur so real for that
You definitely should review YELLOW JACKETS, it's so good ❤
saw sophie in the thumbnail and clicked so fast
same 😂
You know Return to Silent Hill is lost in limbo when it's fallen out of the list 😭😭
You haven’t seen YELLOWJACKETS yet?? STOP what you are doing and start WATCHING! 😅 …SO GOOD!! That’s where I discovered, and fell in love, with Sophie Thatcher!!❤
You forgot wolf man coming January 17th from the director of the invisible man (2020)
Scary Movie with Melissa and Jenna 🤯 that would go off omg I hope they do it!!
Victorian Psycho is based on a book that's coming out early next year and it's excellent.
Heart Eyes already sounded great and then you said Devon Sawa!!
Don't be down on Dark Tower until you read the books. It's one of the few examples of a 'dark gothic horror western fantasy', just a unique blend of many genres.
28 years later comes out the day after my birthday!!
Oh, shoot! That came out 28 years ago!!?😮
SO seated for final destination 6! Fav movies ever. Is it first responders or a roof top restaurant? I hear both
Despite the overwhelming amount of (bad) adaptations, one King I’d love to see is The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon! I can imagine with the right director and a strong vision, this could be really eerie.
I’m so excited about Nosferatu it’s going to come out next year in the UK because we don’t have films in the cinema on Christmas Day.
Finally, some love for Alien Resurrection!
Also, I somehow had no idea a video game just came out??
Warm bodies I’m not sure if that set on valentines but it is another romantic horror movie that came out in February
“Companion” and “The Monkey” is DEFINITELY my most Anticipated right now. 3:10. She should do a SPOOKYStream 1 day, so she could cover everything.
Why they didn't give Flanagan a Salems Lot TV series I'll never understand. Seemed like a no brainer
He's doing a Dark Tower show so he's probably busy with that
He kinda already did one with Midnight Mass
DEFINITELY need a DT series. :) It's the only way to do the magnum opus justice.
I saw Presence at a horror film festival in October and looooooved it! Definitely more drama/ thriller than horror, and it’s a slow burn, but the ending is like being hit by a car. It was so good.

Thank you. Yes it's needed.
I recently discovered your channel, Sarah and it's been a lovely escape. Thank you for being there. And I'm not even a horror fan...per se.

YESSS can't wait to see your 2024 horror rankings! Also you HAVE to watch Yellowjackets! SO GOOD
I would be SO here for a playthrough of Until Dawn!!
PLEAASE
My jaw dropped when I heard there’s gonna be a third Orphan…for the love of god, lay the series to rest 😂
In this day and age they're gonna turn everything and anything into a never ending soap opera
Five Nights at Freddy 2 is coming out in December 5th (idk if it’s even horror)
The second movie is supposed to be a lot more horror because people complained about there not being enough in the first one
I'm sooo excited for Presence!! Steven Soderberg is a pretty solid director, so I'm hopeful.
Ready or Not is one of my favorite movies ever, I don't know if i even want a sequel, I can't imagine what the plot could be about. I hope it's worth it and they don't ruin it.

We need something from Ari Aster :(
He's Moving away from horror and doesn t seem to want to be associated with the genre. I dont keep my hopes high for that

Did you ever watch “A Ghost Story” -not really horror, but existential and that can be scary…also tissues to cry will be needed!🖤
really random but i love the clips on your hair it looks so cute!
Frankenstein will have a theatrical run, confirmed by GDT
5:48 YEESSS! Yellowjackets is soooo good
you look absolutely GORGEOUS in this!!! This will sound like a horror movie fan cliche but black is your colour
i am most excited for heart eyes. Thank you for doing these it helps me stay in the loop

The Monkey is releasing on my birthday🤯 Heart Eyes and Companion sounds interesting.
yes yellowjackets is amazing it is so underrated
And congrats on your daughter 2 years old wow!!!! 😊
Great video! Speaking of American Psycho, they confirmed there will a remake of and Luca Guadagnino will be directing - which is an interesting choice

Sinners
Guillermo del Toro's Frankenstein

sophie thatcher newest scream queen 🙏🏼
Was hoping and waiting for you to mention scary movie. Can’t wait!!
Hopefully we get some true gems in 2025. The Substance was the stand out for me. I was blown away by the movie. I am hoping that 2025 brings it✨🙌🏼✨
i'm SO excited for the Alien TV show. I love the universe and I agree there is so much more we can do!
thort the little girl in black phone was brilliant.
I've been waiting for this one!
definitely read the trigger warnings on yelowjackets! i know you have talked about being sensitive to topics regarding children so just be careful
Final destination 6 is literally my most anticipated film of the decade ! 🎉
There is also a 2002 remake of Carrie starring Angela Bettis as Carrie
I'm just glad Alien Resurrection is getting some love. I watch that one every few months.
