The thing I love about Dime’s playing is that he has such a smooth transition from legato to picked notes, which coincidentally enough gives me the most trouble when learning any of his solos lmao

Any tips for moving the thumb down the neck easily? Mine tends to get anchored and lags behind as I got up the fretboard, mostly because I am playing sitting down and using my hand to support some of the weight of the guitar. You don't seem to have the same issue while sitting down.

With the squeals you flick the string with your left hand and touch the harmonic that you want while simultaneously bombing the tremolo and then raising it to the pitch you want. Dimebag made a tutorial video and it’s on RUclips

right after you pull the string with the left hand to play the whammy pull put your finger on 5th fret natural harmonic while you pulling the bar... That's how you get the dime squeal......

How do you keep your ring finger from touching the strings when you're doing the hammer-on runs with the long stretches? It gets so noisy when i try to do it. My ring finger seems to reeeally want to follow my pinky.
+snicklefritzfry I used to have the same problem but if you exercise moving your fingers independently then you should find it easier to do those big stretched runs
Do you ever use a pick? I've been using my fingers alone for a long time, is it still possible to get a good sound like that? You seem fine without one :)
