ABOUT:
Hi, I'm Wendy, and I have been on a sewing journey ever since my mom taught me how to make little outfits for my dolls. I studied engineering and business, had an office job for two years, and then quit to embark on a lifelong sewing adventure on RUclips. Subscribe to join me on the adventure, and maybe make your own clothing too! Thanks for watching ❤️ Хобби
Her voice is so soothing, she's like the Bob Ross of DIY.
iʼve never thought about that but youʼre so right
😅😂
It totally is. I can really take in what she's saying.
Tbh my boyfriend said exactly the same thing.
That’s a great comparison!!! Lmaooooooooo
When the sad music started with the mint green bag I thought something awful was going to happen to that bag and I was heartbroken too 🤭😂
i- my thrift store bag section could never
Wendy. I almost thrifted that EXACT ORANGE BAG. I'm so glad you took it home
I love you so much this is the benefit of us lurking the same hood we're like speaking through thrift items hahaha
8:34 when it went b&w i started freaking out. i thought you were about to say the tide to go messed the bag up😭
Lol! I admit it was a surprise to me too when my editor sent it to me! But the bags are in great condition now :)
@@withwendy lol glad i wasn't the only one to freak out! yeah, they look great! 💕
ME TOO
Micellar water is great for cleaning off makeup and other stains from fabric. This tip recently saved my friends wedding dress when things went awry on her big day.
Okay yes, the Amelia bag is IT
I love it so much, it’s even nicer now with a crossbody chain!!
I actually think the gold chain on the Gigi bag suits it because of the gold embroidered details on it :)
The black croc bag has the straps like that because you can make them longer by removing them from the bottom lock
Lol, I love the way you're showing the bags off in the pop up ovals!
(7:18) "Doing a hand motion so you don't forget what your looking for"...Love that!!
Wendy! That patchwork sweater you're wearing gave me a great idea!
So I have a bunch of old shirts that are wearing out and I have been trying to figure out what to do with them... They don't really give me enough material individually to make a new shirt out of, but pieced together I think they would make a neat sweater. Thanks, Wendy! :D

I am obsessed with the Toy Story 2 scene too! It's exhilarating for us DIYers / organisation enthusiasts. 😂
Curious if anyone has tips for dealing with that "thrift store smell" (if you love to thrift you know what I mean haha) when it comes to items that can't be washed like bags and other accessories? I've had some luck with rubbing alcohol or vinegar but it's been kinda hit and miss
Keeping an item outside in a safe place to air it out for a few hours, warm soapy spot wash with a gentle scent, a lavender pouch, or laundry sheet (store inside or rub on item)
try sticking them in the freezer! it'll kill bacteria and get rid of that smell ;)
I have a thrifted bag that is leather and very old. It has such a strong smell and I have done everything possible to get rid of it. I just accept it and know that it's so old and wear it anyways. I haven't had anyone else notice around me anyways.... I used vodka inside it, dryer sheets and tried airing it out. I think I might try essential oils inside it and rub the entire inside with lavender next. LOL! We shall see!
Elle Lin Why do they have a thrift store smell. Lol never understood that
Just spray on some vodka mixed with water ;)
Hurray! I finally got here within the first hour after upload to comment With Wendy around ;)
I just wanted to say I still very much love your content and look forward to whatever you have more in store!!!
The Amelia bag is so you! ☺️ I think I like the white/orange one most 🙌 but they're all great finds- I have yet to try thrifting bags so this video makes me want to!
Wendy! I loveeed this video! I thought it was brilliant! Thank you for showing people how sustainable you can be by showing a step by step process of reusing and repurposing products giving them a longer life! Gotta try this at home!
This is what I needed. I’m in northern Cali and I’m seeing a nonstop flow of high quality purses like this. Stuff from just ten years ago is better quality than what we can get now. Stuff that doesn’t fall apart is in high demand right now.
These bags are so cute! Why don't they sell bags like these in my local thrift store!
I think maybe on the 2nd bag, the patent croc, those straps unclip and slide up so the strap can be used long as well as short?
Was going to type this also. Totally agree 👛👜☆
Yup, had a Burbery bad that did the same thing.
I love your creativity and energy 😍
Them bags are so cute!
Still waiting for you to hit 1 mil, you deserve the subs
Been refreshing my feed for this!!!
Very nice finds. Thanks for posting, and showing your clean up ideas.
Wendy ! thank you so much for this video ! i was lucky enough to get a bag from yours :) i have been following your page for a few years now and you really got me into sewing, i tried most of your swing tutorials and i love all your new videos about sustainable fashion :) i have now created a little brand with my friends, just thank you for what you are doing and all the great content ! can't wait to receive the bag :)
Love this concept! And the style of your videos I can tell you put in a lot of time in editing👌🏻 love your channel ❤️🥰
All of the bags are amazing. Loved them 😍
It's so satisfying listening to you Wendy. Your voice is amazing
CONGRATS ON 900K❤️
You have the best taste. I loved everyone of those unique looking bags.
Love your channelll wenddyyy and those bagsss
OH MY GOODNESS!!! 900K SUBS!!!! AHHHHHH CONGRATULATIONS WENDY
Those bags are amazing!
I love that little green one ♥️
Thanks for posting! Lot good info! I love purses, and earrings!
im really glad i live in toronto, i feel like i have way better luck thrifting here than back in my hometown! also i like to hit up thrift shops near older neighborhoods with a lot of houses for sale bcus it means that its likely an older person moved out of the home they raised their family in and are probably going to donate stuff before they move ;) i've been needing a new everyday bag and i think i will spend some time searching for the perfect one to thrift!
All bags are so beautiful 😍😍😍
Loved the orange one! ❤️
This is a great video Wendy! I thrift a lot of handbags and love to find unique bags. You can also use magic eraser sometimes too on bags that have any kind of stains. I have used it on real leather and as long as you test a small part of the bag first, it should be good. I I love the orange bag so much! I am currently searching for an orange one, lavender and all white.
Great finds! Baby wipes are great to clean bags, also use Lysol travel spray to disinfect the inside.
Your videos are so amazing! Sometimes I just like to watch for aesthetic purposes lol
New viewer as of today! Love the videos! Almost as much as you love that tan sweater! It’s been in the last five videos I’ve binged 🤣🤣 it’s a GREAT sweater though!!
Great video! I've actually never thrift shopped for bags
That’s my boo Wendy looking like a snack in that thumbnail photo 🥰🥰🥰
4:00 the latch is so that it allows you to extend the length of the strap of the bag
Your voice is sooooo soothing
love the clementine one
'can i take a picture' was the cutesttt
Luv your earrings!
I have the crocodile bag but in smooth red!
I've been thrifting bags from VV for so long! I have so many cute tiny bags and I really hope I bump into you someday :) I secretly hope that I do every time I visit the Bloor St. W location.
Wow, that VV is way cleaner and better organized outside the Halloween season. I've only ever visited around that time and it's been a dump.
Your earrings are gorgeous 😍
All the bags are so cute, you are so lucky!!! Btw this is unrelated but may I know what blush are you wearing 😍
I love your sweater! Where's it from? 😍😍
carrying the orange bag looked like a nickelodeon choice award blimp, I'm here for it
Beautiful 😍 thrift shops are lacking here ugh
I love your nail colour! Would you mind sharing the polish with us, by any chance?
Those earrings are beautiful. I love the bags too, but personally need something bigger that can serve as a diaper bag in a pinch (I’ve got two in diapers still 😅)
The bianca bag I beautiful
New subbie here! I LOVE YOUR EARRINGS!
Omg is this the value village at lansdowne?
it funny to think that i watched my first video by you about 4 ish years ago, FINALLY made the hoodie
@Killer_potato_chip Xx you give me great hope that one day I might actually make something too hahaha!!!! 😜🤣🤩 Good to know I'm not the only one. And congrats on making the hoodie, I hope you're thrilled with your result!
Kate Grant thank u, i'm sure one day you'll make something that will absolutely perfect 😊
So far my theory on post-Halloween thrifting has paid off, stay tuned for the next test in 2020. What are your tips for finding that lovable pre-loved bag? And don't forget to give Bumble Bizz a try like the professional you are 😎💛💛 bumble.onelink.me/3396940749?pid=influencer&c=Withwendy
Anyone knows what brand is the clementine bag from? Loved itttttt
Can you please let us know where you get your clothes and your nail polish color? Always so chic!!
How did you do the blur over the video effect? Where it blurs on the video itself at 10:05, that's rly cool
LCBO in the background - I had no idea you were Canadian !!!
I have a gorgeous vintage glowmesh bag a family friend gifted me, however the inside is all suede which has crumbled over time. Any tips or advice to fixing/removing this lining as effectively as possible?
i really really love the second bag i need one any idea of ghe brand ?
I could never, please which Toronto value village has half of this 😭 I need location recommendations Wendy !
I totally do the hand motions for the tools Im looking for #mytribe btw if you work in a group, at first people thought I was perhaps more than quirky but, gesturing the action of what I'm looking for helps others help you.
The thing about the crock black bag, you can detach them from the bottom to make the strap longer!!
I bought that white valentissime bag in Italy about 10 years ago. The hooks for the shoulder straps fell out pretty quickly and it is definitely not real leather.
The strap contraption is so that you can unhook and make the strap longer
Hi Wendy, can you make a DIY Chanel 2.55 inspired bag?
Your wow is like the wow meme xD
I'd try a clothes steamer, if you have one. If not, it may be a handy thing to spend $15-20 on for any future sewing/crafting/cleaning/staging needs.
Liked just for that awesome scene in toy story.
♥️ u Wendy
It would be interesting to see what gems you could find at a thrift store that isn't Value Village. Here in Halifax, Value Village is the most expensive thrift store around...a lot of the time it's cheaper to go to the original point of purchase and buy the item new, than to purchase from there. Mainly because (here anyway) they price by brand name, rather than item type.
My old neighborhood! Omg be careful! I was chased down the street by some guy filming me. It’s one of the reasons I took a spontaneous trip to Detroit.
Omg where is your sweater from?
What the heck these bags are fantastic! I wonder if any of them were donated by the same owner?
This makes me want to go to my thrift store lol
How I clean all of my cotton cloth shell handbags -OR- cloth lining to pleather or vinyl shell handbags that I've either bought from Goodwill, Thrift Store's, Yard Sales or Flea Markets, that are dirty..
I use a mixture if ~65 to 70% very warm purified water(there should be no chemicals in your water)+ 35 to 30% cleaning ammonia~ ... But first, I would spot clean a very small area on the inside of the handbag on the bottom part with a small amount of mixture and let it set for 24hrs to make sure you don't ruin your handbag..
If you don't have a problems, what I would use is a big clean plastic tub, fill with purified water/ammonia(mix), submerge my handbags (make sure handbags are cover completely with ammonia/water mixture) if needed, take another clean plastic tub place it on top of your handbags and put something very heavy to weight down handbags to make sure they are covered completely with water/ammonia mixture..
About every hour or so, lift 2nd tub off handbags, moving your handbags gently, swishing them around (like that of a agitator in your wash machine on gentle cycle) for about 10 - 15mins and if your handbags are really filthy dirty, you may need to increase ammonia and decrease your purified water and change water/ammonia mixture several time over 24 - 48hrs.. Rinse several times with purified warm water and drip dry hanging upside down.. This works wonders, better then taking them to the dry-cleaners...
Make sure to dry and polish the metal on your handbags too...
And what I was told is that this is cheaper to use and they say it works better, I don't know---I wouldn't use it!
But it's fermented urine!...
What kind of camera do you use for these videos?
Maybe with the Dionne bag the straps might be able to come off to make a clutch.
It’s just something I thought when you were pulling the straps.
Dang that white leather purse wasn’t on the site. Wendy was it already sold?
I thought Dan's bday highlights would be here too
It extends into a cross body bag!!!!!!
Can u share the address of the value village . The one around mine neighbourhood suckssssssss.❤️❤️❤️
The fact that the "Amelia bag" was my favorite... Well...
Great video ✅ Keep talking because you're voice is sonething else 🤣🤣 it has a calming mode
8:33 LMFAO savage
I knew someone who had a bag like the orange one...stuff had a tendency to just pour out of it.
I have a leather handbag that ruined by a marker stein..can you do a video on how to reuse this bag again by using suitable ideas for the leather bags..thank you for sharing this
Can you please make the bottega pouch bag
What kind of plant is that in your kitchen? :)
Take my picture!!
I don't even wear purses but I love thrift stores.
