I loved how creative this episode was! The phone was adorable and it reminded me that I could use simple stitches for fixes rather than buying or making new clothes!
Omg I've been filming alterations of A STACK of thrifted pieces, THEN I STARTED TO PUT THAT OFF TOO. Thank you for this beautifully edited kick in the butt 😘
I'm going to use the darning stitch on my vintage wool coat with a moth hole!! I've been putting it off for too long because I didn't know how to fix it!
My GOD i absolutely LOVE that bebop ish jazz you've got playing on the background there, it just mekes me feel so upbeat and like YES lets repair our freaking clothes, YES! You should considder using more of thar kind of music, it just gives the video such a good overall mood
I live in America and thought that we didn’t have a savers in my area...but we do have a value village (at least for a fact where my grandma lives). I never knew they were the same thing
I also procrastinate mending, too 😅I think a large part of it is that I’m an amateur sewist, so knowing where to start can be intimidating. That makes these mending videos as inspirational as they are helpful!! Also, I have a suggestion: I think it would be cool if you did a mending series called “Get Mendy withWendy”😮
Thank you for being on RUclips making your videos. I suffer from pretty bad depression and watching you helps me get through some of my days. I wish there was a way I could’ve contacted you personally I don’t know if you ever get to see this but I just wanted to say thank you.
withwendy 😭you replied!!!😭 I watch your videos because your laugh makes me smile. But also you keep me inspired to sew. I’ve been sewing since I was 5 and you can imagine how tapped the creative well can get. Bu I’m over the 🌜 knowing you’ve read this. 😭😍💖😭 thank you for finding the time. 😭😍💖😭
Thanks for making this video! It helped me fix up a jacket I thrifted awhile ago that had shoulder pads in it that had gone all wonky. I undid some of the lining and took out the shoulder pads and thanks to your demo of the ladder stitch I was able to stitch up the lining no problemo!
this felt like a wes anderson movie, wendy girl you are amazingly capable, creative, delightful, watching you succeed at every task you set out for yourself is sososo satisfying, makes up for all the 5 minute crafts clips i've regrettably watched while scrolling facebook
I love your editing style! It's so unique and engaging! (Althoughi found the drums at a constant double time swing throughout the video a bit stressful) I also really liked your idea of pretending you were answering questions through a hotline, very creative!
Guilty! I once took 3 years to mend an item in my pile. It would have taken like 10 minutes. But nope I left it there. After I finally fixed it I was like what the heck me?
wendy! i've been working on reorganizing and redecorating my bedroom over the past few weekends. i love putting your videos on my tv in the background! it puts me into a more creative mindset and motivates me to make a space that makes me happy. love you!
you are creativity and craftsmanship all wrapped up in one cute bundle!! So glad I get to watch your brilliant ideas turn into awesome content on RUclips.
I have finished designing, cutting , and sewing my first ever dress 🤗 I am proud of my self and so thankful for your channel to encourage me to start ... Lots of Love from Arabian girl 😘
Clicked on your video and immediately went to grab two coats that both needed some mending. Managed to fix one pocket during the video and the other within five minutes. Turns out I just needed your video and 5 more minutes to get months of irritation fixed ;)
This was so adorable and quirky while being helpful, wow! That hat looks adorable on you, definitely goes with that hairstyle. I need to work on my sewing game! Savers rocks (or Value Village is a cute name too 😉)
Wendy!!!!! I loved this video!!!!!! The editing and the acting clips were so cute and creative! And on top of all that, the information was actually super informative and helpful. Thank youu!! Sending you love and support! Keep it up!! 🥰🤗❤️
Great video! This was the push I needed to fix that button on my coat. I had no idea what the green pieces would turn out to be and I was delightfully surprised!
Wendy!! This was so good!!! Fave vid of yours so far I think, only just..I have many other favs haha but all this is so good to know for upcycling and keeping your clothes, which we should all do a lot more of. And I love how you made the format so playful and fun 💜
Thanks to you and a couple of other youtubers i've been thrifting almost exclusively and found some gems you have no idea!! hahaha so thanks for inspiring me and changing the world!!
This year I am working on mending my clothes! So far I have shortened the straps of a tank top that didn't fit quite right and sewed patches onto the inner thighs of a pair of jeans that had gotten super worn out. I've always been an avid thrifter but this year I'm also working on bringing really nice thrifted finds into my wardrobe and not buying anything new.
I am deffo saving this! Have recently started to learn to mend my clothes (am also a fan of visible mending). Also the style of this video is just *chef's kiss*
Omg I never thought about making hats out of anything other than jersey fabrics (usually leftovers from other projects)! I often see small blankets that have at least one corner that was _really_ loved by a teething baby, or a toddler who like to chew on stuff, so they're heavily discounted at the store. Will pick one up the next time I'm there!
This was edited in such a cute, quirky, and fun way! I loved it!!!! I definitely gotta get to mending my clothes too 🙄 hahaha. Can't wait for the next video Wendy!!
Hi Wendy 👋🏽 Just want to say - your videos are amazing. I love how you’ve edited this one in particular with the “hotline”. Your content is always so engaging, informative, entertaining and inspiring. I appreciate your focus on sustainability and presenting it to your viewers in a way that is creative and fun. Keep doing what you’re doing :) Much love from Australia 💕
Oh oh oh ... that bag! I was just at National Thrift yesterday, and their 50% off sale categories for the day included bed and bath linens ... I did buy one curtain with grommets, but if I'd been thinking in terms of gifts I could have bought so many more!
Hey I am doing that today too! Lol I have already finished fixing a romper that was too long and a shirt that the collar needed to be stitched on again. I only jumped on RUclips to see a previous tutorial on how to mend holes and saw this and clicked.
Thumps up even before watching....bought a suit last week but had to buy buttons today to change them. Also got lace to put on a t-shirt. I like putting my own spin on regular stuff so nobody knows where I got it. I am thinking of doing repairs for people...not sure what to charge....
This video is a kick in the pants (precise phone placement aides in making it ring!). The VV (both of them) in Seattle closed (land prices gone berserk) and I'm recovering by shopping my own home (and making produce bags from my previous thrifted curtain sheers). I wish the sweater darning had been shown, but I'll bet that instruction is somewhere in your videography.
This was so cute! My friends are always asking me to sew buttons and holes for them because I have the most basic sewing knowledge but it surprises me that so few other people do!
Oh Wendy if only I could have called you for advice about mending my dog's bed. She digs at it and eventually wore through part of the fabric. But it's a bed with bolsters and it's not straightforward to me to fix it. I was going to just get her a new bed but she LOVES this one (despite the fact that SHE dug the hole in it accidentally). So I decided to try to repair it and I was thinking of you the whole time. I cannot believe the dumb mistakes I've made so far but I'm hoping it will work in the end. After I eat lunch and watch this vid I am going to get back to it. :) You are giving me hope that I can do it.
Update - I fixed it and she got in and laid down so content. Wish we could post a pic to reply. The look on her face was priceless. Thank You Wendy for giving me the confidence to push through and fix that darn bed that I can't find to purchase anymore. My old lady Kate the Husky thanks you. :)
I’ve been doing the same thing about saving the extra buttons for about... maybe 8-9 years. And actually i realised that many clothes come with the same style of buttons. I chaged all the buttons of one blouse without having to go and buy new ones. And they are all the same 🤪
Yes, I need to mend 2 pieces and fully DIY one pair of pants. Thank you Wendy for reminding me, that if you love your clothes and take good care of them, they will make you look fab.
Hi from Montreal! I love the style of your videos. The bright colours, clean lines, music and humor reminds me of Wes Anderson. Very cool, very stylish - keep it up :)
Update: after months of stray fuzzy green lints in my hair, I finally gave the bucket hat a lining! ruclips.net/video/fIZpdlRsYM8/видео.html
I love how you've embraced such a quirky and fun style in your filming and editing. Keep it up! Absolutely love it.
Reminds me of the phone in powerpuff girls lol
Január
this is a Wes Anderson production and you cant tell me otherwise
totally
Wes Wendy
Wesdy Anderson
I loved how creative this episode was! The phone was adorable and it reminded me that I could use simple stitches for fixes rather than buying or making new clothes!
Oh boy. Just the reminder I needed to address all my clothing that has been shoved in a corner.
A seamstress and an actress?! Only a matter of time before the Oscars know your name! Lol
LOL yall kill me, thank you for your great kindness
Omg I've been filming alterations of A STACK of thrifted pieces, THEN I STARTED TO PUT THAT OFF TOO. Thank you for this beautifully edited kick in the butt 😘
You can do it Letitia!!!
The bucket hat was so unexpected and I'm LIVING for it! Also, re: editing, SLAY QUEEN
I was wondering if you’d consider making a diy weighted blanket that’s price friendly and eco friendly. ✨🌸
Woven Coven I’d like to add washable somehow. Maybe with a duvet cover that keeps the blanket clean
I made one with rice and two fleece blankets!! Cost me less than €10!! Its realky easy to do i recomend the sorry girls video :)
Lola Jansen yeah I’ve seen that video but I’m asking for a version that’s not like the process they do.
The hat reminds me of Ann Hathaway’s gray hat front he princess diaries 💛
GASP I didn't realize this but that makes me so happy!!
So funny, I’ve been doing this exact thing for the last few days! So nice to have so much stuff back in my wardrobe.
Giving your clothes a big warm WELCOME BAAAACK!!
I live in America and thought that we didn’t have a savers in my area...but we do have a value village (at least for a fact where my grandma lives). I never knew they were the same thing
This video is so creative! 💖💖💖 Might be my fav from yours so far!!! 🙌🏼
I loved this for so many different reasons from the editing to the simplistic nature of it. 10s across the board 👏🏿🔟👏🏿🔟👏🏿🔟
I also procrastinate mending, too 😅I think a large part of it is that I’m an amateur sewist, so knowing where to start can be intimidating. That makes these mending videos as inspirational as they are helpful!!

I can’t describe how much I love the way you did this video! Not only is it extremely helpful but so fun and beautifully put together ❤️
I loved this video, the music, the phone, the fictional dialogue... genius!
Thank you for being on RUclips making your videos. I suffer from pretty bad depression and watching you helps me get through some of my days. I wish there was a way I could’ve contacted you personally I don’t know if you ever get to see this but I just wanted to say thank you.
Thanks so much for writing this! I have hard days too, and likewise there have been many times where a kind comment has given me encouragement 💙
withwendy 😭you replied!!!😭 I watch your videos because your laugh makes me smile. But also you keep me inspired to sew. I’ve been sewing since I was 5 and you can imagine how tapped the creative well can get. Bu I’m over the 🌜 knowing you’ve read this. 😭😍💖😭 thank you for finding the time. 😭😍💖😭
ugh the editing & sound on this are SO GOOD. also i love mending content, its such an important (& fun!) part of the life cycle of clothes!
Thanks for making this video! It helped me fix up a jacket I thrifted awhile ago that had shoulder pads in it that had gone all wonky. I undid some of the lining and took out the shoulder pads and thanks to your demo of the ladder stitch I was able to stitch up the lining no problemo!

Your creative direction and vision is just insane and lovely and such a pleasure to watch
Guilty! I once took 3 years to mend an item in my pile. It would have taken like 10 minutes. But nope I left it there. After I finally fixed it I was like what the heck me?
But in the end you did it *high five :)
This video is beyond aesthetically pleasing. Literally hypnotizing and so creative and cute!
I love that you use a stroopwafel jar for the buttons!
very entertaining and learned some nice tricks. I would love to see a part 2 like this :D
Thanks that's so nice to hear!
This video is so cute! I love how you made it into a story/ fake commercial/ tutorial all in one.
I just love the style you make these videos! They are not just tutorials, they are art.

I read the comments first and was definitely not disappointed with the editing. Very nice!
Clicked on your video and immediately went to grab two coats that both needed some mending. Managed to fix one pocket during the video and the other within five minutes. Turns out I just needed your video and 5 more minutes to get months of irritation fixed ;)

That was adorable! Loved it! The instructional clips went a bit fast for me but I could watch this type of video all day! So cute!
Great video! This was the push I needed to fix that button on my coat. I had no idea what the green pieces would turn out to be and I was delightfully surprised!

I make most of my income from alterations and repairs. I love all your helpful tips along the journey!
Weeeeendy your hair looks so beautiful! I know this video is NOT about your hair, but please consider showing us how you styled it so nicely!
aw thanks! I'll work on an IG video soon!
I am deffo saving this! Have recently started to learn to mend my clothes (am also a fan of visible mending). Also the style of this video is just *chef's kiss*

I'm so going to use the "ripped jeans stitch". I've been throwing out pants because they rip at my inner thigh. Now I can save them!!
This is such a cute video!! I really like how you presented the tips and tricks in a creative way. Such a great idea!
She gets points on the creativity for this video
I am lucky enough to have inherited my grandmother's button jar, which I have been adding too!
This was edited in such a cute, quirky, and fun way! I loved it!!!! I definitely gotta get to mending my clothes too 🙄 hahaha. Can't wait for the next video Wendy!!

Will you make a bathrobe with thrifted towels? I would love to see that 😍

WENDY !!!! This was such a fun and helpful video ! I’m SO excited to be the one to see if I’m showing my friends your channel
There is Savers in England too.
It may not be the same company, but it's a discount store too.
this was SUCH a cute video! and a good way to motivate me to repair all the socks with holes in them
