ABOUT:
Hi, I'm Wendy, and I have been on a sewing journey ever since my mom taught me how to make little outfits for my dolls. I studied engineering and business, had an office job for two years, and then quit to embark on a lifelong sewing adventure on RUclips. Subscribe to join me on the adventure, and maybe make your own clothing too! Thanks for watching ❤️ Хобби
And now I'm smelling that clean and orderly studio smell :) I wanted to share this as some motivation for everyone on a crafting journey to make some space for your creativity ❤️
Wendy I’m a huge fan please don’t ignore me but it’s stressing me out I can’t find any pictures or RUclips videos on how to make overalls from scratch but instead of overalls can u please do a overall bib cropped top from scratch it would mean the world to me I really wanna know how to make one from scratch
I would like to know where did you get your pegboard from? I like it !!
Hey Wendy! I'd love to see a super helpful video on sewing patterns , understanding them , organizing them and so forth :-)
Dont know how relevant the advice is 2 years later, but I saw a system that one fashion student (I’d link her but I honestly forgot her YT name and I just didn’t end up subscribing) that can be helpful
She cut (with a special tool but I guess just scissors will also work) a circle in every pattern piece, obviously in a part of a pattern that won’t compromise the whole piece, and just hang it on some metal wire (like the one Wendy used for bobbins and threads). I thought it was a genius way to store them without the mess!
You should make produce bags with the mesh! Super useful and great for reducing waste :) also make great presents!
Automatic like from me, I’m learning a a lot from your channel. I’m trying to get back into sewing 🙏🏾
wow this was SEW inspiring! I'm just getting ready to do a full overhaul of my sewing/craft space & I'll definitely be looking into those lockers!
I love them!! Really lightweight and keep things looking neat from the outside :)
i rarely compliment ppl on tour videos bcs they come off obnoxious but yours is very nice. I rly like the ikea lockers it gives a modern school/clean minimal vibe. I love it.
I'm so glad for youtube - where else can you find others who enjoy organizing as much as you do! lol Love your space!
Thank you! I have a really small sewing/crafting area and this gave me some really good ideas 🤗
Hi Wendy, it's very rare to find people on RUclips who is as original and relevant as you, keep up the great work 💛💛
Love this space!
Wah this was so nice to watch! I'm don't have a sewing space- but anyone can use your decluttering tips for other areas around their place! Thanks for another fun videooo :3
Wow 2 videos in 3 days 😱 love it 💗
holy moly I am so glad I found your channel. getting a machine for my birthday at the end of this month and the sewing co-op in my city seems to be not so active, so i turned to youtube to learn (as we all do). thank you so much for spreading your sewing wisdom!
Love your videos, Wendy!! So cool seeing your studio :) Would love other organizing videos of other spaces/rooms too. I'm one of those people who watches your vids but doesn't sew, but learning how to sew is on my list of things I want to do!
Thank you for making these sewing organization videos, I really needed that visual motivation to finish organizing my craft room.
Loooove it! I really want a room like this 🤩
YES Wendy!!!!!!! I need this in my life!!! My sewing space is so unorganised that I rarely find myself sewing now! I've also joined Bunz in my area and I totally agree that it's much better for the environment! Thanks a ton, Wendy!
Aw this is amazing!! Whenever I'm lacking motivation I find cleaning the space makes it exciting to get to work :) Happy bunzing!!
@@withwendy Thanks! I'm going to get on the cleaning train asap! Plus, I've got a whole folder on my computer for sewing inspiration/projects for the summer. It's spring and it's still raining in Vancouver, aaahhhh!
Thank you so much for your videos. They are so educational, fun to watch and packed full of ideas...especially for someone just starting out.
...your music got me 💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽
So glad I found your channel [just recently] 🙌🏽
Love love love from the U.S 💕
Can't wait to see your futur project with the mesh! I love this kind of video it is sooo motivating, I wish I had my own working space for projects
Hey Wendy! I really like this series so far 😊 I have been sewing on and off for a couple of years but usually just easy stuff with the same materials.
I'd really like to try new fabrics but I have no idea how to treat the different ones and what's special when working with them.
Do you think you make a video about the different kinds for clueless people like me? 😅
This is in perfect timing because I've just started organizing my entire room!
your editing is always so on point! i love what you do!
Congrats! Love the waste bin in the drawer idea! So handy!
Waste bin in the drawer is genius! Totally doing this!
I NEED TO ORGANIZE. Thank you for the inspiration!
Omg please make a video explaining the different stitches and their purposes!! I love your videos I’m so inspired 🌟🌸
This was sew helpful ;) thanks for the inspiration! My sewing space is looking so much better now!
Yes!!! Just what I needed :)
Omg you are so creative and sweet! Such a role model❤️
Love this! You have given me many wonderful ideas for my workroom! Thank you!
I love your videos!! it’s really inspiring me to stop procrastinating and get back to sewing 🥰
I see it’s been a year since this video, but is this series ever gonna come back ?? I would love more basics to get more comfortable before diving into your bigger projets.
Again thank you for you videos they’re so helpful ✨❤️
Your film set up is really cool and so is your studio!!!! 🤩🤩🤩
can you do a quick tid bit about your lighting set up and what you use i would greatly appreciate it! ;)
You just made organising stuff so much fun... Btw the music is 😍👌😘👌
omg i definitely need more small boxes! i didn't even have a bobbin box until recently so one of my drawers was basically the world's largest, most difficult knot puzzle 🙄 one thing i *do* have in order are all my works in progress though. each one has its own paper shopping bag with all the necessary fabric, zippers, d rings etc inside, and a clear plastic sleeve (or a large envelope) with the pattern. if something's missing, i'll put a gift tag with a shopping list and the project name on it, and sometimes a small bag with fabric samples (for when i need matching zippers or additional fabric) 😊
Wendy why don't you use your mesh to make reusable produce bags for going to the store? I don't know if you have already but thats what came into my head first!
She already made that
Love your setup. Need a sewing room like yours..
Nice video, great editing, pleasing music.
Awesome useful tips!
😀😀😀
love the peg board.
Thank you for the inspiration!
hiii!!! can you do a types of fabric and ideal uses thank youuu!!!! I really get excited whenever you post a new vid bc i've been wanting to sew myself heh
ruclips.net/video/ruRhkpys83o/видео.html
I found it pretty helpful!
oh em gee - double upload?? :O love it!
Can you do an in-depth sewing room tour? I'm really curious about what you have close at hand in the drawers of your desk and why you have the particular colors displayed on the peg board.
Love your videos!!!
Thanks Wendy I’m really disorganized I needed it
Thank you Wendy ❤️!
Hi Wendy! This video and series is so awesome!! I was wondering where your table is from? Are the drawers beneath the table attached or separate from the table? I really like your set up and want to get my stuff organized thank you so
much for the vids!! ❤️❤️❤️
Great video! Nice organization!
Your sewing room is a goal
Is the pegboard a diy? I neeeed 😭
I dont have a room dedicated to sewing but I really would like to have one! I sew in my own bedroom (which is really cramped). With all the furniture around and I don't have a desk for drawing and cutting out patterns so I do them on the floor where a meter of fabric can't be laid out flat 😂
I wish I could have a room like yours someday!
You know you're an og fan when you recognize all the diys from old videos as she is organizing the closet.
I love this series, it's really helpful for beginners
I'm so happy to hear that!
i want to be as organized as this omg
I love sewing too.... And your videos
😘😘😘Kiss from cap vert
I'd love to see you do a series where you try and use your leftover fabric - you can buy additional fabric but only enough for the project.
Tried that. I ended up coming home with yards of more fabric. Haha
Love your space🌹Do you have a tutorial of how you created the pulley system and made your backdrops. Great idea!
an organization queen
Thanks for sharing 🖤
I'm so sad Bunz isn't a thing in Sweden :''(( it seems awesome! 😍😭
That's really nice, Wendy! What about some misconceptions about sewing and fabrics? Or some fabric basics and do's and don'ts?
Big fan of your videos Wendy but could you maybe slow down the section where you're organizing. I didn't have time to read words and see what you were doing. Tried speed reading and still struggled. Maybe I'm just slow :).
No, I had the same problem. I had to stop and review this section several times.
A dream studio....
Are you going to be doing any more videos in this series? I've just found your channel and I'm really enjoying them!! 😊♥️
hi! A great video as always. Can you talk a bit about the wall decoration that you have going on? These three dimensional shapes that look like a bit like outlines of countries? Did you make them ? How? They look really cool.
I have all my stuff in baskets because I don’t have a dedicated room ... this is my dream one day 🧶🧵
Will be looking for your clothes on this app!
a random request, but what font did you use in the thumbnail? i’m obsessed! thank you wendy ⭐️
When will she have 1 million subscribers, she deserves it
I wanted to know what desk you have, I want to make my own station for my sewing machine and for future projects. What would you recommend?
Hey not sure if you ever went over that wall paper with those 3D shapes but can you mention that in a later video? I like a lot 😍
Please ! Do you have any recommendations for a steamer I saw yours in the background !
Thank you so much in advance !
Hey! New subscriber, really love your channel - the aesthetic of the graphics you use, and the clear way you lay things out is lovely, and you have a great vibe!
I just wanted to say (please take my tone here as gentle, not scolding) that near the beginning of the video when you said OCD I think you meant tidy, organised, maybe even a type A personality, but Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is a debilitating mental illness with things like intrusive thoughts, it's really difficult to manage and doesn't have anything to do with tidiness or organisation. I hope this doesn't sound like I'm telling you off, you seem like a really nice person who didn't mean any harm, and it's something not everyone is aware of because it became such a common phrase to use colloquially like that - I just think it's important that we be careful with our words and don't misappropriate the meaning of terms relating to serious mental illness, because the people who have it need the meaning to remain serious and not obfuscated by something unrelated.
If you read this, thank you! I'm really looking forward to catching up with more of your videos; I'm just about to set up a sewing space in my room and this gave me a lot of ideas!
Clear drawers are the best, i tend to never open non clear drawers and just forget what I own lol
I’m curious of how you do your overhead mount in this new space.. do you use that stand surrounding your table?
Love how your hubby didn't want to be in the video....but he was because of the mirror you had set up. LOL!
What iron is that? So cute!!! Love your videos too x
This was great! Where did you get your peg board i love it!
I need the link for that locker system 🥺 so cute
I want the clear acrylic box gutterman thread set but I can’t convince myself to get it yet. 😂 Thread is so expensive these days!! I have to save up for more stationary at the moment too lol
Yes everything in its time! Also I cant say no to stationary so I understand 😂
withwendy Yeah... stationary is an addiction 😂 🖊
Hi! 🌸 I’d like to see some ideas for sewing basic clothing items; such as a shirt or basic pants. I know a tiny bit about sewing but really want to learn more. The other videos on RUclips tend to be difficult to understand or it’s 30 min long. I’d really love that.
Not sure if you saw this video by Wendy, but she has one on how to make a basic tee here: ruclips.net/video/A90PmZLvwFM/видео.html ! I tried it and it worked for me :)
Where do you store / what do you do with all the completed projects you make? I have difficulty making "fun" stuff that has limited use because it just takes up space!
Would you be able to do a video about different styles of sewing feet?! Or if you already have one and I've missed it hahaha
0:30 ocd isn't some oh so aesthetic organizing, its a life ruining disorder, you're obviously not mean spirited and this video was actually really cute and inspiring but i just had to point that out
Sorry this is true, I admit I have a bad habit of using the term too casually. Thanks for reminding me and bringing it up gently!
Yes thank you for mentioning this! I don’t have OCD but it is a lot more serious than just wanting things neat and tidy as that’s just being a control freak/tidy person. OCD is entails things like having to compulsively tap things a specific number of times or you truly believe you’re family is going to die. That sort of stuff.
i have ocd i appreciate you mentioning this
thank you thats exactly what i was going to say
What a lovely set up, thank you for the helpful advice! What camera and tripods do you use?
Some of her gear is on her website: withwendy.com/shop !!
wanted to try bunz but there is almost no one using it in the netherlands :(
Oh now I am really mad if myself. I decluttered my sewing studio and when I see how much fabric you have and how much I have .... i have 10 boxes of 50x40x 30 cm that cannot even close anymore !!!!And with my sewing channel it seems to get more because now I often need a specific fabric for a tutorial. But as Sew Aldo has started now: I also want to finish ans sew up my stash this year that I only have 1 box left at the end of the year!!
Love your earrings where did u get them?
oh man, this is an older vid so you probably won't see this but where is your murphy bed from? I found this vid as I'm looking to turn our guest bed/ office into a workspace but really don't want to lose the bed. It just takes up so much space though. curious your thoughts!
Good!
The filming / editing of this is really lovely
Does anyone know where her lighting rack is from? I really need one like that!
Can I ask that where do you buy your sewing locker? 🥺
What lights do you use on your filming rack thing? :)
it will be great if you could give information on such barter/ selling apps for other countries as well. Like i am based in India and would love to know if there are such options.
you are awesome
Great video but friendly reminder not to use OCD as a flippant remark - it is a serious and debilitating illness and the organising/cleaning stereotype is a strong one! 💖
Exactly! I was about to comment the same but then saw someone else already commented it 😊
When does she say it? I didn't notice but maybe I skipped that part.
00:30 😊
Emma Chiddle Thanks!
Thanks for saying this.
I love bunz but couldn't find you on their. I tried @withwendy.
Please can you make an episode about easy beginner sewing projects? I've bought a sewing machine but am terrified to get started because I'm afraid I'll pick a project that is way too complicated and that I will give up and never try it again
anna86 i recommend starting with a skirt, and then a shirt, and then a pair of shorts. all very basic items, but increasingly difficult to sew. before you begin anything test out every stitch on your machine on different types of fabric and try to do curves and corners. practice buttonholes, gathering, and pleats. a good way to get started is to buy cheap clothing from the thrift store that is at least 5 sizes too big (lol) and try to make it fit you. remember, you will make some mistakes. sewing a professional looking garment is tough! don’t beat yourself up if it’s not perfect the 1st, 2nd, or even 10th time. happy sewing :)
@@makenzyeble8357 Thanks for the tips! :)
If you’re BRAND brand new at sewing, start with throw pillows!
@@MetaMarcy21 Yeah I thought about that too! Last night I figured out how to use my sewing machine and did some test seams. Baby steps 😅
i love you ♥
How did you make install your own backdrop set up?
