Omg your parents are adorable!! And I’m getting so many amazing ideas for my sewing room! I love and appreciate you and your channel, thank you for all your hard work!!
It takes a village to raise an Abigail! Lovely to meet your folks and see Morgan & Nicole. The Burgandy shirt you wore was fantastic. Cant wait to see more.
Hurray, your sewing room is done! It is a wonderful space and I love how everyone came together to help. I also laughed way too hard at your dad's "I'm a minion!
I empathize with having something pretty much done and realizing you have to take it down and re-do it cause it's wrong. I do that so often and it's actually the number one reason I abandon projects because I'm like "ffs I have to do it all again" and then I don't 😆
My parents linoleum floors still look new after 30+ years. I’d take that over that weird grey laminate fake wood flooring that’s going in everywhere any day.
Everything in it's place! How awesome, I know you are relieved it's done! I live in a one bedroom apartment and am turning that into a giant sewing room! I just said, eff it and I'm gonna doooo it! Congratulations!
Organizing a sewing room is my nightmare task. I get it done, then start on projects, get tired, don't put things back, then soon Chaos reigns again! I love the choices you made and meeting your mom and dad was a treat!
It looks amazing! So excited for you! My mom did cork flooring in her sewing room and we highly recommend that. When pins and needles fall into a cork floor, you find them sticking straight up.
I am aware this works great for you or you wouldn't share it, but to clumsy me that sounds like the worst possible floor. Give me a floor that they lie flat on and a magnet on a stick, please.
Fab sewing space! I like the idea of lino for the floor (I have carpet in mine, because it used to be a bedroom, now combo home office/sewing space. The amount of thread tails on the floor are unreal). And love your mid-Victorian inspired (?) plaits :)
I also have carpet in mine because my mother was adament that i as a seamstress would only use my work room as a workroom occashenly and it woudl be a gest room more often and she new best i deeply regret giving into her and having carpet in most places
@@therussianprincess7036 I tend not to wear shoes much in the house... but I do have a magnet-on-a-stick, glass-headed pins, and a handy vacuum cleaner!
Looks amazing. As much as i love the space and what you have done, I think your parents are serious bonus-content! It is easy to see where you get your sense of humor and whimsy. I'm glad you were able to move closer to them. Good job on the house. (You might want to do an episode on linoleum-marmoleum, for those who still confuse it with sheet vinyl. Share the history, manufacture, etc.)
Well your mom is a delight as always, and a constant on this channel, but I am totally charmed by your dad, putting in my vote for him to occasionally drop by

Love your Dad!!! I love the white look for my sewing/crafting space as well. It really makes it easier to see the colours of threads buttons etc that I have in clear jars on my Billy (from Ikea) shelving.
I want to adopt your Mom and Dad, Abby. Although they are just in here for a few minutes, they are super happy to help their girl with house renovations. Internet nomination for cutest parents. The Sewing Room and Antique Clothing Storage/Cutting Room look awesome! Many solid logical design choices to have good light for filming and storage shelves for keeping "all things" neat and organized. Nicely Done!
Your mom and dad are adorable. I think I see where your humor comes from. The new space is looking great. Thanks for sharing and good luck with the rest of the updates.
We have really old linoleum floors. I’m talking well over 60 yrs old. If I could, I would restore it all, and redo where restoring not possible. I love it.
You're such an inspiration for me and your videos have helped my mother understand my interest in historical clothing. We watch your videos together every Sunday together now. Thank you for the laughs and memories ❤️
Love your dad- he is where the sas is from, he should have his own channel, so many catchphrases in such a short space of time! It’s looking fabulous btw xx
As a Swede, all the IKEA stuff makes me so happy, and I immediately went and looked if the kitchen isle would work in my apartment 😊 Syrummet ser superbra ut!

For the buggies, try diatomaceous earth. It's a fine powder you spread along baseboards that kills crawling bugs. Non toxic to pets & people because it's shells from itty bitty sea creatures that scratches up crawling bugs and causes them to dry out.
It's a desiccant. It absorbs the lipids from the exoskeleton of insects, which damages their ability to retain fluids and they become dehydrated and die (not tiny shells scratching them. wtf?). Though it is low risk, it is still regulated in the US due to the risk of inhaling it and causing illness.
Anytime you want to get your parents involved in your chaos, do feel free. I just love them! I'm jealous of how organized all your stuff is, as well. 😕 now I feel called out, but if it gets me off my arse, maybe that's good? Definitely need fabric storage out of actual sewing space, to start...
Hello! I'm still trying to catch up watching all the videos that posted while I was away visiting the grandkids. I hope you have a gentle week ahead! Thank you for posting and sharing your talent.
That kitchen island bench from Ikea makes an amazing workbench for a sewing room. When I was planning my sewing room when I build my house, I saw a RUclips video where someone had used it and I knew instantly that it would work for me. Mine is white base with the birch top and shelves. It really is the perfect height as a work table as well as having a bunch for storage.
What amazing spaces. I hope you enjoy working in them. I would love to know about the top you are wearing in the end section! The fabric is such a gorgeous colour and the cut looks super comfy.
I love your parents they’re so fun! ❤️ I seriously regret having hardwood floors in my sewing room. My feet hurt lol I usually wind up having to take a lot of breaks and roll around on my rug. This used to be a bedroom and at that time I didn’t really focus much on sewing to make whole garments just to repair things. But your space looks amazing! I’m saving this video so I can go back and look at the shelves because my space lacks a whole of storage lol
I had that ikea island at my old house. It was amazing. While it’s main purpose was kitchen island I used it for cutting fabric all the time. Even sewed washable shelf liners for the shelves.
@@annacatherinesendgikoski1965 One of the advantages of their app is they will show what’s in the store inventory, and it’s fairly accurate, but they updated about once a day so if it’s low they might be out by the time you get there).
Your parents are adorbs. Also, so glad I'm not the only lover of white walls! All my friends pick on me for not having color on my walls, but I'm like you, I want to see my work in as honest a light as possible and don't want distracting or discoloration due to light reflecting off colored walls.
Your dad is HILARIOUS. Also: Maybe others have asked a thousand times already but if anyone knows what pattern that burgundy blouse that Abby’s wearing is made from I would be most obliged to receive that knowledge.
