Full Disclosure: MORryde did give us these upgrades to try out and make a video. THANK YOU, MORryde!
UPDATE (2021-02-22): The MORryde Independent Suspension is no longer offered as an option directly through Grand Design (where GDRV pays MORryde and invoices the dealer on the build) due to liability issues. Thus, you will not see it on the build and price tool. It might be possible to get GDRV to transport the RV to MORryde post-build (for a nominal fee) prior to going to transport (to the dealer). The feasibility of this will likely depend on MORryde's availability and timing of build completion by GDRV.

We are the couple on MORryde's FB page that was first to get their IS owner's club T-shirts and stickers. We also had Sergio as our technician and was so great in letting me take pictures of the progress. We left Elkhart on October 30th and are now in Arizona and the ride was GREAT!! We also are fulltime and have a Road Warrior toyhauler. What a difference it's made. Well worth it. Great video!! Oh, we also travel with our dachshund, Joey, who says hi to Daisy!

Well I am super impressed....I was in the trucking industry for 15 years and have owned many sliding and air suspension systems and that there my friend is impressive!!!!...I never had disc brakes but they are on all the stage coaches ( buses)I drive now and don't even come close to drum systems.....Congrats on the installation and when we order our Momentum it will have to have that system 😍😁

Had my Open Range 427 BHS done the first week of December, 2020. I left speechless. Huge improvement. I cant even quantify it.
I had to check every so often to make sure the Coach was behind me.
I also did the Morryde pinbox with my Andersen Ultimate hitch. 1,000 thumbs up.
And the staff at Morryde.....first class. Best in the business.

Another excellent video. The under carriage videos were especially impressive to watch.
The addition of the disc brakes is, in my opinion, the most important part of this upgrade. A few years back when towing our previous 5th-wheel, we rear-ended another car as the drum brakes could not get the whole rig shut down in time when the car in front slammed on their brakes at a pedestrian crossing. That really shook my confidence and I replaced the drums with Titan discs. I did the work and it took about two days. The difference in the stopping distance with the discs was astonishing.
I had read to adjust the brake controller gain until lockup was achieved and then back it off a bit. With the drums, lockup was never possible, not even on dirt roads. With the discs, lockup was easy to induce on dry pavement.
With the discs I found that when entering corners, I could apply the brakes at the same time/distance that I could without the trailer attached as the truck and trailer braked with the same stopping power as the truck alone. In general, it made towing less stressful.
We recently purchased a new trailer and have yet to upgrade the brakes. Perhaps a trip to MORryde is in our future.

We are fulltimers in a Heartland Cyclone 3611JS dual axle toy hauler. We upgraded our 7k axles to 8k axles and IS at MoRyde in 2018 along with upgraded tires and wheels and disc brakes. It was a very pleasant experience...one night in the rig in their parking lot....one night in the rig in their shop...which at the time operated 24/7 so the whistle blowing for breaks woke us up each time.
We are very pleased with our upgrades and the ride is so improved.
We workamped all summer to save to pay for this upgrade and while many advised us against it saying we would never recoup the money we spent to this day we have no regrets it was worth every penny to write that large check we'd do it again in a heartbeat!
They are busy, busy, busy at MoRyde so once you have an appt its best to keep it you won't be sorry!

Chad and Tara, We had the MorRyde RS suspension upgrade installed on our Class C motorhome, which replaces the back hanger of the rear leaf springs with the rubber shackles. What a difference it makes with bridge and road transitions and the harsh road shocks. The MorRyde team is one of the best we have encountered having work done on our motorhome. Thank you for your RUclips video documenting the installation of the MorRyde system on your 5th wheel that inspired us to look at MorRyde upgrades for our Class C. Keep up the excellent work!

Late reply, but as a computer programmer and data analyst in the direct marketing industry for over 40 years, this video is awesome. You (and Daisy) are well respected in the target audience. The cost of giving you the equipment and installation is nominal compared to other advertising means. The only criticism I have, as they guy who, would have created the ROI reports had I been involved is that there no mechanism to directly track this terrific video to actual sales. We are hopefully about 18 months out from our first RV which we will buy used. Our second we will likely order new and this suspension system will be on it. Thank you so much for the content.

WOW! This is definitely something most people dont consider, their 5th wheel or trailer suspension because you ride in the truck, of course. But, I never realized never ending rattling and jolts the trailer sustains that leads to bending, loosening, cracking etc.! Why dont they put these on in the factory! What a fantastic product! I dont care if MORryde did this for free, they needed to get this product advertised and especially demonstrated! I will be looking into this for sure! THIS is the kind of content that helps you stand out from the rest!

@@MrAppltec and to piggy back on your comment, I can see the benefit of this, but if you check their blog you'll see it cost them $11,000. I'm guessing their RV was in the $100k range, so that's one expensive upgrade. I'm sure that while they are full-timers, and will probably own it for a while, it doesn't seem like the resale will improve "that" much. Then again it'll probably save a LOT of RV maint/repair with a much smoother ride, and it's a hella lot safer now as well. Not on my list of to-do's for sure...

As a tractor trailer driver, this stands true with a air ride trailer vs a spring ride trailer. A air ride trailer you very rarely feel the bumps up in the truck. ( I know yours isn't air ride but the suspension you works the same as a air ride). If I ever get a camper as I want to this is a no brainer for me it'll make your camper last much longer... thanks for sharing. As always enjoy your channel so much.

We have a 2017 41 foot KZ Durango Gold with two axles. Our OEM axles were 7K. We had MorRyde install 8K axles and disc brakes when the trailer was about 6 months old so I'm sure we have protected our trailer frame from many road induced body blows over the last 3 years. We also upgraded our wheels and tires at the same time to Hi Spec aluminum wheels (17.5") and Goodyear G114 H rated tires. Big investment, but this is our house, so ... We also have a Hensley air ride hitch ... also a big shock absorber for the trailer, so that might be something you guys think about someday.
I really appreciate the "before and after" video. I never really saw how much difference there was so that was enlightening. Love what you guys do and how you do it. Consider reweighing your rig ... after the MorRyde install (and wheels and tires) our trailer weight went up about 860 lbs. Our pin weight went up about 30 lbs. The interesting thing about the increased weight is that the frame isn't carrying that extra weight .... so our frame didn't experience any change in weight, but the scales will show a definite difference. In our experience, each "axle" went up around 430 lbs. While you mileage may vary, this is something that you should be aware of.
    Ron

I have a travel trailer and had the EZ Flex equalizer. I replaced the springs on my trailer and also installed the least expensive Morryde equalizer, the 3000 series. It made a huge difference while towing. Similar to what you experienced. I guess the bottom line is Morryde makes some impressive suspension products. I am in the process of spring fixing and I think I am going to put in the Morryde 4000 series equalizer. I have about 20000 miles on the 3000s and expect that the rubber spring material is probably beat up from the same sort of roads you have experienced. I cannot afford the IS at this time. Maybe when I win the lottery. LOL I added this for any of your viewers that want a suspension upgrade, but, like me, are not able to afford the IS. If you search for feedback on the Morryde equalizers you will see that most who have them notice a big improvement in ride. And those big bumps inputting shocks into the trailer will make the front of the trailer react to that shock as well, transferring shock into the hitch arrangement on your tow vehicle. So you feel those trailer axle hits in the tow vehicle. Reduce the hits and smooth out your ride.

Cool setup. It would be really cool if the arms were supported by adjustable air bags. Another sweet feature if you had bags would be to dump the air from one axle so it was not supporting any weight. It would really improve backing into tight spots. The other reason bags would be nice is a full trailer vs empty trailer would ride almost the same and the ride height would be the same. You could also change the height while parked which would make it a little more versatile.

Braking is night and day gain from 8 to 5.5 on our 16700# Montana. And muted it a great word for the bumps in the road. We are super happy with it and recommend Henderson’s highly. Great video as usual guys. Thank You

Great video overall, and a great improvement in the trailer. We tow a Forest river 30' pull behind trailer, connected to our extended 155" WB one-ton Chevrolet Express van with a HensleyArrow hitch. We have been a weekend and vacation towers, Forest River is a 2 axle torsion axle, (similar to the Airstream suspension), The dry weight is listed at 6,600 lbs, but you and I know that is before things like the Hensley hitch +250lbs, Propane tanks 125 lbs full, spare tire 80 lbs? air conditioner, and who knows what else. Yes, I know, WAY lighter and smaller than your rig. LOL. It has drum brakes, that work. I have no idea how it rides as I have never ridden in the trailer, (not legal in most states), but I understand More Ride's thoughts on having you experience the before and after-effects. All in all a fantastic upgrade for your rig. Note, the Hensley hitch causes a pull-behind trailer to tow much like a fifth-wheel trailer, complete with the trailer cutting inside the tow rig on turns, BUt in 38,000 miles of towing, we have NEVER experienced ANY trailer sway. A Hensley hitch is not cheap, coming in at around $3500.00 for everything. Nice warranty though, a lifetime to the original owner and parts replaced free for as long as I own the hitch. And no they do not pay me to write these words. We are both in our 70's and might not be towing over the road much longer, but it has been a trip. We thought about full-timing at one time, but that didn't happen. Glad to see you follow your dream.

Hi there.... its Tom from Switzerland
I am watching this very interesting channel since about two months now. I am interested to buy a DVR rv, I also talked to a dealer here in Switzerland and they said :" It is crazy under what kind of safety standards people in other countries driving on the roads!" In Switzerland are electric dis brakes not allowed. They have to be hydraulic. I hope you have done this now on your beautiful rv. Chanching al the security things on a rv like yous and upgrading them to the standards of Switzerland law costs around 35'000 Dollars, witch is a crazy. With out the import costs from the USA. SO WHAT... I am going to do it, because I fale in love with this rvs. Thank you so much for your great videos on this channel.

Your test ride in your rig reminds me. In 1977, we bought our first travel trailer on a ‘diving into the deep end of the pool’ experience, without even knowing we were, as we hauled a 17 1/2 foot Prowler behind a 1960 Chev Apache 1/2 ton from Bremerton, WA to Biloxi, MS for an Air Force school at Keebler AFB. We knew nothing about trailering. My wife, who likes to sleep in, decided she could simply sleep in while I hit the road at Oh Dark Thirty one morning in Montana. We had no communications between the trailer and the truck cab. I told her to wind the louvered windows on the driver’s side of the trailer in and out when she and our 3 year old daughter were ready to come up to the truck. I would see the windows going in the rear view mirror and pull over. I never did see the windows going, but finally pulled over after a few hours anyway. My wife reported to me that she had been working the windows like a Navy Signalman all the time. I never saw them, though I was looking. (No! Really!) She reported that, it was so bumpy and noisy, they did not sleep at all from the very start. That was the last time she ‘slept in’ for the entire trip, while we were on the road.
PS The trip down to Biloxi and the trip back along I-10 and up I-5 (with a wonderful stop to visit snowbirding grandparents in Hemet, CA) was without any serious problems at all. After about six months living in a small travel trailer, my wife ended up loving it! We are full timing now for the last eight months in a considerably larger rig. Thanks for the video!

I have a 43 ft toy hauler and have taken it cross country three times. during the summer I drove from Virginia to Oregon and back. My trailer and Ford 450 took a beating. In fact I broke the bedroom slide pan from the beating the trailer took. It also broke aluminum framing on the front side of the bedroom slide resulting in a crack about 6 inches long in the skin of the trailer. I have an appointment in February to have the MORyde suspension installed on my Voltage toy hauler. Thats if the dealership gets the repairs done it time.

Thanks a BUNCH for spending my money! LOL I saw this video shortly after ordering my new 5th wheel in January. When you guys looked at each other after going over the railroad tracks and said wow, I decided I had completely and totally lost my mind, reviewed it with my bride, and the soonest they could get us in was nov 17. Backed up 10+ months! We took the appt as at that time, we planned to head to FL 12/1. But another video... I have to stop watching your dang videos, they are too expensive, we decided to leave two weeks earlier and spend 9 days in Key West at Boyds before heading to our winter site near Tampa. Do the timing plan, I was really short on time, and led me to a bad decision to leave morryde with a mysterious electrical issue. Got 20 miles down the road and said no, we're going back. They were aware of our timing issue and pulled out all the stops to find the issue. Chad, you'll appreciate this, when brakes or left turn signal came on, it threw a message to the 2022 F350 the trailer's left brake light was inop... and yet it wasn't. They finally cut the pump power wire, and no more gremlin. Best part, hooked the wire back up and no more gremlin. We have no idea what happened, but I'm kind of leaning to a poor electrical connection, and when he cut that connector out and re did it, we no longer had a spurious electrical noise that was possibly back feeding to the truck
    .
The impact and improvement is dramatic. When we went over the railroad tracks, want to guess what happened, we looked at each other and said WOW.
    .
Still questioning my sanity of ripping out a brand new suspension system, but so far loving the outcome.

We put a MorRdye suspension system on our 35’ fifth wheel when it was almost brand new so we had no comparisons. We just knew we had none of the complaints that we heard from other fifth wheel owners. I left a whole Brita pitcher of water on the counter one time and remembered it over 100 miles later but it never moved nor spilled a drop! We left the dog’s water dish full on the floor because it never spilled. We’re huge believers!

I don't think they're quite as smooth as the Morryde independent system since they lack shock absorbers but I'm guessing they're a lot cheaper. I have used old electric brake magnets, 2 of them, wired to the brake control signal wire on trailer to fix dozens of the brake controller-elec hydraulic pump issues on those factory controller trucks. The ones that don't like E/H brake pump need the load those magnets will provide. I put the two magnets wherever they will fit. On GN horse trailers there is a great place under neck. On RVs I have put them right by E/H pump unit. I thought that fix was more widely known and used.
