Totally absorbing episode. It’s so nice to see a player in the RV industry that is excelling and innovating. If only we could count on all the RV manufacturers to care as much about their customers as MorRyde does. Thanks guys.
Very interesting, reminded me of my job before I retired, I was a manufacturing Engineer for a Oil Well Drilling equipment builder for 55 years and we built 200,000 thousand pound frames and drilling motors for offshore and land rigs for drilling oil wells over 5 miles deep and slant drilling plus all related other equipment for supporting the drilling rigs. Thank for the tour.
Great video. Roughly 30 years ago I received a personal tour of the Ford Ranger plant in St. Paul. The robotics even back then were amazing. I can't image what a modern day car plant looks like. Two things stood out as we wondered around. First was how the windshields were installed. The truck would come up to that station and a robotic arm would dispense the sealer. The arm would then retract and a different arm came and wiped the tip of the sealer arm. I thought that was crazy. Then another arm would grab the windshield and push it on. Kind of important that the truck was in just the right position. The second was the wheel balancer person. They would sit in a cage and a tire/rim assembly would come up a conveyor. Then the machine would spin it and place the tire in the right position for the proper weight. The guy would grab that weight and pound it on the rim with a hammer. The assembly would flip over and the process was repeated. I couldn't image an 8 hour shift of doing that let alone day after day. Hopefully they rotated that position every hour otherwise just wow. I tried to tour the Corvette factory last year after I toured the Corvette museum which became more famous because of the sink hole. The factory tours were closed due to, you guessed it, Covid. What a bunch of crap!!! Museum was fine but not the factory?
Wow thats amazing to hear from 3 decades ago! Imagine if RV's were built the same as the automobile industry.... they would be so precise! That vette tour would have been great! Next time!
@@IreneIronTravels RV's are so far behind the times sadly. As a car guy Aaron would LOVE, and I am sure Chris would too, a modern day car factory. Stay safe and I leave for the southwest in about 6 weeks.
Good morning, Chris and Aaron! There are so many lasers at this factory, I bet they could film the next Austin Powers there! Really cool tour! Thank you very much for sharing this tour with us. Whew….sooooo much behind the scenes stuff goes on. Really fascinating! Safe travels to you 3!
@@IreneIronTravels Hi there! Yes…all is well. We just returned from a trip to the coast of Mexico in Mazatlan! We had a really super time! We are in the transition time here in Colorado. I pretty much can’t walk Remy without seeing a bear. They are roaming the town to get fat before hibernation. Now that we are back home, Heather and I will be plotting our next ORV journey. We have about a month before the forest service roads start closing; then will transition to desert camping. Safe travels!
Nice video. Any idea when the safe T rail will be available? I hope the cost is reasonable, that could be a nice upgrade for folks that need a little more support.
Last year General RV in Huntley Il. installed the 4,000 system of shackles on our Solitude 310 GK. Within 50 miles one failed. We took it back. They had to order one so we headed back home and waited. (Meanwhile our campsite in Yuma that was paid for sat empty). Another week went by and finally we got the call that they were ready to install the new one. This time we got to Shawnie, Ok. and discovered that the other one had failed. Lucky for us we found a shop that could install a system if we got one. Mo-Ryde shipped us the Cree 3,000 and this shop put it on. We continued to Yuma. Two things though, the 4000 was more money and the labor for the 4000 system at General was about 800 dollars. I figured we had just thrown a thousand dollars out the window. General stopped taking my calls. I give MORyde credit for helping us but the whole deal still sucks!
Solid steps are nice if you stay in one place for a period of time. Not so good if you are mobile and traveling frequently. Much quicker and easier to access on travel stops with traditional fold on frame stairs
That makes sense. It would be nice to have the stability, but could be difficult on very uneven ground or close to quarters situations. Trade off’s in everything RV right! 🤣👍
As a ex-Engineer why not suggest to Morryde to make a windup electrical cord reel into a double decker for the cord and the water hose? in the storage bay we have the height but floor space is limited. Another thought add a two connection for two hoses one for fresh water and one for the flash hose. While we are at it I have a builtin air compressor and a 50 foot air hose that needs a home .
Well as an Ex Electrical Engineer, I wouldn't mix power cord and water hose even though there could be perfectly isolated from each other but I like the idea of a combined water/air reel 👍
@@AdventuraHighway31 Oh well if you mixed them they would still work LOL I have a built in air compressor in the front with a 50 ft hose so a air hose reel would be great
🐕 Poor little guy had too stay home while we did the tour. He hates being separated from his pack! More Louie action next week when we visit downtown New Orleans! 🎶
My thought exactly ! She runs two machines, so she is able to do 2 people’s job. My guess is they bring in the robots and then as people quit they just don’t rehire people. That way they can feel better about saying they didn’t take any jobs!

On your power cord rewinder if you wrap an extension cord it will become a transformer have they had any problems with overpowering an RV after being wrapped up

WOW. Thanks for this tour.
This is fascinating and that pull out tray for the truck just landed on my Christmas wish list! Great tour guys!

Awesome! Thank you, Noelle❤️!
Really enjoyed this one! Thanks
I got the new steps, hand rail, and door latch extension at GDRV National rally and I can tell you they are worth every penny. Safe, stable, and easy.

I missed the little guy

You're lucky they let you into the factory wearing sandals. Most places won't let you walk through without safety shoes.
Good point 😊
Just love how he puts it trained one lady from brake press to programmer??? What about 50 other people??? They lose their job been there done that!
