Thank you! My husband and I were just talking about needing to get one of these because we’re heading to a campground in May that has high water pressure. Thank you for the link!
Here, hold my beer I do not need a stinking check list, as I drive off forgetting to retract the stabilizers or tongue jack all the way and bend the crap out of them. :) I've driven off and left my door mat, driven right over my chocks and left them behind. Left the camper door keys or cell phone on the rear bumper on the truck. But I'm a newbee and have only been camping for 50 plus years. :)
I LOVED the ending! it was so great to look back through the years. I have learned so much from you guys. I feel like you are some of my best-friends, and it is great to watch how far we have come. Thanks for all of the great work and super videos.
We look forward to your weekly videos!! Always entertaining and you guys always have great tips of things that really happen!! Happy travels and hope to meet you all on the road!!❤
…and the Academy Award goes to….Marc Leach for outstanding cinematography and editing!!!! Wow! Your videos are not only impeccably thought-out and “chock” full of good advice, but they are so visually pleasing! Thank you for giving us something to look forward to every Sunday night!
This was great information but that ending got me all emotional 😭 Crazy how a few years makes such a huge difference in a kids life ! It’s been fun watching your kids grow up and spread their wings, but can you keep Caleb at “home” 😘 Safe travels Blessings
A while back you inspired me to "start where you are". I had a Toyota Camry - so I filled it with camping gear and set out to solo camp. I am ADDICTED to camping now and am planning my next step - a pop up camper. Thank you so much for inspiring me!
Small freezer, ice cube trays wouldn’t freeze between meals, so after 30 years of camping, spent less than$100 on a portable ice maker. Great addition…..makes ice in 8 minutes.
I love how you guys talk about not rushing through things as well as not caring what everyone else is doing or what they think. It's YOUR journey, do yourself and not others. Wait, that came out wrong. Anyway, great video guys.
coming up on our 2 yr anniversary of life on the road and watching the last 5 minutes of this video was wonderful! It called to mind how instrumental you all were in our decision to go for it and we thank you. Start Small Start Now.....yes!
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ The first day I picked up my RV I knew people would drive faster with the RVs than I did so I got up to 80 mph 😂😂😂 handle like a dream
As a retired OTR driver I definitely agree with thought #1. Avoid acting like you're in a hurry. Relax and stick to whatever system you have and less mistakes will happen
It’s like the valve was not even closed! Marc! You are appreciated, even during the 💩. These types of videos are so important. Keep the improvements coming. Your videos have been a great tool for us, as we start out. We learn something new every time! Trish, way to keep Marc on his toes! 😉 Good times!
X-chock wheel stabilizer is meant to be used after the tires on your RV have cooled off. They will contract when parked and expand when driving. Wait a bit after arrival and then install the x-choke. Or if you have to install the x-choke right away, make sure to get back to it after a certain period of time and double check and expand the x-choke.
I think the overwhelming desire is to be as prepared as you can be so when "it" happens you are prepared. But, of course, that simply isn't possible. Thanks for the flashback footage...as someone with a beginning channel I get all emotional watching my 10 year old grandson grow up just over the past year...it will be even more so in the years to come as we watch him grow as you watched yours. Thank you again for all the video help... and for helping us prepare for our full time journey...I don't think you could ever know how much positive effects you have sent out into the world. You open new worlds for people. What an amazing legacy.
The best ending and recap of your most fun moments….of course walking the road with slinky in hand is still the best story…hee hee. What fun you have had and you are always smiling….love that!
Funny Surge Protector. We hooked up to our campsite with our 50 amp surge protector with our brand new 5th wheel last year and after we were all hooked up the power went out. Surge Protector saved us. come to find out it was the post in the ground that went bad so for the night we had to switch over to the 30 amp surge protector just like you show in the video and the next day they figured out the issue because our surge protector told the ranger that only half of their power inlet was working so they had to replace it. Went to replace to find out the replacement was also bad. so they took our surge protector and went to an unused site and took the one that was working and put it on our site and we were up and running again. Funny though that their replacement was also bad and it took our surge protector to tell them that their power was 1/2 bad. The joys of camping and learning. We been through 4 campers in 7 years. hopefully the 5th wheel is the keeper it has everything we want for comfort in it. awesome. Thanks for your videos. Some day you will have to make it all the way to the Copper Harbor in michigan way at the tippy top of michigan ITS BEAUTIFUL. I was raised here and I live here and camp a lot in the harbor.
I think this is one of the best overall channels on RUclips. You can tell they try hard to give you value every video. These guys put a lot of work in to each video. I love this channel as a small youtuber it is like taking a class every Sunday on how I can grow my channel. Thank you guys, your lifestyle, and your hard work is appreciated.
START people, I know too many people who waited until they retired, then their health failed them. I've been part time RVing with my family for 5 years now and the memories are amazing!
I have Covid (I’m OK) and I’ve been streaming episodes from You Tube channel all day. I almost fell off the bed when I watched all the incidents y’all have experienced over the years. I haven’t had the sewer problems or most of the other challenges you have faced. My Achilles heel is the “don’t arrive after dark” rule. Breaking that one has cost me a lot of money. I feel so much better!
Part of the experience is learning, sometimes the hard way. I think everyone has had an experience such as yours. That is how we learn and try to pre- empt any issues we have already experienced. Making sure the black tank valve is closed, checking your tire pressures before leaving on a trip. Monitoring the sides of your camper when travelling for shrapnel comming off your tires, checking for raccoons in your wheel wells. Great tips! Its always nice to watch these types of videos so that I can be aware of things I wouldn't normally think about.
Very nice video. Been RVing for years, and we just came back from a weekend trip. BUT, the beat part of your video is seeing the smile on your very proud face walking your young Marine down the isle. Brought tears to my eyes. My son Cole never got to walk down that isle. Unfortunately, I got the call no parent ever wants. He was killed coming home for Marine Training when a careless driver tried to beat a signal light. Anyhow, I felt the feeling that I never had just seeing it in your eyes. Camping brings back many memories we shared in the past. Thank You.
Honestly, I love traveling by night and arriving in the morning. Professional drivers are usually stopping for the night and the roads are quite empty. I usually take a break at a rest stop or truck stop in the early morning when professional drivers are hitting the road. (I don’t like taking a spot from a professional driver, so I don’t feel guilty taking a spot in the morning when there are many available spots.) I then get to camp sites in the afternoon during check-in time.
Another tip if you are not full timing is to stock the kitchen, linens, and bathroom stuff with stuff dedicated to the camper. It can be cheap or used stuff, but having to pull stuff from your house every trip and back to the house after every trip is really annoying, and you will forget stuff!! Another thing is I've found the portable surge/EMS more useful. If you pull into a campsite and hookup and have a permanently installed surge, and the power pole is bad, then you have to move the trailer to try another site. If you have a portable, you can just walk over to another empty site and test before moving the trailer. (It has taken me four tries once to find a good power pole).
My Wife and I getting ready to head out in two weeks from Oregon down to Arizona for the Winter 😎🙏💕first RV trip:)we live on a floating home on the Columbia River which is it’s own adventure:)but, now it’s on the Road for us👍Love your videos
RUBBER WHEEL CHALKS: agree with Mark about rubber is much better than plastic. My husband did an “RV MacGyver” adaption to our rubber chalks. He drilled and placed an eyelet in the back of all 4 rubber chalks. Then he tied a rope to 2 pairs so chalks, making the rope longer than the distance between the front and back set of tires. This makes the carrying and storage of the chalks much easier. Not as much stooping, not handling muddy chalks and easier to carry. (Good for seniors) Some styles come this way or you can adapt yourself. Try it.
I would add keep your road days as short as possible, we rarely do over 300 miles a day. It's a lot more enjoyable to leave early and stop early. Why rush. Also pack a toolbox, rvs break constantly, but are simple to repair.
I just subscribed. I am a travel hospital worker who moves all over the US for work. I hate staying in hotels for months and I hate Airbnb because its hard to find a place for a solid 3 months to stay in that isnt booked every other weekend. So, I have decided to buy an Airstream 23ft Flying Cloud. Before I commit to that, I have made a play list of all airstream related content especially what to buy before you get one. So thank you for this.
"... Luckily we still have that wi-fi goin' strong..." Loved this video. Thank you so much not just for the technical advice, but the marriage counseling!
Crazy the first "10 items you need" video was how we got started and your family changed us from wanting 5th wheel to smaller travel trailer! I think it was Summer 2017 or 2018 I binged on all the videos.
"Windows open and close". When we shared our plans with our financial advisor, he actually encouraged us to do it now for that very reason. My husband was retiring and I going to work a few more years, but our advisor said I recommend you do it now since you can because so many people have these plans and health issues for themselves or their parents close their window of opportunity.
The ending of this video was phenomenal. We have four kids. Fifteen all the way down to twins that are five. My wife and I have been trying to decide if purchasing a camper is a wise decision. I've watched several of your videos trying to learn what to have, what to do, and what to expect. This was an epic culmination of the wonderful memories your family has created. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experiences.
I remember when you two were newbies and and leaving the Scottsdale house with the first Ginger. You’ve come along way. Stay well, Robert the old mailman
No matter how long I have been rv’ing I always have a check list that I go by on my phone. I break it down to the day before travel. The day of travel. And arrival. My wife takes care of the inside and she has her checklists.
We're Canadian RV newbies! We're going to be stationary for the next 8-12 mths, but then we hope to park our destination RV at a different location each year...well, each spring/summer/fall camping season. I'm learning a lot and I can't get enough ❤ The saying you're looking for is... "It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it." I'll do my best avoid "poopsies" 😂
2 levels Level 1. Great information backed by actual events. Level 2. The montage at the end of the video where we got to see so many memories, not the least of which are those three lovely children. Brings tears to this grandfather’s eyes.
Just found you guys. You both ate "Naturals" in front of the camera. I feel like you are talking right to me. We are Newbies for now and have our hearts set on an International Airstream. First, we are planning on the truck. This gives me plenty of time to go over your Videos...Thanks!
The levelmate is great and the need to see green is real. The problem we’ve had is the buffering between turning it on it actually reading or freezing up while trying to level. 😕
Now it seems all is right In the world now that Marc and Trish are back in the pocket. With this video I feel we’ve all taken a deep breath and are now ready for the summer of 22 adventure. For us it’s Texas to New York for a family reunion, to Mackinac Island for Fourth of July weekend, then on to Banff, to Vancouver, to Olympia National Park, down West Coast, then we head back over to Texas. We owe so much to you all for what you do in your videos that enables us to be able to take on this epic adventure. We hope to see you on the road. Rock on!
I loved the ending. I've been here since the first video/first tire moment with that guardian angel and I recognized every single moment along the way and Im thankful y'all have shared your memories with us. Can't wait to see what this upcoming season has in store for everyone. 🥰
The ending montage brought tears to my eyes. I found your channel almost at your first travel day and remember your excitement when you hit 1000 subs. Like many other viewers feel, it's been amazing watching your family grow and adventure. I think the episode that touched me most deeply was watching Tori and Trish set up Tori's college dorm room, and then Trish crying as she and Marc drove away later that night. I never married or raised children, but still can totally understand how incredibly hard it must bee for a mom (and a dad) to watch their first hatching fly from the nest. Great video, as always.
Just bought our 1st camper... been watching tons of videos... youre my only "suscribed". Love your energy and practical knowledge... how you deliver it really comes through.... thank you!
Arriving at night is what brought me the MOST anxiety!!! I'll never forget the first day we were *officially* full time RVers. Left our house in Tempe, AZ. and drove to San Diego, CA. Arrived at night and when we were unhooking, we didn't have any light. Casey didn't see the cap of the dump and stubbed his toe so bad we almost had to go to Urgent Care. Lesson learned to always have a headlamp handy!
great to see the chapters in this. I know many YT'bers don't like them, but its really helpful in the future. We watched the whole thing obviously, but this is great for when we want to watch back at a later date.
Excellent information. Obviously you can't possibly cover every little detail. Otherwise this episode would never end..... my added two cents... The travel day departure check list and a windstorm check list. A windstorm check list includes all loose equipment on the ground. Chairs, folding aluminum tables, a portable satellite dish, grills, games, etc make dangerous and damaging projectiles. I've had my roof mounted dish come lose, causing a leak, during a thunderstorm. I now know to turn her off when a storm is approaching or forecasted. While many awnings have wind sensors, they can't see a 60mph gust ahead of time. If you notice wind, check the forecast and bring the awnings in if necessary. A cheap water filter is good insurance against sediment clogging things up and eroding seals. I personally would add a filter to a start kit. Cheers!
You to are so funny on this one sharing the real life of your travels! Trish is on a roll here, after sharing all the RV /travel trailers/ class A/B C on the road! So much knowledge and fun!
Fantastic video! I quote you 2 all the time for my knowledge and how well we are set up our first year out camping. Just wanted to point out, the 2nd most replayed part of the video is Trish swimming underwater 😅
I love you guys and your brutal honesty. I JUST bought ny first motorhome and I am a single mom so... this just goes to show stuff happens to everyone. Thank you for being true and not just showing the good.
This was an easy video to watch. Informative, real, down to earth, and, for this new RV 'er, heart warming. There is so much to learn and know about RV camping. It's overwhelming. But, after watching your video, I'm more excited than anything! I just wish i could take you with me. 🤓
Good advice to slow down, and don't travel in the dark as relative newbies we got in a hurry at an unfamiliar campground, left before sunrise and did $4,500 in damage to our MH and $2,500 to neighbors tow vehicle. Lesson learned early on
Just bought my first camper and am binging videos. Love you're, and thank you for the little ending to this one. Got a little tear in my eye, just one.
FYI you do NOT inflate to max cold on the tires. You go according to what EACH specific rig recommends. Tires A are sold for many different models and manufacturers
I retrofitted by Winnebago Navion with the Lippert Waste Master hose. One of the best modifications I have made. The dump process is much easier and cleaner.
Great tips but what I loved the most was the montage at the end. It actually made me cry. I have watch your family travel all over the world and watched your kids grow up. Your entire family has been so inspirational to so many people. Maybe when your kids are older they will realize just how awesome their parents were and how not every kid gets to have a lifetime of memories traveling with their parents. It is a gift and those of us whose parents have passed on we know just how special that gift is.
I was so excited to install that valtera cap and since this was the first time ever I was opening up that black tank valve, I really taught a little drip but seems the RV, who arrived from the dealership before winter and we were now in spring, had been emptied, well, it was not. Valve was pushed in but a lot came out, on me! Oh Boy, not a happy camper! I was shocked and surprised but I moved on, cleaned up as best as I could and installed everything. I will never take that off again! Good thing we are stationary.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Proof you have a good taste on the wireless network system because I saved that item earlier this morning and now I'm sitting here watching your video and it is the same item in your list 😂😂😂😂
Not sure why you guys don't have a few million subscribers. Another fantastic video as always. I've been a subscriber for years and always enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work!
We are back in the US after a few year hiatus and so wanted to jump back into RVing (which is what we missed about the US!). These guide videos got us started years ago with our first rig, and now we need them again (we've forgotten it all and needed all the gear recommendations from a tried and trusted source!). Thank you again for helping get us out on the road. We've been dreaming of that life these last few years :) ...also, by total chance we ended up purchasing a 2018 reflection 312bhts. Not what we were looking for but now we have it we love it! Maiden voyage will be soon :)
On one Florida vaca all went great, then on the way back home....i was towing my new camper with SUV and my Sindy was following in the truck towing my brand new boat. At a stop to put air in SUV tires, Sindy was spooked by another driver as she was coming round the back of my camper and hit the new camper with the brand new boat. She was terrified, and then cried because I didn't yell or be mean. She said her ex husband would have and been mean. I explained it had already happened and couldn't be undone, and it was insured, why would I make it worse by damaging her. It's not what happens as much as how we handle it. People are more important than things.
Stinky slinky strut of shame still makes me giggle. True, sometimes waiting for what you need is smarter than getting something you may never use. International window breaking. There are always dips to get through. Eighteen summers, any more is a blessing. Thank you for sharing and have a great day.
We've been dreaming and watching for a year and a half now. The ability to make it a reality felt pretty far away more often than not but here we are.. just days away from picking up our travel trailer. This video is pretty darn timely! To say it is overwhelming is an understatement but every time we feel that way we say, "what if we got this close, and never did it?" For our kiddo and the one on the way, we have to start small (which is much bigger than we could have imagined!). That last segment that you posted on new years has been watched more than once, and will make a pregnant lady sob every. single. time! Can't wait to see what it is to come-and hope to document it half as well as you all have.
I just bought my 1st RV in Show Low Az . I was doing good got to state park chalked tires, got trailer unhitched trailer and then forgot to unhook chains 😮 but I went slow so no big deal. I'm staying in Show Low for summer and loving it. Have a great season 😊
How could I have forgotten to mention a pressure regulator? This belong's with the essential items: amzn.to/3tHSheV
Thank you! My husband and I were just talking about needing to get one of these because we’re heading to a campground in May that has high water pressure. Thank you for the link!
I thought the New Airstream had one built in?
@@jamesstark1750 Good point. It does... and I forgot to mention that too! ;)
Here, hold my beer I do not need a stinking check list, as I drive off forgetting to retract the stabilizers or tongue jack all the way and bend the crap out of them. :) I've driven off and left my door mat, driven right over my chocks and left them behind. Luckily "the Wifi is going strong!" Best Line
"I'm gonna have to change my skin" ..God,I'm still laughing from the first time he said that.
I LOVED the ending! it was so great to look back through the years. I have learned so much from you guys. I feel like you are some of my best-friends, and it is great to watch how far we have come. Thanks for all of the great work and super videos.
Well said

I thought they said they paid someone to edit?
And the kids make incredible B reel actors.
This was great information but that ending got me all emotional 😭
Crazy how a few years makes such a huge difference in a kids life !
It’s been fun watching your kids grow up and spread their wings, but can you keep Caleb at “home” 😘
Safe travels

Into our 3rd year part time. KYD was the first videos we started with. Got us started right and we really appreciate them
Trish giggling as she films and is remembering Mark saying "SHOES?! I am going to have to change my skin!" 😄😄😄 And I just love seeing Cable "reruns"!

This is the Best RV Video of 2022 Period.
Simple cheap dishwashing gloves at any Dollar Store work great.
By the way, because of you two, I now own a new travel trailer. I've been watching you two for some time now.
coming up on our 2 yr anniversary of life on the road and watching the last 5 minutes of this video was wonderful! It called to mind how instrumental you all were in our decision to go for it and we thank you. Start Small Start Now.....yes!

It wasn't! For 3 days. I don't how that cap was working so well. Usually they show signs lol. So bad.
Knowledge is knowing what can possibly go wrong. Wisdom comes when you experience something going wrong!!!
Another fantastic production. I should have stopped before the ending music and video section as it left me in tears. You’re living my dream.
That ending, it’s crazy to know I’ve seen every episode so every scene felt like a memory of my own 🤩

Valterra twist on waste valve is a must have on a rv. Traded my Happy Camper for a new product called Unique Rv Digest it, look it up, you’ll like it!
This was legit one of your best “between the episodes” vlogs! I loved the extras that never made the final cut. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
The best ending and recap of your most fun moments….of course walking the road with slinky in hand is still the best story…hee hee. What fun you have had and you are always smiling….love that!

I loved hearing Trish laugh in the background when Mark was talking about the sewer lines , I was laughing right there with her .
Love the end the memories, we started 6 months ago and we have done so much already. Great times.

So, I have decided to buy an Airstream 23ft Flying Cloud. Before I commit to that, I have made a play list of all airstream related content especially what to buy before you get one. So thank you for this.
Wow, looking back and I feel like I watched your kids grow! Time flies.
You made me cry of all your RV experience. Your family Iife is happy and very heartfelt ❤️ with beautiful sharing. Thank you
You guys are just like family. I smile through all your videos.
Wise man once told me “Do not rush to failure”.
This is sound advice. Often, when you rush, you fail.
No matter how long I have been rv’ing I always have a check list that I go by on my phone. I break it down to the day before travel. The day of travel. And arrival. My wife takes care of the inside and she has her checklists.
It's such a good idea!
We're Canadian RV newbies! We're going to be stationary for the next 8-12 mths, but then we hope to park our destination RV at a different location each year...well, each spring/summer/fall camping season.
I'm learning a lot and I can't get enough ❤
The saying you're looking for is...
"It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it."
I'll do my best avoid "poopsies" 😂
We have had our camper since 21 and the black tank is always the spot I take the most time. I quadruple check all valves and connections.
2 levels
Level 1.
Rock on!
What a trip! Some of the very best locations!
Thanks Lora!
I cant believe how much of that footage I remember watching! thanks for share your memories and ALL the amazing info!!!
That's sounds about right!
great to see the chapters in this. I know many YT'bers don't like them, but its really helpful in the future. We watched the whole thing obviously, but this is great for when we want to watch back at a later date.
Yeah, it does promote skipping, but for how-to videos, I agree that it's helpful.
Absolutely love your videos. Thank you for taking a lil bit of anxiety of when I hit the road.
You guys REALLY are human. "The Dip", been there and still go through it every so often when we fail to pay attention.
Cheers!
Great video!!
Man, watching the ending to this video made me realize just how broken I truly am.
Your family travel montages always warm my heart
Yes! Keep moving forward and learn along the way. Thank you!
I’ve camped since I was 4 and I am 59 now. ❤
FYI you do NOT inflate to max cold on the tires. You go according to what EACH specific rig recommends. Tires
A
are sold for many different models and manufacturers
Use a clear cap on your drain line clean outs. So you see and not be surprised. 👍👍👍
I retrofitted by Winnebago Navion with the Lippert Waste Master hose. One of the best modifications I have made. The dump process is much easier and cleaner.
I'll likely end up doing it to share, but I'll have to also modify the sewer hose storage.
The picture of you dragging the sewer line lost is classic.
I think it was so clever to film that. Such a challenge to film that when in crisis.
❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Proof you have a good taste on the wireless network system because I saved that item earlier this morning and now I'm sitting here watching your video and it is the same item in your list 😂😂😂😂
Not sure why you guys don't have a few million subscribers. Another fantastic video as always. I've been a subscriber for years and always enjoy your videos. Keep up the great work!
Such a great video, and I love the end. Living life with Journey pics and fun, Love it!
Haven't even finished the video yet. Had to pause it to say, Marc walking back to the rig with the poop hose is my all time favorite!💩
Thank you for the refresher course. Through the years watching your videos, we have learned from your mishaps lol.
The Campco white water hoses get hard as a rock below 45 degs. and are a real pain to even get back in the storage area.
Just learned how to level my new trailer. Took awhile, but I got it.
I keep a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol, and spray my gloves after each use. Also spray any other contact points.
I am over the moon Happy for you both!!! I had that feeling!!! Praying for a very healthy pregnancy! Yea!!!!!!!!❤
