Vanguard is the quietest version of Stalingrad I've ever heard. You mean to tell me that _two million people_ in the most violent and bloody battle of the war didn't make any noise?
Even back in CoD1, winter Stalingrad had more life to it than Vanguard. Whenever you fought in the sewers, you could hear the battle going on above you, occasionally get shot at by snipers if you exposed yourself too much, then you could even see Germans jump right above above you. Even back then they mastered detail with whatever they could.
Gary Oldman may not have been Russian, but did a good Russian accent. Laura Bailry, I mean, she's a good voice actor, but from what I've seen, her accent is a little stereotypical, and I know Nikolai in WaW/Black Ops zombies may have had that stereotypical russian accent, but he was funny
Obviously Vanguard has better graphics, but just the way WaW plays and looks, you can tell a lot more passion and attention to detail went into WaW. WaW wasn’t afraid to show the grit and gore of WW2 and it felt like you were actually in war. While Vanguard tries to appeal to the new generation and it’s honestly soft. Vanguard feels like you’re in a shitty WW2 action film.
If you compare the intros of both missions you see that WaW captures Stalingrad so well just dark dead bodys everywhere you look bombers constantly going over the city while Vanguard at the intro is all sunny birds chirping everyone's relaxing
@@jaffa3717 So true. It's very rare to have good games without relying on lootboxes, microtransactions, live-service, always online or even day 1 patches to fix the bugs and glitches
I think it would have been a nice addition if you mentioned the overall ambiance/background noise as a whole. - Like, come on man. Stalingrad in Vanguard is the quietest city in the damn world in that game! Meanwhile you hear all sorts of fighting and battle going on around you, as well as your fellow soldiers fighting elsewhere in the area in WAW.
That's my main problem with Stalingrad in Vanguard it's too quiet! This is the same city where a railroad station has changed hands 14 times in a day with brutal tooth and nail fighting. Even when the city was pounded to ruins by the fighting German and Soviet forces were still fighting amongst the rubble.
There's no soldiers fighting in the background to be seen except in the cutscenes. Could be because the game was rushed, or they wanted to add an "apocalyptic" feeling but Stalingrad wasn't apocalyptic in the lonely sense I imagine.
CraZy Yuri Even more, its gunshots were also use as the effect for the soundtrack in COD WAW Reichstag Theme in the final mission (alongside PPSH-41 and MG42)
2:22 Took place during 1945, Seelow Heights. Nearing the end of the war. But World At War still wins nevertheless, World At War have specific period "accurate" weapon usage. Like in Stalingrad we didn't see any STG-44 being used until we reached Berlin we start to see it. Even the uniforms were different for like we get to see Japanese Officers fighting in the frontlines in Okinawa due to shortage of manpower.
It’s sad that Call of Duty has been around an extra 14 years and a ton of more experience past it’s humble WaW days and still hasn’t made a game to rival it since. Also it helped demonstrate how bad the war itself was by showing people in the beginning mission briefings die… like real people getting shot and dying.
That's wasnt a flashlight my dude that was actually the glare beaming off of his scope! one of the most important rule to sniping isnt to let light beam off it otherwise it tells the enemy directly where you are, something that guy failed to do that
@@mr.mohammedabdullah6443 I'm just saying man, I don't think I'm gonna compromise on Vanguard. To receive a subpar product from a AAA source, is disappointing and though we are all probably desensitised to it, it still shouldn't be. We're comparing it to a game released years ago. There is the clear terrible display of bad decisions behind the scenes. People call it a MW19 reskin, yet placed at full price. We got better technology, more efficient machines for creating games, and these people have more money to spend than your indie game developers and yet a lot of what they produce these days aren't as good as in the past. It may because of their shitty overlord Activision only ever wanting more money. It may be their whales that will always ensure their pockets are full with always buying whatever they put out. Tell me man, what would you think we would get if we got a CoD game every 3-4 years instead of every 1-2? If we can get this much graphical improvements with seemingly less than that then we will surely have more polished games overall. I wish these companies would just make remasters of their old games with better graphics since they don't seem to be in it for mainly making cool *games* anymore... Imagine Battlefield 2 Remastered or WaW Remastered. The world would look like that futuristic picture. You do you though I'm just saying my thoughts here.
Sniper in Vanguard: Look! Im in the open, shoot me!
Sniper in WaW: Guess the window and think fast!
Also Sniper in WaW: *I'm gonna clap you so hard, you'll lower the difficulty to recruit just to defeat me!*
They best expierience is when you are playing at the hardest Mode so you can't let him shoot you even one time.

I just finished the World at war Campaign on veteran difficulty today and comparing world at war to vanguard I think world at war is much better
Common sense
Veteran in that game is one of the hardest video game experiences I've ever had. Nicely done.
WaW veteran be like, "50 thousand grenades used to live here, now it's a ghost town"
Did that a few months back. Every moment was pain and misery but damn did it feel good when I planted that flag on the Reichstag
Don’t we all?
i love how the dog does more damage than the germans rifles up close in cod vanguard

The virgin CoD Vanguard Stalingrad
The chad CoD WaW Stalingrad
The THAD CoD 2 Stalingrad with POTATOES AND COMRADE LETLEV SHOOTING YOU IN THE BACK.
First CoD I played was Finest Hour. It included being shot in the back by Commissars. "All traitors will be shot!"
The Lad CoD 1 Stalingrad

It's insane that games over 10 to 20 years old are better than games today.
Because gaming back then wasn't big and corporate as today
Games back then were made with passion in mind. Now they're made with money in mind

"You just grazed him" flashbacks
WaW Dogs: **DOOM MUSIC INTENSIFIES**

The only thing Vanguard did was make me want a waw remake even more.
wtf is with video games the graphics get better but the storytelling, pacing, and all that get worse
