Great video, I had the same thing in my kitchen, my mate who's a decorator said to undercoat it using oil based paint then paint over it. That did the trick. Standard oil based paint is cheaper than the stuff branded as "stain blocker" but will do the same job. Great videos as always guys.
Thanks. That might just be what I need to cover some filler I used in my bathroom. I had loads of goes at covering it with emulsion, but the same greasy stain kept coming through.
So let’s say there is a heavy smoke stained ceiling I painted recently once with OIL BASE Kilz. And twice With CHB by Sherwin Williams and still it bleeds... what is the ceiling combination of primer and top coat do you recommend next time. To be clear I am returning to fix said ceiling with two more coats of Meresco by Benjamin Moore instead. What is the like ability it will bleed through once again? Thanks!!! Great video
So I was making a protein shake and I accidentally got some water on the ceiling. Now it looks like coffee stains because it was a chocolate flavored protein shake. Any tips on how to get rid of the stains easily? It's a pain to scrub out the stains.
This is really going to sound stupid, but...did you repair the roof first and then use the stain block? We had a hurricane do a bit of damage to the roof, it has been repaired, so I'm thinking we can try this to get rid of the stain. Thanks.
This vid may be over 4 years old, but it still gave me the answer to my problem. Thanks Jan.
Great.

We have lots of stains like that here, we simply nail a dead rat to the afflicted area and it covers it perfectly. It's grim oop North.
***** Posh git!
***** The pigeons ate them.
***** You should the size of the buggers on the docks up here.
you were lucky, my dad up north used no nail ME to the ceiling at nights to cover stains from leaks.
Al, every time I Google a problem in the house you have the answer!
Too much time on my hands. Ha ha.
@@dereton33 - I think we all have at the moment Al, I'm even thinking about doing some of these jobs around the house.

There is a paint called stain cover.
what happens when you don't apply the stain blocker and apply paint directly ?
The stain comes straight back .
That great about that part but on the cause of it on the upper' what did you do so that the leak stopped there?
Repaired the leaking roof.
Will this work with mould? Thank you.
Yes it will work fine.
Trago Mills! (price tag on paint tin!)
Yeh great shop.
Just found one myself :( - Can it just be a one off leak or do i need to call a roofer?
Could be a one off, wait for a bit, and see if it grows in size.
Thnk you sir to shearing you knowledge. My only youtube channel thnk you guys to support. ..

Will I have to repaint the whole ceiling
No if you can get the right matching paint.

Yes repair the roof first then when the stain dries out you can sort out the stain.
:) Told you it was stupid.
I have water leaked from the ensuite shower water gone straight through the ceiling paster board how can I do that
Use the leak stain remover once it has fully dried out.
Ok but WHAT CAUSED THE STAIN?
