Amazes me how good the stock exhaust on this car is. I feel like there are some aftermarket exhausts that don’t sound better than stock. The scorpion you out on sounds absolutely incredible! Great video

Was driving in the hills with my brother on the weekend. Me in my mk3 RS LE, and him behind in my mk2 RS. Both are fitted with non-res scorpion catbacks.
My brother had to back off because he couldn't handle the sound of the pops and bangs..
For me fitting this exhaust has made the car truly special when I drive it.. and annoying for everyone else :)

I was pulling your leg, I love both models, they are different yet the same. My Fiesta ST can keep up with my RS, now that's a surprise to many.

Good choice with the Scorpion. I've also used them for Many years but not yet on the RS. Very difficult to get a feel for the sound on RUclips.
I've heard a mountune V3 and a Milltek unresonated back to back in real life and much preferred the V3. Would be good to see a video with the Scorpion and v3 back to back
Brilliant choice Gary I got the same exhaust, it sounds awesome, great value and in a tunnel with the windows down the pop and bangs are deafening and you get 8.2bhp which makes a difference getting to the red line so much easier and free flowing and more random pop's cheers steve 😀

Looks and sounds really good. Love the turbo spool through the exhaust. I’ve a full Milltek system on mine. Initially went for non res but was stupid loud on start up in combination with the sports cat so had the resonated section fitted which has given the sound I’m after from a daily driver. You might as well join the club now I reckon and go full stage 2 ;)
I leave for work at 6:15 am , can't wait for my non res Milltek😮
Another good review gary . Do you notice much in way of bhp / torque gain ? Am looking at the remus wolf inside cat back claims 1.8 bhp n 10nm expensive but keeps warranty .

Akropovic is the only way to go with the M2. They make a matching carbon surround / diffuser as well that looks amazing

So it does have a resonator in place where the oe one was, just smaller than most other aftermarket resonated systems?
Great sound,but the left side tip looks slightly lower than the right side,just undo the clip and swivel it upwards.

got the Scorpion setup on my Focus rs aswell, but i've gone with the non-resonated and valveless one, I belive you have the resonated version due to the pressed tube. :) but I agree with you, I absolutely love mine too!

Hi, yes they are. I actually adjusted mine to sit a little further in a couple of weeks later.

( which is incredible btw ) now picking up a cat back valved scorpion tomorrow on the way back from holiday , after a successful wanted post on the Facebook rs owners page ...yet to tell the other half ! ..also yet to tell her she’s helping me fit it Sunday ! ...going to be a squeeze fitting a second hand system in the golf with the kids in the back & all the luggage ! ..as you said ..’you only live once ! ‘

I have been going round and round at which exhaust system I should get. I had my heart set on a Borla S Type but it doesn't use the Ford exhaust valve system.

Hello, about time you got one. Very surprised you went for scorpions. I went down the Remus route in the end, partly due to the sound. Your are right, hard to tell how it sounds on video but it does look so much better than stock. Look forward to know what it’s like inside and if you have turned off the fake noise into the cabin of the car?
Hey Gary, I’m not 100% yet but I think it involves forscan, plugging into the obd port and doing it from there. To be honest I’ve not noticed too much noise in the cabin with my Remus and I can always pop it into normal which helps a lot. Was your system fitted perfectly first time? After about 300 miles mine was knocking so ford had to readjust but it’s been fine since. I really did look at the scorpion but I was put off it by a lot of people saying it did not sound as good as the Remus. I really hope you are happy with it and I look forward to another video. 👍🏻

I’m sure it sounds a lot nicer in person, but it’s a clear improvement over stock and glad to hear you’re happy with the upgrade! Personally, I’m a Milltek man through and through, the raspiness of their systems just speaks to me on a level I can’t even explain. Fuck electric cars am I right? Haha
I have both in my storage unit atm.. my personal RS LE with scorpion valved catback (non res) and also another (Im looking after it) RS fitted with a Miltek. The Miltek sounds great, and if I daily drove my car I would have one for sure. But damn.. the scorpion is on another level of volume (and ASBO'ness).. its actually most of the reason I dont daily my mk3 anymore... just keep it for Sunday drives :)

I fitted a Milltek system (non-res cat back) to my Scirocco R and it sounds great when driving hard but at about 2,000 rpm light throttle, there is a bad drone and it annoys the crap out of me so I have 'buyers regret' a bit. I wonder if Scorpion would have done better? Great video as always ! 👍
Cris Keay I think the drone is more from the non res bit, especially on a car like this. Do you still have your res pipe? That would be an easy and much cheaper test for you, just whack the res back on (unless it had to be chopped off??) and see if that cures the drone a bit
@@Matt7R Hiya. The kit never came with the front resonator and the original is still part of the one piece system. I thought the pipe diameters were different also?
I was actually thinking of swapping the original system's front resonator for straight pipe and refitting the system back on... With functioning valve too ??

When I had my RS i heard the version 1 mountune axle back. Loved it, but they stopped production. I searched you tube but could not hear the true sound. I was at ford fair show Silverstone and I heard a scorpion in the flesh. It was so much better, bangs were louder, car sounded slot better. How rs should sound. I got a non res non valve system for £550 off scorpion👍 the focus rs issues were sorted I believed at the time, I travelled to London and back alot and there was no drone. Well built great sounding exhaust. Then I had piston failure, and my warranty rejected because I fitted a modification. Ford blamed change of back pressure. Scorpion were great , they tried to help me bit at the end of the day I modified my car under warranty no matter what. I had to pay for an engine rebuild. I lost my love for my 2017 RS, now I drive a golf R, for me it's a more suitable car. But scorpion exhaust was best mod on my RS 👍 I shall hopefully fit one to my golf one day. 😁
The Focus RS has easily the biggest piece of shit 4 cylinder in any performance hatch today. You'd have to be insane to own one let alone modify one.

Well I’m Fairness NO!
But After quite a bit of Forum trawling on various sites including those for motor cycles i found I wasn’t the only one left wondering about the low Rpm grunt after the affiliation with the new improved noise has worn off ,and in my case of Non res became tiresome .
I’ve Since taken out my Bluefin which felt Laggy and spike’y and replaced the Exhaust with a Stock one which I had welded back together . And I’ve been happier with my car in the last few months than I was in the year and half of Having the exhaust and REMap .

Scorpion Didn’t work for my ST , not a few others who felt the same . I’ve heard positive things of miltek but once bitten twice as shy . I’m happy as it is I found my self thrashing the car because the low end weren’t there . 😪

Ok cool we have our dsci 3” decat and race cat down pipes now on the shelf. Need to get you in for one of your choice and Ultima 3 map and test that and see how many “wow’s” we get on that review. 😀

Definite improvement over stock, though I don’t think these 2.3 engines from Ford have a nice sound compared to the rest of the field. The 2.0 engines from VW, BMW and Mercedes have a higher sound quality in my opinion, even though no one asked for it. Great vid all the same Gary 👍🏾

The only 4 pot that sounds good and from factory is a Abarth 595 Monza exhaust. All today’s 4 pot sound terrible even with aftermarket exhaust. And then they try and make up with pops and bangs 🤦♂️ the old cars from the 80’s-90’s sound ten times better.
I30N with its real anti lag system is nice, just about the only 4 cylinder that sounds decent.
Its the direct injection that makes them sound shite. Pops and bangs are just stupid.

Thanks for the update. I watched it back twice now and realized it was the camera angle lol. It was driving me insane at first then I said hey, the whole car is angled, it has to be the camera.
I wish I bought a Ford. My Hyundai is just not as cool.
There is no exhaust ever made that can make the mk3 RS engine sound good.
The size of the exhaust tips compared to the actual exhaust itself, is a bit embarrassing. Talk about fake looks over actual functionality.
Sounds horrible. I guess some people love the LOOK AT ME EVERYONE I'M GOING TO THE SHOP sound .........
