Pearl being 52 minutes was scary lol, like imagine being the slowest feeling game in the series and being one of the fastest in modern era.

Slowest feeling isn’t bad. Meant there was more to enjoy rather than how quick b/w was to finish
As someone who has caught both Darkrai and shaymin using the void glitch, let me just say those tweaks were FLAWLESS!!
neat to see void glitches being explored like this. back in the day when i first heard about them they were only really used to get to event areas.
Diamond and Pearl is where I ended my pokemon addiction...

Lol I use to love doing the void glitches as a kid I eventually bugged out my Pearl copy but it was worth it 😂
Pretty fitting that the pokemon games about gods that can break space and time, got their space and time broken
And what's even crazier is that the remakes made speedrunning even faster because of how many bugs there were.
Looks like they took the Faithful Remake literally! Bugs included.
At least they didn't keep the battle speed faithful.
also the manipless version is only like 5 mins slower so its a p accesible category
Used to speedrun this when WR was around 1:10. Since manips didn't exist back then you just had to be lucky with a good HP. My best time was a 1:12. I had a WR pace run but lost the run against Roark. This was many years ago.
You had WR pace at the first gym??

While I respect the skill and precision of these kinds of speed runs I have a lot of difficulty enjoying them. I myself am a much bigger fan of "glitchless" speed runs. This is cool, but give me all 8 badges and a Cynthia battle.

Besides, anyone who can't atleast acknowledge the planning, practice, and skill it takes to pull of some of these near frame perfect manipulations needs to find a new hobby.
