I tore my calf at the gym and as usual, I'm going to Bob and Brad for advice. I've been using this channel for years when something goes wrong and it's incredible how well their advice works. Usually within just a few days of doing their recommendations we're back to normal. Amazing work
That's awesome to hear, thank you so much for your continued support!
Ik nobody asked, but a week ago my coach made me squat too much and I tore muscles in my thighs😓 Hurts so badly to even stand or walk but this helped a lot!
These two are GenZers in 50 years and I love both of them
That’s probably because they are genz
Nah, they’ve got peak Boomer Dad energy
Lol
I'm going to go out on a limb, and predict in 50 years, they're both corpses! 😃

Am I the only one that loves them like they’re so funny and relatable!!!!
I watch them for fun lmaoooo
I'm 51 and previously been prone to injury so when I wanted to start jogging I got a treadmill and took it real slow and also did yoga, long boring warm-up and cool down but I'm jogging mostly pain free. My hamstrings are very flexible now and I'm trying to do the splits but my hips aren't too happy with that. But your videos are a fantastic help and I would love to hear Brad's hamstring story, partly in case I injure my hamstrings. 😊
Also 51, have reinjured my hamstring consistently since the first tear 5 years ago. That leg is so weak I have to support myself going up stairs!
I strained my shoulders so many times and the pain was unbearable !!! thank you so much for your tips, I'll surely know what to do next time!
It hurts. So bad I have one right now🙁
@@shitboxnation11 how long did it last ?
Same.... I'm going thru it now.... Been like 2 weeks now
@916billiam yesterday made 4weeks for me. Pain is finally subsiding
Shoulders is scary, I hope it has healed...Have you cut down on certain sports ?
I've started using comfrey salve in a massage. It's a miracle salve. Had this groin area injury for 3 years from pushing my splits. There's still hope. Range of motion is returning.
MaryL3299, how long did it take you to heal?
Heard and felt a pop in my calf. Doing all these. Glad to hear I'm on the right track. Really nervous about it healing. Thanks
Hi wondering how you got on with healing? I am 1 and a half weeks into mine, feels minor but still bothering me
my leg hurts when i lift it up and i don’t know what happen, please pray for me

I tore my quad a few years ago moving into a 3rd-floor apartment. I had a big, heavy box of dishes (the person I paid to help me pack was an idiot) on a dolly and I was pulling it up the stairs. I was using my legs, not my back, to pull it up one stair at a time, and towards the top, I felt a tear as I pulled and I've had knee problems ever since. I tried asking my doctor about physical therapy for it, but she said it's just arthritis because it hurts when the air pressure changes.
Thanks for the video. This helps with my calf pain. 👍🏾
Wow no way came to this video w calf pain too lmao
Be patient if you want to become flexible, if you're in a hurry you'll just tear your muscles
Pleas don't be like me I did that too many times 😬
Yup I just tore a muscle from overstretching. :( Now it's setting me back. Lesson learned.
How long before your muscles healed?
@@janjan6661 I would also like to know this. I’m still waiting for my muscles to get better after 3 weeks.
@@princessleira2663 can a muscle tear heal like completly? I dont have to worry? Will everything be ok after some time? Im worried of something happened to my leg. Hi, I've watched about 15 of your videos for my torn hamstring, some of them 2 or 3 times. This one was the most helpful because I keep re-injuring it and it scared me. I don't want to have surgery. I tore it about 5 years ago, just going down into a squat. I was in the best shape of my life (but must have had micro-tears from doing so many squats.) Now the leg is weak going up the stairs, so I'm constantly babying it.
I tread water and injured it. On a bike in one block on a SLIGHT incline, injured it. I want to walk around Europe and I'll need to go up stairs!
Knowing that Brad has reinjured his 3 times this year made me feel much less scared and normal. I enjoy working out but really haven't for 5 years now because every time I do, and re-injure, I think something is seriously wrong! The other thing I would love you guys to mention is that women, when estrogen is high on the cycle, can be more susceptible to injury!
Brad, PLEASE FIGURE OUT how to heal strong and teach us!!! Love you guys! Fellow Mid-Westerner, Auretha Callison
I’m not an expert, but I think you need to slowly strengthen your muscle back to its normal state
For example, start with a small lunge or two and once your muscle starts to get stronger you can increase your reps and sets. I hope this helps you🙂
Love love love your channel-your advice has always been right in line with what my own physical therapists advise. Your absolute pros and your videos are a perfect place to start, esp when I’m waiting to get into my appointments. Thank you for your down to earth good humor and sage medical advice and explaining the science of it all!
Happy to help! Thanks for watching!
I tore a muscle in my upper arm, over a year ago, and it still gives me fits. I keep using it, because someone said that if I babied it, it would "freeze" ... that sounded horrible, so I continue to use it, and continue to have moments where the pain is so bad, I hold my breath, clutch the arm, and nearly drop to my knees. I'm trying to avoid surgery, so maybe this will be my "ticket". I'll give it a try.
When my children were young while playing kick ball , I went to kick the ball far & missed , I felt the muscle pull & afterward couldn't pick up my leg , for a long time , stepped on a needle & it didn't compare , think I tore something, still have problems with that leg .
Stretching and strengthening should help with a muscle pull. The way u describe I’m pretty sure what u lulled was your hamstring. Bob and brad have videos about hamstring pull recovery
I pulled my front hamstring while doing a damn tiktok dance 😭💀
I pulled/torn (idk yet) mine from falling over awkwardly in basketball. Not exactly a fall which looks like it hurts but it did.
@@swishreacts2833 ouch, the hamstring is the worst muscle to pull/tear It hurts so baddd, mine is better now though. I just pulled it
💀😂
thats what u get
I pulled mine today running to first base in softball
Pulled a muscle after moving too many tables for Easter at my church, gonna try what is said in this vid.
Good luck !
I landed wrong on a trampoline heard a crack in my leg hip area. Fell straight down and couldn’t move. I was in severe pain but I had to wait for my dad to get home to drive me to the hospital. Getting in short car was extremely and turns were the worse. I got xrays and no broken bones, so I got sent home on crutches. I need help doing everything. I can’t sleep and when I move the slightest of wrong ways it hurts
The blood drift from my hamstring tear caused more pain then the after tear in my knee, like wow!
Great video no bs and straight to the point. 👍
Love Bob and Brad!💗💛💙
Nice Video, as usual, thank you both
Injured my hamstring stretching it out felt explosive pain below my left butt check. Next day pain in my lower back then in what I thought periformis muscle and also experiencing pain down my leg. I figure I’ve pinched the nerve somewhere. I’m wondering about in the morning I get out of bed and it hurts to walk on for a hour then feels better. If I sit more than 10 minutes when I walk on I experience great pain in the leg. What course of action should I be taking

How did u healed?
Maybe I'm an idiot, maybe i just missed it but... HOW exactly am I supposed to help this issue?! Aside from spending $100 on a device
One of the best channels on RUclips 😆
You guys nailed it. I damaged my hip flexors (front of thighs) both ! Swing the bat dash for first during a game...explosion of energy cant really prepare for. And next day im thinking when did i get hit with the ball big bruise behind my knee? Anyway trying pressure on pressure off as soon as it starts to hurt. Almost 100%. Cross fiber massage hmmm ok
I pulled a muscle in my thigh ( back) I’ve been ice and elevated compress. I fell. What else I can do for the pain
Brad, Ironically, I am having my third bout with my left hamstring. It healed along time ago, and I could sprint with out any problem. I over worked it and it just came back again. It came back doing those pelvis lifts and squeezing the glutumis maximus, I guess I did it too hard. That exercise was supposed to strengthen and take the pressure off the hamstring.
Do you happen to have flat feet?
@@PepeDeAZ No, not an attribute.

I like these guys....
Thanks. I’m also Interested in the pulled lumbar muscle video
Same. I also have pulled lumbar muscle. @CarmenLauren Did you get it fixed?
I did a leg workout the other day. I was totally fine and had no problems with anything. That night I woke up screaming in pain because my whole leg was cramping so badly. It calmed down after 30 minutes. I was making sure to ice it and also elevate it. The pain was only in my calf. It has been almost a week and it still hurts. I can walk with the pain but not go on my toes or lean on it when standing. My only guess is a torn muscle. Does it sound like a torn muscle to you? The only thing that is confusing to me is how it happened while I was sleeping. Or maybe I got a Charlie Horse and that caused a muscle to tear?
I’m going thru this now!
If it didn’t hurt while you were working out it’s probably a cramp, it’s happened to me while sleeping too
I have a freshly torn hamstring tendon. MRI scan confirmed it. Starting hurting at about 9pm at home, sitting watching TV. Only thing I can think that did it was demonstrating dynamic sprint drills to someone 6 hours earlier. No pain in between that time. No idea I'd injured myself. 8 hours later I was in agony and couldn't move or straighten my leg. 5 days later now and still the same, can't move my leg. So yes, pain can be delayed, unless you tear it right off the bone. You'll see, feel and hear that straight away.
I tore my pect a little bit but it start hurting 3 days later though
Thanks!
Timestamps would help a lot in this
I went to hard on my inner thigh and after 2 days walking is still a nightmare and I'm not exaggerating I grunted when I went in a butterfly pose, not anything hard or an extreme butterfly but like a normal basic butterfly so I'm kinda worried (wait u actually read this wow)

I tore something in my neck, and walked around for a couple weeks with my necks bent sideways. Being the young idiot I was at the time, no doctors were involved. Hi doc, do grade 3 torn muscle usually needs surgery?
Thank you
3 months ago I injured my rib (or maybe the surrounding muscles) while massaging the QL with the foam roller. I heard a pop and a moment later the spot started to cramp. I did not know weather it was a broken rib, or a bruised rib. It healed for 99% and I massaged the QL with a massage ball while laying on the floor. And bam! Another pop and the feeling like the muscle or rib popped out of place. Back to square one. When I am breathing in firmly I hear a popping sound. Could this be a torn muscle as well?
Might want to get that checked out
while doing lunges got a scare..heard a pop by middle top quad.( hip flexer maybe?).either that or may have been the elastic on my boxers lol..but..no bruising, no severe pain, I could walk did few body squats..no issues..etc...just a little sore in the area as I walk...but not serious pain..first thing I did is stop working out and cut it short went home...iceed it few times , took Advil and went to bed.. next day..no signs of tear..I can bend walk ....could I have tore it ? Help...thanks for all your content...have been watching you guys..for years.. God Bless

Question, I have went to my general practitioner twice, my two other doctors moved on to be heart surgeons, so I had only seen this new GP twice and my muscle running from my shoulder up to my neck was torn, and the GP signed me up for physical therapy. I’ve had a pain specialist for the past 10 years, I am a professional athlete, he told me to stay off of it and use icy hot and a heating pad. My GP signed me up for physical therapy, so is this just going to re-injure the progress I’ve made with my pain specialist I’m staying off of it? I’m very confused One thinks physical therapy is going to help the other things time and heat on it will help. What is your thoughts on this? Oh I forgot to let you aware that I have fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s, lupus, and hypothyroidism and arthritis throughout my body. I have been professional equestrian all of my life. I’m not entirely sure what I did, but it’s pain over my heart. I lifted above what I was supposed to I guess and the moment I went to stretch the pain was so bad I had to freeze and slowly move the arm down.. hurt it 2 more times that day.

One day around 3 months ago I sat in right leg splits for too long and i almost couldn't walk for the rest of the day. I've been battling an injury on and off for almost two years now (will be 2 years ongoing on and off pain in december). So it all started after a body weight workout i had been out of the gym for a while, i'd say half a year. I've been weight training for more than 4 years so having stopped i began to lose gains. So i decided to start back slow and proceed with body weight workouts. I started with legs, I did pistol squats and lounges up my apartment complex stairs (3 stories) probably a total of 5 or 6 times. At the time i was a medium sized athlete i'd say 192 pounds 14% bmi so i have experience in the gym is the point i'm trying to make not bragging. So after my workout i experienced the normal pain and tightness after a workout but after the 3rd day of my recovery I woke up with a pinched nerve( Sciatica) originating at the hip and stopping before my knee mind you i could not move my leg or put any weight on it and i had major swelling in the front and outer of my hip area. So long story short because it's wayy too much to type. I tried working out again a couple days ago and i think i reinjured myself although this time not as bad i can walk with a limp after 2 days and medium pain. How do i recover safely and as fast as possible? I've received zero help from doctors they tried to treat it as a disc issue which is why i think i haven't gotten better in the past year and a half. Muscle relaxers and Ibuprofen are the only things that ease my pain. I've been given the steroid pack for herniated disc in the past it did nothing i've also been given a nerve pill which only cleared up my irritated nerve in the past. Note this time i have no nerve pain. Please help i've been trying everything to recover. Also note i've rode a motorcycle and worked a hard labor job all with this injury so that also prolonged recovery. Any advice is appreciated
Maybe go see a doctor???
