when the m6 drifter said 2JZ more affordable, maybe because toyota especially japanese cars is huge market in indonesia so it's not really hard to maintenance rather than europe engines.
it is. lots of 2jz are still around because it was officially sold here as a Toyota crown for a long period (late 90's to early 2000's) so, there's a lot of spare parts or even a donor engine to play around
That, and the V10 on this gen M6 are known to have some issues.
It's basically the suburb of Jakarta, not the city center. There is another drift track ACTUALLY located in the middle of the city, in Kemayoran (JI Expo).

I loved all of this. The all red car was definitely my favorite but those turbo sr20 sounds mhhhmmm chefs kiss.
They probably used a 2JZ-GE from a Toyota Crown instead of a GTE, which might be why he said it's more affordable. There's a lot of those in Indonesia because they were used as high-class taxi.
Nope, they use a 2JZ GTE and it has nothing related to Crown taxis because there is no Crown Comfort on a 2JZ, even the GE version
@@aquaboy1650 Specifically for Indonesia in 1995 to 2000 they sold the 8th gen Crown Royal Saloon with the 3 liter 2JZ-GE. Besides, the GTE is just a turbocharged GE, most of the running components are the same.

is a bmw m6 drift car that akbar rais own, akbar rais is the guy at 1:31. The BMW m6 got a custom body kit and with a 2jz engine that can produce 400whp

i think what akbar means by "2j is more affordable" is a specific to Indonesia where its all toyota toyota toyota toyota
And also because M6 engine might be a bit too fiddly in maintenance for drifting so not ideal in reliability sense
