Aizen even says so when he tried to cut Genryuusai down: "To you, I will not say "I will not kill you." You are the very history of Soul Society. You alone will die by my sword." Furthermore, and this is kinda theoretical, from what we've seen of Genryuusai's full power even if Aizen managed to achieve his goals without killing Genryuusai, he's too big of a threat to be even consider sparing. Aizen probably felt too threatened from Genryuusai as someone who pursued strength, because he was the only one who Aizen had seen surpass him in every way possible. Considering he wanted to occupy "The Empty Chair above it all" he did pursue strength, and even if he didn't feel threatened on a personal level Genryuusai is just too dangerous to not kill. Its telling that Kubo has through his writing made it perfectly clear that Genryuusai cannot be taken down in a fair fight (both the major villains have always come with a plan to counter Genryuusai, and no one else). It's even implied that Kyoka Suigetsu (from Karakura Town Aizen, not EOS Aizen) wouldn't even have worked against Genryuusai as he was able to feel the reiatsu of the sword piercing him, and he'd be able to counter any Kido with his own (considering he was able to cast, in a half dead state, Hado 96 in a capacity far beyond Soul Society Aizen's Hado 90 when they should at least be comparable its safe to assume he'd be able to stop any Kido) plus his hakuda still remains the best we've seen in the entire series. Aizen couldn't have beaten him no matter what he did if he didn't have Wonderweiss. Thus Genryuusai couldn't be allowed to recover as he was the only one Aizen feared.
Well a lot of side characters die without ever showing us what they are truly capable of, Ukitake for example ugh!!! @Kevin Byrnes There's literally a podcast out there of Crafts reading Bleach for the first time.. Crafts cannot be one of those "always has been Bleach fans" channels, even if he wishes to
This is definitely one of the best heel turns in Jump history (you had an ENTIRE volume dedicated to Aizen fucking over everyone). I would even dare say it's unprecedented; and also that Aizen was one of the first "Mastermind" type villains that set the trend for the type of scheming villain we see more nowadays, compared to back then where the shonen villain was usually a power type like in Dragonball. Even though sadly, later on it falls apart and doesn't live up to this amazing introduction, "End of Hypnosis" is definitely one of the best volumes of any manga, and at the time I can definitely see how it made the entire fandom's jaws drop.
Then Aizen should be grateful to Ichigo for giving him another opportunity to look at the world from a different perspective and to go back to the person who questioned everything
EXCEPT, Aizen actually planned that Ichigo might be able to train for "weeks" in dangai before facing him. He implied as much as soon as Ichigo arrived in Karakura. HOWEVER, Aizen had his own "monkey seeing moon" situation, thinking that there was absolutely no way he could lose to Ichigo, and while this is partially true, considering he is still alive, it backfired because now he is bound to a chair. Kinda like the Emperor from Warhammer 40k. It seems that it is the destiny of badass, absolutely OP characters to end up sitting for the rest of forever.
Aizen being the bad guy surprised me when I watched Bleach for the first time, as he just felt like a side character who was there to be killed off. His betrail came out of nowhere (though I was also a kid back then, so I likely missed some very clear flags)

I just think Aizen destroyed the Kōtotsu and delayed in the human world knowing it would give Ichigo a chance to progress rapidly. It wasn't a mistake He wanted someone to test his new powers or maybe it goes deeper then that Ichigo talks about how he can feel the wielders emotions through the swords and he only felt loneliness through his sword when he was on his level, maybe he intentionally gave him the chance to grow to around his own level so that he could understand Aizen l but i don't think he ever expected him to completely surpass him.
As for the eventual Hell Arc, I have a feeling it will end with the 5 war potentials all sharing power, rather than there being a Soul King trapped away, and hell (no pun intended) there may not even be a Soul Society anymore and the relationship between Quincy, Shinigami, and Hollows ever more changed.
This might be one of the greatest bleach analysis videos on the internet. There are so many thematic line and details that I had never picked up on prior to this video, from Squad 11 dismissing healers only for zaraki to revere a healer, from Aizen's incomplete philosophy being completed full circle by Ichigo the moon breaker. Thinking about it now it feels like this was the entire philosophy of bleach. Kubo stated himself that he enjoys writing characters that aren't what they seem to be, and Aizen being the greatest example of that feels really fitting.
Aizen destroying that Doomtrain meant that he knew Ichigo could use it to get stronger and so he wanted to see it. Even when Dangai Ichigo appeared and wanted to change the setting, Aizen attempted to say that there was no need. (implying that he would not need to destroy Karakura Town after all despite wiping out Gin). Aizen even learns from his defeat to Ichigo and at the end of TYBW he calls humans will to keep on living, courage. Even before that, Aizen lamented that Ichigo entering the Royal Realm first is "a hard man to forgive." implying forgiveness. It's still hard to say what would have happened during the final fight before Juha resurrected himself, but Aizen did seemingly go back to Muken to serve his sentence, however he has disappeared as of the Hell chapter one off. I don't think Aizen will be an enemy to Ichigo again. So I'm looking forward to seeing what happens with the eventual Hell Arc. *Edit:* During the final battle with Juha, Aizen even exclaims "Welcome to my Soul Society," meaning a new Soul Society were to be borne from the ruins of the old.
Aizen @ soul society: See the moon! Look! Don't you see the moon? Look at the moon Ichigo: Ah, yes, see the moon? See the moon! Touch the moon! Know the moon! BE the moon! DESTROY THE MOON
Ichigo wasn't immune to KS, Tosen was. Aizen never showed KS to Ichigo intentionally. With all the world under hypnosis, Ichigo's existence unaffected by KS, he was partly Aizen's creation alongside Isshin and Masaki.
1:59, 2:02 nice I like that I discovered this many more the when reading the manga btw anyone who sees this check out the manga but give the first arc time to pop off
Watching this video, i'm starting to think Soul Society is less of a authoritarian goverment and more of a fascist one, considering how Yamamoto acted in the fake karakura town arc, it's highly unlikely, but the line between authoratarian & fascism is blured so i can't really tell which.
This video opened my eyes to many things I didn’t considered about the plot and the characters. And I’m really happy about that. Bleach was the first manga I ever read. I really loved it and seeing it getting progressively worse and noticing so many glaring flaws that nowadays I don’t see in many other battle shonen ,along with that cursed final chapter, made me really sad and bitter. I still think that some of these flaws are irredeemable but this video made me at least realize that I have to analyze things more thoroughly (and, believe me, I already analyzed this manga quite a bit) before judging them.
We really live in a soul society.
And we need to be the Ichigo in it. Keep evolving and question things along the way without any preconception. So that we can see past the reflection.

Awesome analysis!
Aizen’s primary motivation throughout the entire series was to create an equal.
This was worth the wait!
Damn this was a pretty cool vid. Nice to see Bleach get some deserved praise
Bleach has too much potential even greater then one peice
Its lore and world can explore too Much because of its big cosmology and characters
You did an amazing job there. kudos for this amazing video
Aizen, Sidious, and Littlefinger should all be put in one room to create a master plan.
This is THE VIDEO that i was yearning for!🔥🔥
Such an underrated video
New subscriber right off the bat.
Good work...
Let’s be honest... his plot armor helped him fight Kenpachi 😂
not really. His bloodline did
@@alfa01spotivo Yeah and honestly I wouldn't even say Ichigo won that fight. It was more of a draw since they both fell off.
Kenpachi wasnt expecting he would be in trouble against him.
Crazy good video man
Oh boy about my favourite character Josh Groban
I've been waiting since this was on the Nenshow for Craftswarf to make a stand alone video about bleach
The Bleach video was worth the wait.
Eyyyy, love this!
The prophecy has been fullied!
THE GOAT .
Inspired by Socrates himself huh, kudos.
Its so weird you mention this because I was just reading about the life and death of Socrates
@@SuperBlaze117 Same here bro, I've been doing some research on the Greek civilization and their philosophers. Get enlightened brother.
@Kevin Byrnes ichigo is leonidas
The music seems fitting for Aizen and I don't even know why.
Bro... This is what I need
He finally did it
That thumbnail is so unsettling
Aizen @ soul society: See the moon! Look! Don't you see the moon? Look at the moon
Ichigo: Ah, yes, see the moon? See the moon! Touch the moon! Know the moon! BE the moon! DESTROY THE MOON
Damn skippy, this was entertaining as fuck
Ichigo wasn't immune to KS, Tosen was. Aizen never showed KS to Ichigo intentionally. With all the world under hypnosis, Ichigo's existence unaffected by KS, he was partly Aizen's creation alongside Isshin and Masaki.
Bleach really could have been a seinen anime.
Loved this
May be he did give them leads but he probably knew he would win. It's not possible he genuinely wanted to save rukia
1:59, 2:02 nice I like that I discovered this many more the when reading the manga btw anyone who sees this check out the manga but give the first arc time to pop off
THANK YOU
sublime!
Good video!!! For me Aizen and Urahara are the best characters in Bleach.
Watching this video, i'm starting to think Soul Society is less of a authoritarian goverment and more of a fascist one, considering how Yamamoto acted in the fake karakura town arc, it's highly unlikely, but the line between authoratarian & fascism is blured so i can't really tell which.
What Shniji reveal Aizen hiding was a kido spell and that wasn't even Aizen that was his agent.
>Bleach video from Craftsdwarf
A surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one.
the goat.
Nice video
Finished a 15 minute video in 2 minutes. Chad 😎
I still think that some of these flaws are irredeemable but this video made me at least realize that I have to analyze things more thoroughly (and, believe me, I already analyzed this manga quite a bit) before judging them.
nah it was still a good shonen the whole way
Yes, this, exactly!
