So many great shooters on Switch, it's worth getting a seperate memory card for them! Tough to pick a favourite, but I honestly would pick the OG Doom as my desert island disk I'm an old skool boomer shooter at heart and that game NEVER gets old!
Star Wars Republic Commando deserves to be on this list, at least as an honorable mention. But this list is solid. 👍 I just started playing crysis remastered for the first time and it is excellent.
@@SwitchCorner There's a bug in the game's camera when you play through the second part of the game. That's the only gripe i have with the switch version.
I really wanted to like Republic Commando, but its a bad port and hasnt aged well. Aiming and giving orders is very clunky and frustrating. Hitboxes are weird, which makes hitting stuff frustrating. Running out of ammo is frustrating. Switching weapons is frustrating. Using the Sniper Scope is frustrating. Healing up is frustrating. Gyro aiming wouldve fixed some of this, but its absent. Not to mention the bad framerate and widescreen stretched assets like the menu and loading screens. Aspyr simply doesnt have any passion for the source material they are given.
Hard to choose which is the best FPS game but my latest two is boltgun and nightmare reaper. Splatoon 3 catalog is a grind and keeps me coming back though.
@@SwitchCorner Sadly I haven't gotten to it because I've been backlog and getting games on sale but I'll update you on how it runs on switch when I can.
I've been on an FPS kick lately. Love Borderlands, and just finished Call Of Juarez this weekend. Next up is the Crysis trilogy. Can't wait to lose myself in that series.
enjoyed call of jaurez and hope the other games do come out on the switch for it. I havent played the other but seen the gameplay of them and do look fun. I had fun with Jaurez it was nice as different some of more modern setting shooters we always see popping up
A quick warning for "Project Warlock". It is a good and fun game, but unfortunetly the switch version lacks a new game plus and horde version unlike the steam version which has both. It just doesn't feel like completing the game was worth it knowing I couldn't unlock everything and would have to restart everything to play it again.
I don't really know of any honestly, the problem is the joycon need to be constantly reset because the cursor drifts. VR has been my best modern spin on the old shooters like that
I absolutely wished Goldeneye 007 had a digital release for switch, why did it have to be through the Nintendo Online service. Project Warlock is an awesome game, great how it's 2d in a 3d world. Hopefully the 2nd installment comes to the switch soon.
Doom Eternal is frustrating with its Vaseline visuals but ill soldier on in the hope I get used to is, still prefer its predecessor. I can vouch that Metroid Prime is easy to get lost it. While Crysis are brilliant games just a shame that they come top on the switch considering their age
Out of all the games here, Bright Memory Infinite was a big disappointment for me. Everything you said, I agree with. I would always try and get it on sale and never full price because of the run time, so much potential wasted.
From Birmingham originally, moved to London, then I went to New York, at that point no one could understand me so I had to force my voice a bit, a year later I moved to Arizona and things got worse lol, most recently los angeles, and it's turned into some weird thing. I had my brummie accent on my original videos 7 years ago and no one bad a clue what I was saying so it's this weird presenter voice

Great list Alex, love the shoutouts to Void Bastards and Journey to the savage planet, two of my favorites
Both lesser known but great options
So many great shooters on Switch, it's worth getting a seperate memory card for them!
Tough to pick a favourite, but I honestly would pick the OG Doom as my desert island disk
I'm an old skool boomer shooter at heart and that game NEVER gets old!
Yeah these are for sure some of the bigger game install sizes out there! You can't fault OG Doom
Doom’s graphical style and gameplay has aged really well, it’s a perfect game and is definitely my favorite FPS of all time.
This is great list now I'll just share this video everytime someone ask for a FPS recommendation on switch thanks.
Thank you! Share, likes, comments, all that jazz helps a huge amount
Really likes this video!!!!! Most people only talk about top 5 or ten. But you talk about it all!
For a great Metroidvania FPS I highly recommend "Powerslave/Exhumed", a fantastic port of the magnificent Sega Saturn classic.
That's on my list of games to play, I've heard great things. Another couple of recent ones for me are Chasm and Nightmare Reaper!
Damn, I always wanted to know this list. So glad you talked about it!
Few games missing that are recent, Boltgun needs a patch and I’m currently working through nightmare reaper
@@SwitchCorner I’m a big 40k fan, so I’ve picked up on the Steam Deck, couldn’t wait for the patch. But I’ll definitely check out Nightmare Reaper!
I played Boltgun on PlayStation, great fun
As a Small Soldiers fan growing up (great movie!) Hypercharged Unbox was a great buy even at full price on release! \o/
Very few teams support a game for such a long time as well, that game has changed a lot.
nice to see crysis getting some love
It's a great port so it's deserved!
Quake is one of my favorite switch games! Feel like I stole it when I bought it on sale. And obviously DUSK is amazing.
Yeah right, the pricing on Quake is one of the best on the system in my opinion. They clearly put a ton of effort in and were still fair!
A lot of bangers here. I have a lot of these already.
Yeah, we are spoilt for first person shooters now
@@SwitchCorner And I'm okay with that.
One of my favorite retro shooters is Project Warlock. I just started playing it and am really enjoying it.
i am playing dying light on my switch and i am more than 30 hours in … loved the game 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Nice! They did some great work with that one and kept the patches coming!
I played it all the way through with DLC. Great looking game, one of my favorite switch ports.
Solid list! I played most of the games in this video!
Thanks Axeru! Yeah, the genres become well loved on the system
@@SwitchCorner I'm surprised that the Switch got a lot of FPS games!
Thank you for this comprehensive list. Amazing resource
Fashion police squad definitely is #1 when it comes to the best game name
Lol, I can agree with that!
Bulletstorm man Ive had that one for years still never played it lol. Need to finish Doom Eternal. Tempted to get Quake multiple times.
I've had it for about seven or eight months myself and haven't even launched it. 😆
It's well worth the time, good characters, over the top action
It’s better than Doom Eternal in my opinion. It’s easier and more fun !!! I finished it 2-3 times!
I with thr switch had a light gun accessory I'll like to play as if holding a toy gun I dont know if trying to mimic the wii light gun would work..
Me too, the problems these new TV's cause though make it difficult/expensive. I'd love to see games like Time Crisis and Point Blank make a return
@@SwitchCorner funny enough when the nes light gun was a thing tv's were a problem loll
@@SwitchCorner well they did release the house of the dead remake but its not the same withoit the gun
Star Wars Republic Commando deserves to be on this list, at least as an honorable mention. But this list is solid. 👍 I just started playing crysis remastered for the first time and it is excellent.
The only reason I skipped was it was a bit of a mess when I played it at launch and I’m yet to go back and see if they fixed it, it’s on my list
@@SwitchCorner There's a bug in the game's camera when you play through the second part of the game. That's the only gripe i have with the switch version.

I'm really enjoying Warhammer 4k Boltgun
Good to hear, I played on the PS5. I heard the switch version had some weird quirks, I wonder if they patched it
@@SwitchCorner
All patched up. The only issue is the absence of gyro. But even so, the aim is fast and responsive
Hard to choose which is the best FPS game but my latest two is boltgun and nightmare reaper. Splatoon 3 catalog is a grind and keeps me coming back though.
Nightmare Reaper is unique right! Have they patched Boltgun? I played it/reviewed it on PS5 but still need to check out the Switch build
@@SwitchCorner Sadly I haven't gotten to it because I've been backlog and getting games on sale but I'll update you on how it runs on switch when I can.
Don't sleep on Immortal Redneck - serious time sink. With the clever combination of random rooms doesn't get old quickly. It is hard though.
Yeah that game can be brutal
My Top 3 would have to be DOOM (series), Goldeneye, and Turok 2. Grew up with them and basically began the love I have for single player FPS!
Love it, keep with them ones that create the appreciation for the genre
I replayed Duke on switch and it is NOSTALGIA 1000!
Metroid Prime is so good!
Such a good port, the visuals have really stood the test of time as well, they haven't had to do too much
I've been on an FPS kick lately. Love Borderlands, and just finished Call Of Juarez this weekend. Next up is the Crysis trilogy. Can't wait to lose myself in that series.
I just downloaded them all. What’s your favorite Crysis so far?
@@sharpdad33 Three is the best, but I've enjoyed them all. That being said, I still prefer Borderlands.
My favorite was 1, then 3, then 2. Crysis is quality
Everything bright memory is usually very short it's not worth it at all but the visuals are fantastic
Boltgun. New but oh so much fun. And Ion Fury. Doom 3? Prodeus. Anything Borderlands. Those are mine. So much choice.
Yeah, considering we started with near no choice, now we have tons of options!
Most of these are fantastic but absolutely nothing comes close to Doom Eternal!
Yessir
I'm sure many will agree with you on that! Soundtrack is a banger too
Some of these ports are still excellent
Yeah, some great options
great list. quake 2 now, and turok 3 coming soon to add to it too.
Is turok 3 finally getting a remaster?
@@gabs3147 yess :D

Good to know, my only experience is on the switch
QUAKE!!! Its time for a remake of Quake!
Would love to see it!
What games are good with the switch gun?
I don't really know of any honestly, the problem is the joycon need to be constantly reset because the cursor drifts. VR has been my best modern spin on the old shooters like that
@SwitchCorner I have a quest 2 but I get sick feeling when playing some games
Great video, thanks!!
Glad you liked it!
Are any of these better for motion sickness?
He labels if they have motion controls in the top left corner under the title
Thanks both! Yeah, motion controls should really help!
Absolutely fantastic video 😎👌
Thank you very much!
How well does bright memory run on the switch?
lol Ion Fury wasn’t developed by 3D Realms, it been over a couple of decades since they developed any games.
I've only ever played Call of Duty before (casually). Can anyone recommend something similar for a beginner like me? (For the Switch obviously 😊)
I absolutely wished Goldeneye 007 had a digital release for switch, why did it have to be through the Nintendo Online service.
Project Warlock is an awesome game, great how it's 2d in a 3d world. Hopefully the 2nd installment comes to the switch soon.
I think they should have done a bit more with Goldeneye personally, it deserves the love
Borderlands 2 overwatch 2 and crysis remastered are really good.
Prodeus and dying light are awesome as well. But i played on xbox.
Nice, Prodeus is better on other systems honestly, we miss a few nice options in it
I need a 1tb SD card for these games
Yeah, there's for sure some bigger games on this list when it comes to install size!
Crysis 2 and 3 are excellent singleplayers game and they run great
Don’t miss Decimated!
No xiii?
Wasn't a massive fan of what I played at release, it's actually on my list of games to return to
I know it's a stretch, but I gotta shout out Power Wash Simulator 💦
I did question if that should be included lol - it’s great fun
@@SwitchCorner it is a FPS I was actually good at! 👍
No The Outer Worlds??? Great game
I’ve not played it since launch and it was a mess so didn’t wanna risk it being in the video
@@SwitchCorner they've patched it up considerably since launch. Give a second chance
I should pick up some fps games eventually on the switch.
Yeah, there's more than enough options!
Where are resident evil collection
No price point in the video ? 😝
Yeah, I don’t with these as they tend to last for over 12 months and prices often change - I’ve never known, because of that, whether it’s worth it
@@SwitchCorner Thanks fir the reply. 😝

The visuals didn't annoy me too much, I think the fact it even runs got me into it.
Nothing at all from Rebellion?!?!?!?
I don't believe they have a first person shooter only third mainly with a combo
I had high hopes for the XIII remake. Tis a shame.
Void bastards if you wanna a replayable game, roguelike and upgrades
Boomerang X stole the Glaive
KRULL!!!
@@Otto_Pilate 😁 yup
