I don’t get why they ended the show they could have easily done a fifth season and they set it up perfectly. A fifth season would have been a perfect ending.
Apparently the show runner said he didn’t want to risk them not getting picked up for a 5th season + all the delays happening now with the strike 😢but I agree a 5th season would’ve been perfect to end it. We didn’t even get to see them graduate
I like where it ended because it left things feeling a mix of concluded and open. The main ships were finalized and others were given foundations, and another season could mess with that depending on who is in charge/influence from higher ups, and various future pursuits of characters (college, movie deals) are confirmed but left open for us to place into our own happily ever after depending on preferences. I think it’s a good combination of “let’s leave the characters on a bright high note with a strong sense of catharsis, family, love, belonging, and resolution, while still giving the viewers room to imagine the rest for themselves in a positive, fond way”

Meta is basically like when the show is self aware and refers to itself. Like how they talk about Disney+ when the show itself is on Disney+. It’s kinda hard to explain but does this help??

I still hate Ricky honestly… he never got accountability for how petty he’d been the previous seasons, at least not enough accountability I guess. I love EJ knocking some sense into him, even though I think he still could’ve gone harder.

You could say “no rina are more alike” but even portwell were alone watched tv together they explained to each other about how they are and try to listen and learn more. Strong communication for sure. They do have sm in common they both didn’t want to reach out to each other earlier in the season because they were both scared to put themselves out there and get rejected because Nini and Ricky rejected them. And then guess what rini happened. It feels like they were just rebounds. Ricky doesn’t deserve Gina, he only realized his feelings for her in season 3. When Gina liked for so long, then got over him, found a new guy, then ricky wants her now. Ricky definitely BROKE Gina’s heart, and the writers are just putting that aside. It’s because bitchy ricky needs to have a love interest when the show’s over since Olivia left. Rina would of only happened bc of Olivia leaving, not because their the love each other’s supposed to have. They did ej very dirty, just leaving him in the dusts so ricky can love again. I don’t think he’s had much good character development either. He’s funny, yeah, but that doesn’t change much. Ricky slapped him, thew a basketball at him, tried to break up him and Nini, flirted with his girlfriend, and then got both 2 girls at the end. But ej still called him a brother. Portwell both developed and their perfect. Ej has done so much for Gina. Gina appreciated because she said “I see the guy who ___” and “maybe if you forgave yourself a little you’ll see what I-the rest of us see” so yeah❤
