I find that the Q3-43 and a SL3 with an APO-Summicron 90mm is a very good combination. And hand out a D-Lux8 to a Photo affine Guest to make more pictures from their perspective...
Giving the D-Lux to a guest is a great move! I imagine that really unique photos come from that. :) And the Q3 42 and APO 90mm sound really fun! Two APO Lenses...crazy quality!! Love it
Great video and beautiful work! Helpful to me because I am interested in how the Q3 performs in these settings. I’m saving up for one at the moment. Are you tempted by the Q3 43?
Thank you! :)) I think the Q3 performes quite niceley here. I wouldn't rely on the eye-autofocus when there are many people in the frame. The focus behaves quite random and not reliable there. When there is only 1-2 People the Eye Autofocus is great! For the other occasions I suggest using another focus type like center or area. Or just focus manually. I learned that with my M10. You really get the hang of it and then you're actually really fast with focusing. Or even using the rangefinder works great. If I'd decide to use my Q3 as a main camera I'd feel safe doing so. I just don't have another battery or SD-Card to cover a full day. That's why I use it occasionally in between. The 128gb V90 card was like 200€ xD And the 128gb SD Card for my Canon costs 25€ :D The Q3 43 is really lovely! Looks like a super fun lens and it complements the Q3 28 niceley. But I'm so content with my camera that I don't need the 43. I initially bought the Q3 as an everyday companion. And the 28mm is better for that. When taking a photo of stuff I have right in front of me, the 28mm and the nice close focus distance are a perfect fit imo. :)
Spoiler: NO. Using whatever camera while you are getting rest from main photo shoot doesn't mean this camera for weddings, so either title or conclusion is misleading, or both. "iPhone for Weddings" would be even better as you can omit photos transfer. :) How do you match colors from such a different systems on single photo shoot? Or you don't bother?
You're right, that might be misleading a little. I guess saying that "the Q3 complements your main setup really well" makes a good point here. And that's what I experience from using it on Weddings this year. It doesn't fully keep up with my R6 but still is really capable. And I'd say even using it as a main Camera will also work. Many use a manual Leica that is even slower in all regards for a full wedding and it works perfectly. But you're right, I didn't clarify that in a final conclusion. :) I'll keep that in mind for future Videos. The Colormatching comes mostly from my Preset. It works in a way that any RAW file will give you pretty much the same outcome. That's how I can easily use any type of RAW file and have a harmonic result. :)
2:01 what a shot man, thanks for sharing
