The cap is not screw on!!! The new lens cap fits a lot tighter so I think you’re unscrewing the lens hood which will be inside the lens cap…. You need to use a bit more force to take the cap off or what I do is turn it clockwise a bit and pull at same time and it will come off a bit more easily
I literally picked up my own Q3 and tried to unscrew it while watching this video. I didn't think it was a screw-on cap and had a moment of, "oh crap! I have just been popping it off! Was I supposed to be unscrewing it all this time!?"@@ShakeelNaim @mackjulion
This was a great in depth review! Thank you for showing sample images in edited from the camera and for being as honest as possible. You didn’t waste time getting into it.
Made it through! Thanks for the real world experience from a Portrait photographer and non-leica fan-boy standpoint . Best informative video on the Q3 on YT yet.
The quality of this video is great! I need to rent the Lecia! I fell in love with their cell phone camera. I can only imagine the camera being amazing!
Gotta love the new “screw on lens cap” feature 😂. Did you never think to wonder where the lens hood was? I wish we could all be there to see your expression the minute you realize it’s not a screw on lens cap.
Totally agree. I wish I had had my Q2 when I was shooting weddings. Personally, I think the Monochrom, dedicated to B&W imagery would be an insanely helpful addition to carry all day at a wedding.
You will get the same level of compression as a 90 mm lens because you will have to step back that much more to keep the subject in frame. Obviously just cropping a inage in post is a different story . Remember, compression is due to different perspective, the further away you are, the flatter the subject appears. You wont get the same shallow depth of field though.
Thanks for the awesome review Mack! Would it be possible for you to upload some raw file of a wedding, so we can try and play with the files? I truly appreciate it! Thanks
i made it through! Thanks for your thoughts. I'm still torn between a Q2 Reporter and the Q3. But this video helps push the envelope a bit towards the latter!
After investing in Sony ecosystem it’s difficult for me to consider other cameras in this price point. User experience for simplicity sake I get it but will the customer know the difference from the pictures of what camera was used? No. Ultimately regardless of camera brand old and new it’s the photographer’s eye and skill that can create stunning images.
Been shooting with Sony’s for over 9 years. Own the Q2 and Q3. Even the Sony A7Riii is a better camera in every way for photo. But shooting with Leicas is more of a mind trip. That’s all. Any of the recent Sony’s would give any Leica a run for the money. I also shoot with the M11. In the end is what I spires you to take a great image. Composition and subject is what matters. Most of my favorite photographers shot all their work with cameras that by today standards would be untouchable by some young photographers. And a lot of that work I love is not even in focus.
I use the Profoto A1x (Fuji mount). Works like a charm. I have also used the Godox V1 and it is great as well. I’m just used to Profoto, I had a lot of Profoto A1x batteries and so I found a flash for a good price.
And is this truth, actually its a zoom lens. Because you have this crop functions (windows) and with the 60MP pixels you can crop to like 50mm or 70mm and thats the same like using a 50mm or 70mm lens. Am I right?

Thank you for sharing your experience with the new Q3. I love the flip screen on my GX9 so I am considering this new Leica Q3.

Very good your explanation.I love it.Thanks.
I made it via!!! I like the video and photos
Great stuff! What flash or flashes did you use and what trigger? Thanks!
I used the Profoto connect trigger (Nikon Mount) as well as the Nikon Profoto A1 flash.
Thank you! I have the pro photo Leica trigger, and I also have a Nikon one as well. I have the SL2, but I have a Q3 on order.
Great video
Do you pair this Leica Q with another body for a longer focal length?
@@AdrianNiveau I would pair it with the SL2-S and the 85mm 1.4 Sigma.
2:54 u actually used the lens cap 'wrong', it actually is push on, they made it tighter than Q2
I made it through. Nice talk

Great video. I have a lot of cinematic Q3 video content. A if you like to See how it performs 😛
What flash do you use for Leica on weddings / events ?

I think a lot of the reason someone buys a Leica is the color science behind the Leica
Какое ох...енное цветовое решение желтого поло и фона!!!

The image quality in 6:00,6:05 and 6:11 is just insane. I dont think sony canon nikon fuji can top that with any lens and settings
I’m in Chicago. Just got the M11. Let’s hang

I have Leica Q3 and you get same shots with any digital camera mate
Those photos are unedited?????????
Unedited Jpeg’s straight out the camera.
@MackJulion Good lord they look amazing.
Can you share what in camera settings you used for the jpegs? Film style, Leica looks?
@@simonparker6932 a mix of the Natural and Standard.

Do you have an email? I have a question about teaching? I don't think it's a terrible long question but maybe you could help me
its also good because Leica owners they uprgade maybe after 10 yrs so its still cheap
