@@camerafusion Ive been to RUclips jail a few times!! Pro here 35 years in the game - some might say its not the camera its the person behind it, some others might say its not the camera or the person but the subject - whilst others still might say its all about what you do in post - either way I have always insisted on the best gear for both acquisition, processing and final exhibition. If theres a problem I can't blame anything or anyone but me!!
Well I mean... I have the MP in black paint and the reissued M6 right now, and I previously owned the Q2M, M262, and M10. But honestly, when I'm not shooting analog, I find myself reaching for the X100V and my GR3 way more often than any of the digital Leicas. The film Ms are iconic-nothing else comes close-but the digital Leicas just ... never appeals to me at all
What I've seen is that Fuji shooters are the most likely to appreciate Leica (and visa versa) due to both being the only brands that heavily feature cameras with an interface that uses marked controls for the exposure triangle as opposed to the modal PASM-dial interface. But a lot of people hate Leica because it's expensive and that means some of its customers will buy it because they're rich and they can, and that understandably is annoying to put it mildly. That said, I think we need to keep in mind that there are also plenty of Leica shooters that are simply photographers (both pro and hobbyists) that spent a lot of time saving up a lot of money to spend on tools for a craft they really care about.
Thanks for your thoughtful comments. I'm definitely not rich by any means, but I guess that's all perspective. I love photography and the gear. I have camera's that cost $45 that I absolutely love and make cameras out of wood and 3D print them too. I love it all.
@@torb-no I believe that many love Leica and Fujifilm cameras because of the fun experience of using them. They are just great to work with, and built with precision so that your results when you work with them are excellent and reliably so. I am not rich, but this is my third Leica purchased over 18 years. I would own a Fujifilm camera but they(at least the ones that I am interested in buying)are always out of stock. My good friend and accomplished photographer has the reverse problem. Leica is always out of the cameras he wants so he buys a Fuji.
@@camerafusionYour video is creating nonexisted conflicts between the photographer communities, and if you do not mean by your title in a verbatim manner, you are a "title maker" then.
It is truly an experience to use Leica. It is like once you experienced a first class seat, it is really hard to go back to an economy seat. You will find the way to make more money so you can buy more Leica gear. lol
Thanks for that! I'm not sure where I picked this one up. I can't find where I ordered it so I think I may have gotten it from AliExpress. Don't let the looks fool ya, it's not very good quality. It looks nice at a glance.
I love Leica. I love my Fuji. It has a fair amount of features the Leica lacks, and price cant change that. It really is that simple! I often run film simulations and avoid editing when I can. I like the dreamy film like shots that only the Fuji allows me with my custom settings. Sometimes a crazy clinical image isn't what I'm after. I shoot film a lot, and naturally the Fuji feels right at home running my Kodak Gold, Portra and Ilford HP5 simulations! Simply put Fuji is the only camera to not making shooting feel like "work" to me.
Well said Jordan! I love the film simulations too. It’s half the fun. I love that you can edit within the camera and apply different film simulations. Fujis awesome!
I put myself on every U.S. Leica Store's waiting list for the Q3 28mm when it first came out. I had also put myself on waiting lists for the Fuji x100v. Leica Los Angeles came thru for me first, so the Q3 now lives at my house. When I got the call that my name was next on the list for the Fuji X100v, it was way to expensive to afford after I bought the Q3! So the Leica was the only camera that accompanied me to Italy, Turkey, and Greece this summer. What a great photo vaycay, just me and my Leica Q3!! The straps on your cameras in the video! Who makes those???
Thanks Jeff! I’d love to get the Q3 43 but I’ve been going a bit crazy with the purchases lately. As for the camera straps, the brand is called Evergreen. Very inexpensive, but decent quality, so far.
Stumbled on this video. I’ve shot with (and will always love) Fuji with multiple bodies including the x100v/vi for the past 10 years. Last Saturday, I purchased my first Leica…M11P in silver. I plan on keeping most of my Fuji gear. The M11P is my dream camera. Appreciate and share your take.
@@joelb727 that’s awesome. Definitely some beautiful cameras. Congratulations on your new M11P. It’s an amazing camera! Thanks so much for watching and commenting. I greatly appreciate it.
I use Fuji and I love Leica but there is no chance of getting one in the house! Q3 43 would be nice. On film, just get a Zorki 4k (great range finder) and put some leica glass on it.
I have gone from Fuji to Leica and now I have both. I have 4 Fujis, 2 Leicas and a French Pixii rangefinder. I currently have the Xpro1, Xpro2 and XPRO3 and a Leica M11-P and Leica M11M. Love the black rangefinder look.
@@camerafusion Nothing new. You are too young to have lived during the film camera days. It was Nikon, it was Canon. The rest were the rest. I was a tribal member of the Nikon brand, though I did start out in the Pentax tribe. It's all stupid. My Leica, my Fuji is the best of both, the Sony A7CR with a 40mm f2.8 lens. I skip the Fuji tribe and the Leica cult.
Come on, you know you want to jump on board with us. I also have Canon and Sony's and love them too! There's just something special about a rangefinder style camera. Strangely enough, I have not tried Nikon (yet)
@@bondgabebond4907 "It's all stupid," two seconds later "I skip the Leica Fuji cult tribe." 😴 I started on a Praktica TL, fwiw. Not sure why age and brand cred matter-- each of us possess both, yet you're still a bit of a doof.
I have been trying different Fujifilms since the first X100 to emulate the rangefinder experience and have never really gotten along with them. I finally switched fully to Leica in 2020 and regret wasting nearly ten years on imitations.
Interesting. I started as Leica shooter and just bought a Fuji GFX. Completely different experiences. Fuji doesn’t feel as refined of a shooting experience but you get good photos though!
@@camerafusion Yeah I get the comments about wasting my money etc. 😭 It's a passionate hate for Leica but I'm like uh, why are you watching my video then...lol
Hello from France. I have an X100V (bought long before it was fashionable), I have a D-lux8, and I had an M10-P with a 35 summicron. My dream camera would be (for a D-lux9 or X100VII release): - The design and compactness of the D-lux 8 - The D-lux 8's menus - The ergonomics of the D-lux 8's knobs - A fixed focal length of 35, like the X100V (or a choice of 28, 35 or 50) - Built-in mini-flash, like the X100V - Film simulations like the X100V - Easy access to video mode (or to the like the D-lux8 more practical than the X100V) Explanation: When I got my x100v (replacing a sony A6600 whose form factor I liked, but whose performance I didn't), I found the X100V more of a toy, as it was bigger and less heavy (as if there were a vacuum inside). It took me a long time to appreciate it, as I found it too big and thought it could have been more compact (because of that feeling of emptiness). Then I got the M10-P. I found it extremely heavy and much less practical than the x100V. On the other hand, the level of finish and the simplicity of the menus made me fall in love with it. But the X100V is really usable in all conditions (flash, nd filter, evf if necessary, less expensive so less fear of breaking it or having it stolen). I sold the M10-P and bought the Leica D-Lux 8: I totally fell in love with the form factor. More compact because it's a M4/3, denser in weight than the X100V (which gives it a quality feel), fun setting wheels (compared to the X100V, which are harder and lighter at the same time), and finally Leica menus that are a grail. Incredible finish quality. However, problems with the D-lux 8: rather long on/off times, zoom far too long, impossible to lock focal lengths (apparently available on older Panasonic versions), impossible to jump between focal lengths (also available on older Panasonic versions). I would have liked the Dlux 8 to offer : - choice of focal length (24/28/35/43/50/75) with a mechanical dial, even with the camera switched off (rather than being able to choose the image ratio, for example) - Power button like the x100V (rather than a tiny button that's both too hard to reach and too easy to press unintentionally). - A built-in mini-flash I wish the X100V had offered : - Either to suppress video and thus purify the menus, or conversely to have a button dedicated to video recording (without going through the drive menu). - A denser design, for want of a more compact APSC with an optical viewfinder (which I fully understand). +++ Thanks for your very interesting video!
WOW! That's awesome! You hit so many great points. I just received the D-Lux 8 a couple of days ago, but honestly I'm underwhelmed with it. I thought it would bring Leica Looks, but I guess not. Not sure what Leica is thinking with that decision, Hopefully that will be added in a firmware update. Fuji's film simulations alone makes the X100 series worth the buy. I prefer the overall feel of the X100v but maybe it's because I'm used to it. You're spot on with the menu system. Leica's is only second to Hasselblad or at least it's close. If we could get Fuji to make a true range finder but somehow be able to keep all the goodness of the X100's, that would be a must have camera. Thanks so much for the watch and awesome comment.
Fuji shooter here…. Also have an M8.2…. Gotta say I’m having way more fun with the M8.2 than my X100V…. will keep both cameras as the X100V excels as my street shooter …. The Leica shutter is just too noisy to be discreet…..But I do love that sound….😊
For the last 35 years I have put Leica and Hasselblad on a pedestal as the best in design and build quality. I’m a Fujifilm shooter but would like to get a (one) Leica. However, I’m concerned the obsessive part of my personality would go down a rabbit hole of collecting, to the detriment of my photography. I’ve been trying to decide which one Leica to get, between M3, M8, Q2 Monochrom, Leica M11-D, Leica M11-P. Then I watch your video, and you have them all 😂 So my fear of Leica is me disappearing down the rabbit hole of gear obsession, rather than improving my photography.
I’ve been shooting for eight years now, and I’ve owned the X100V since its launch-long before it became a trend. After nearly five years, it’s still my go-to for street photography. I also went through a phase with Leica cameras. I had the Q2M, M10, M262, M6, and MP. In the end, I sold all the digital Leicas and kept only the M6 and MP. When it comes to film, Leica is my obvious choice-the MP in black paint is indescribable, dopamine rush with every shutter press. For digital street photography, I know it sounds a bit crazy, but the X100V outshines all my digital Leicas. It’s truly a street miracle. I also own GR3. X100V and GR3 truly comes much handy than all digital Leicas I've ever owned. I love Leica, but Leica has never been a good digital manufacturer, it is a luxury brand. M240/262 has WB issues, M8/9 has CCD corrosion issues, M10 has slow live view and iso dial issues, M11 has freezing issues... Q is indeed more reliable but that's because it is manufactured by Panasonic. And don’t even get me started on Leica’s Wetzlar service turnaround time-the wait is nearly nine months now. In my nearly 10 years of shooting, I usually avoid talking about camera manufactures, but I can't help myself writing this under your video.
Kevin thanks so much for your valuable insight. I ordered the V upon launch too or very shortly there after. It had been up till this year, my most used camera. As for the M11 it’s been perfect for the last 9 or 10 months. Leica is clearly playing catch up with their software, but the user experience is incredible. Just like you described the MP. It’s a magical experience. Thanks again!
I grew up on rangefinders and now despise them. Love my Leica SL2 though 😀 Fuji Bros - more cultish than the other brand fans I think. That’s ok. Glad they’re having fun.
@ Oh it’s probably old age more than anything else 😀 My first “real camera” was a Zeiss rangefinder, but I became frustrated with it over time because I wanted to shoot birds and stuff, and a rangefinder not really the best vehicle for wildlife shooting. And so I saved and saved, and I was finally able to buy a Nikon SLR and an off brand long lens. I did ok with the stuff. Now it’s so funny because I have all the big gear, and I’m settling down and going back to basics again. Photographic tastes and shooting methods evolve over time, and for me that’s been a 40 yr + journey. I started shooting probably when I was ten yrs old. My uncle would take me out and we would shoot 4x5 film and a Yashica TLR. Going to a 35mm rangefinder felt like such a downgrade for me LOL 😀 especially with those “tiny” 35mm negatives 😀 I really missed the big ground glass on the 4x5 as well as the nice sized screen on the TLR. I had a Leica M8 that I had picked up for a good price because the guy was getting divorced. I loved the images (especially because the camera was a little bit leaky on the IR end) but tired of the shooting process quickly. I only kept the camera a couple of years. Like I said, tastes change, we evolve. Have a fine day😀
I went from a X100V to a Sony A7C + Zeiss Loxia 35mm f/2 and loved the combo and results. The Zeiss is a superb contrasty manual focusing lens and is full of character, with a proper manual focus ring. The manual focus ring is what captivated me, and it's something I hated using with the X100V. Later I started having more interest in film photography and bought a Nikon FM2n with 2 manual lenses. The Sony combo was starting to be left at home. The experience with shooting film with a mechanical camera with only manual exposure and manual focusing is so raw, that I felt that I was totally in control of my results. I love that, I have no more words to describe the feeling of accomplishment. Later I sold the Sony combo and bought a Nikon Df to mimic that experience, and I can also use the same manual lenses. The Nikon Df is used regularly, but when I go somewhere special, some trip or a particular "mission" I pick the FM2n. I think that what I need in my life is Leica, for the simplicity of use and no distractions. If I could, I'd pick a M11-D and a M6. But not only I can't afford it, but also I'm not sure about the switch from seeing through the lens to the rangefinder way of shooting.
That's an awesome story! I agree completely about the manually focusing lens... the focus by wire just doesn't even come close to the user experience. The full manual experience makes me feel more connected to the camera and that's what feels so good about it. Be careful if you fall into the Leica rabbit hole it's crazy deep! As for Nikon, It's the one brand I don't own. No particular reason as there are many that I'd like to have. Maybe one day they'll send me something to review on the channel lol. Thanks Jose
A used Leica SL costs a bargain these days and it supports vintage glass. This is a no brainer for those interested in starting with Leica. I absolutely recommend it
As a bit of a neutral party. As a 20 year Olympus/OMS user two years ago I decided to try a Fuji X100v just weeks before the insanity happened and you couldn’t get one. I was going to get the VI version but they went all in on communist china made. So I was done with anything further with Fuji. Then there is Leica. Well using countless Olympus bodies since the beginning of the 4/3 bodies and the m4/3 bodies they make them truly solid. Leica digital just can’t be trusted from the m8 to the m11 all of them having serious issues in their production line. The only way I would go m Leica digital for the price is if they offered a guarantee for 15 years that they have sensors and parts. Seems only fair for 10 grand and their unreliability compared to any other major camera manufacturer. At this point I would definitely go film Leica because they actually do have parts for a lifetime. Having used the Leica before and recently getting the Nikon ZF I would definitely say using manual lenses gives a superior experience on the ZF just ever so slightly for quick focusing. Just brilliant how they did it. I wish OMS would do this on their next generation of cameras.
You have a problem that has nothing to do with photography. No one has enough time to use all those cameras enough to learn how to use them effectively. Might be why, as you say, your photography sucks.
I am glad Leica exists and people still buy them. I like their Monochrome cameras, very unique and the IQ is unbelievable. However, I can do so much more with Fujifilm for the fraction of the price. Also since Voigtlander started to take steroids and produce some amazing glass I don't see a need for even looking in the direction of Leica.
Inspired by Canadian content and shot here in Toronto!!!! 🙌 If you're ever up here, u have a tour guide! What a collection!! I was gifted a Hi-Matic 7S that lead to an X100f and now a M8 that I use more than anything. Will never sell the X100f, just need to shoot it a bit more often to remind myself how much fun it is. Awesome video!
Wow! Thank you! Canada is definitely on my bucket list. So I might take you up on that someday. I agree completely, just picking them up for the video was making me want to use them. Fuji and Leica are both inspiring and fun as hell to use!
With that many options available, I'd never take pictures because I'd spend too much time trying to decide which one to use🤣🤣. Any camera nowadays gives great results - it just comes down to lens selection and user experience. Sounds like you enjoy the Leica experience above all.
Once upon a time I was robbed, so my nice Nikon camera went bye forever. Now, that did suck, but had I had a $5000 or more expensive camera I'd shoot myself in the head. We are living in a dangerous world, in which I feel much more safe with my Fujis. And with my 357, I've learned my lesson...
I shot Fuji for years. Now got my first Leica. Fuji is overall the better brand, especially considering prices. But Fuji prices are skyrocketing as well so now it’s less of a difference pricewise. Just get the camera that suits you.
I went from a Fuji XPro2 to Leica, then went all in on Leica with an M4 & M8. I don’t understand the hate. They’re not that different and the price isn’t that far apart with the demand for Fuji these days.
For a little point and shoot you have got to try the little 12 MP fujifilm X30, from the quirky method to turn it on to the the beautiful photo rendering, much better looking little zoom than the little Leica.
I had the F, sold it, then I got the V and later sold it when I got my Q2. I love the Q2, however I wish I kept the V, they are different but both really good. I don't miss the F, there was just something it didn't clicked with me. Also, NEVER selling my Q2.
I shoot Fujifilm, GFX and X100IV. I do not hate Leica. I do hate the way so many Leica users are incredibly condescending towards Fujifilm users, that issue is real.
Thanks David. I haven’t seen that myself, but I have gotten beat up about owning Leica, more than a few times. The Leica guys that I watch are very humble. I think Fuji and Leica are both awesome and anyone who thinks otherwise likely hasn’t tried one. Definitely my two favorite brands at the moment. Such a great shooting experience with both.
I use both and love both. They're both actually great! Fuji is just more advanced and easier to use. Leica makes you take your time and they are full frame. Fuji build quality is excellent but Leica build quality is OUTSTANDING! Leica needs to electronically figure out how to do range finding in an EVF so one could use M mount lenses on the Fuji. Leica is minimal while Fuji is maximal. And cheaper.
Right on! The voightlander I have on my XPro 3 is an M mount using a LM - FX adapter by K&F, Works Great. I use the focus zoom to help aid in critical focusing.
Thanks JP, I wish it was clickbait. I get hate with every Leica video. I'm sure there are many like us that love them both but there's a small army of haters out there.
When you know the x100 is a quasi Leica then theres only one way forward. Same thing with street photographer using any other brand but Leica. We all know we wantbto hate it but theirs no other option ...go figure. We all lust what we dont have. Human nature
We do tend to lust after what we don't have. There's still plenty more I have my eyes on and in no way do I need anything more or even have the time for more.
You should use the camera you feel happy with ultimately. I use Leica as it slows me down, compose and enjoy the moments of photography. Sometimes you need to slow down from the fast pass of life. Thanks for a great video. Keep them coming.
Well I’ll be perfectly honest about this silly premise as a Fuji user since the original X100 came out. I LOVE Leica cameras and all you have to do is handle one to realize how amazingly well built they are and how outstanding their optics are. But what hate is the simple fact I can’t afford them!!! There, I said it!
@@GINOxRED Thanks so much! I plan to make some videos soon. My first one might be my first impressions. Maybe this weekends video. Would it be worth watching?
@@camerafusion for me yes! I’ve come to find that there’s very little coverage on this camera compared to other cameras released this year, and this one’s been the one I’ve looked most forward to adding to my kit as a dedicated point and shoot. And the DL8 is the one I personally see as the one I wanted (after doing a lot of research of course Lol).
I don’t hate Leica. But buying a Leica digital as hobbyist is a stupid investment because it just takes a few years and they start missing parts for service. I simply can’t afford an overpriced good looking camera no longer working. The mechanical ones they can repair back to the 1930s. Leitz Wetzlar did not wanted to enter the digital age in the first place and they are never fully committed until today. Which we can see in many faults with the digital line…hilarious when they need to replace sensors… it’s their fault and some customers needed to buy a new camera because of this… this is bad quality control in buying parts…
@camerafusion Yes, although I will say, I have a fairly complex spreadsheet the functions as a gas control mechanism 😁 You may find this interesting. Currently, I have 14 "slots" in the spreadsheet, and every slot is significantly different: Two slots dedicated to digital cameras (main + a dedicated film conversion body), two movie film cameras (powered super 8 + 16mm clockwork), two mechanical TLRs (4x4+6x6), the aforementioned mechanical rangefinders (35+MF), 2 mechanical manual SLRs (35+MF), two autofocus 35mm (EOS 3 + Konica Hexar AF), a MF pinhole, a hybrid Instax. I keep a maximum of only 2 lenses for any system, but my autofocus SLR and mirrorless share lenses for a total of 4. By sharing I cover from 16mm out to 560 (400 + TC). I also use all the film lenses adapted to mirrorless. If I want something new, I buy it, and it either replaces what I have, or it doesn't. The Mamiya 645E failed to replace my Bronica recently. Before that, the M6 replaced an M5. Etc. etc. Cheers!
Wow Tony, looks like you hit some nerves with this title, thumbnail and video :D Awesome job my friend :) If I see correctly this video also pulled some new subs for you in and the comment section is more busy then usual :) I see these Leica / Fuji "hate" comments also on my videos, but I assume that's only noise we usually see on social media on the internet. I believe the majority are people like us both, coming from a Fuji system and then venture out to Leica simply because of curiousity and then appreciating the craftsmanship which Leica cameras offers. And if the Leica adventure was not of some ones taste, usually you can sell again for a minimum loss or if you bought in through used gear sometimes even able to make a profit. Nowadays people are "leaving" Sony, Canon etc. to go to Fujifilm, because they want to experience something you (retro design, film simulation etc.) For me personally it was the same move to go from Fuji to Leica (true rangefinder experience). In the end we all know there is no bad camera, independent from it's technology and age. But with heat and noise it's easier to get attention compared to a reasonable discussion :) Btw I didn't know you are able to build cameras!! I have to check that out these videos! Perhaps we should think about a small collab by talking about our Leicas, although I have recently slimmed down my collection dramatically :D
Hi Phil, you sum it up so nicely, wish I was as elegant. You're spot on with all of it! I appreciate the support and complements. You know what I'm talking about. I completely agree, it's a small minority, but I never receive hate when I post a Fuji video and do every time I post something on Leica. It's pretty much guaranteed. Glad I did with this video because you are correct. More traffic, subs and communication. Fells good if I'm honest. :) So thanks to all that are showing support! Go check out @introvertamateur
"Fuji users hate Leica." * proceeds to casually show everyone over $30,000 in Leica bodies alone purchased in the last few years * I think this video description is disingenuous. Seems more like an excuse to show off your Leica collection. And, before you say I'm a hater, the Q2 Monochrom on my desk is one of my favorite cameras of all time, and I'm currently trying to decide between an MP and a digital M. Now, in all fairness, there are a LOT of hobbies that are far more expensive than owning Leica cameras. Motorcycles (especially Harley and Indian), boating, vintage cars, owning horses, etc can all be incredibly expensive, and I would argue that a Leica camera is far safer than a motorcycle or a horse. I just remind myself of this fact every time I buy a new camera.
Thanks for your insight! It wasn't meant to be a show off my Leica collection video, but I see how that can be perceived that way. I already did that in a video called My Leica Collection 2024. But I have added a couple since then. I wonder if people would notice the cost as easily if I was showing Canon or Sony in place of Leica? The videos where I show the cameras tend to do a lot better and of course the RUclips gurus say to capitalize on that. This video really was supposed to be about the hate that Leica brings. I put up a short about possible giveaway of my new D-Lux 8 and the hate was so bad, I took it down. I'm not sure what it is about Leica, other than they're pricey, but some people really dislike them or at minimum those who have them.
I really wish RUclips has a way to block content like this from showing up. Has enough of this from other topic, I don't need this to also come up for my hobby.
Got an X100VI and a ton of pro Canon gear. For a smaller form option, the Q3 is a possibility for me but it’s way bigger than the Fuji and more obvious to third parties (security etc). I was in the Red Dot shop in London the other month and they showed me a large print from the central part of a Q2 at about 8mp. It was still impressive. Like you I have a Fuji 6x9 film and that still works. Huge images that shine with Velvia and Provia. As a friend said a few years back, if you went on a major photo expedition in the old days you’d have MF bodies, spare back with different film stock and possibly an SLR with two bodies (slide and black and white for me). Back 30 yrs ago I spend about £1k on developing and printing from a major trip to India (MF and SLR). Nowadays a Q3 and a newer iPad Pro for initial edits would save a ton of money and maybe just print top 20 images. In that scenario, even a Q3 pays for itself over say 5 trips and saves so much baggage weight. Took my Fuji to China on a tour in May then classic Spain last week, it performed superbly. Loved the film sims. I’m off to Japan and Hong Kong next year so maybe a Q3 can be justified. I’m mulling it over.
Leica is better, but it costs more money. Not really comparable. They're like comparing a Corvette to a Ferrari. You expect one to be better than the other.
@@camerafusion I can't speak on the Vette and the Ferrari honestly.... But I can on the Fuji/Leica. Having a few of both. And it's really not so much the image quality either, it's more user experience and quality. Fuji's if you're lucky will last ten years ish, But I have a couple Leicas that are older than me, and still are still perfect ( with wear marks )
we hate on people that own things we cant have. take a moment and think about it you will see Fuji owner hating on Lecia user but you wont see a Lecia owner hating on a Fuji user why? see my first sentence
Yeah, it's unfortunate that people feel that way. I grew up poor as hell, but never had jealousy of people that had more. I always had determination and believed that with work hard I'd get a piece of the pie lol. I'm sure there's a lot of people that would love to own Fuji, but can't afford them. I think it's all perspective.
@ that’s relatable, I grow up in a average family too. Not much in terms of luxuries Instead of being jealous of what other kids have and I didn’t, it just makes me determine to work so much harder to give me the life that I want P.S 3months ago, I finally became a proud Leica owner
Who not. It's more status and most of the Leica users have no concept why they want a leica. For their childeren... But Fuji users have their own leica : GFX 100 II
@@camerafusion no I even think just the colours that are raw. I shoot raw and edit with my GFX camera and the colours I get out of that are amazing. I also have an XT5 which I shoot raw on as well. I've never been a JPEG fan storage is actually relatively cheap these days so I shoot everything raw. I just like the colour straight out of the Fuji camera better. I have shot with a Lieca.... Build quality and premium fill and experience..Lieca wins handsdown, but you pay four times the price. I do like the look of the new Q4 three though that's an awesome looking camera
I guess so with the GFX being a medium format. The images out of the X2D are crazy good too. I think they use the same sensor but with different color technology. I don't edit much so I love the look and customization of Fuji's film simulations. Sometimes I edit them within the camera lol. No doubt the RAWs are the way to go but I'm just a hobbyist so my work is not that important. Thanks again for your input.
This is click bait. It’s seems you have an obsession with collecting gear as opposed to actual taking photos. Let’s face it anyone can just take photos of kids etc with their phones. No one needs this amount of gear no matter what brand, that does the same things. At the end of the day what ever floats your boat and if you can afford it without any of your family losing out on things because of your collecting hobby then fill your boots and enjoy. This video just sounds like you are trying to justify the costs of these modern day trinkets. As one knows the best camera is the one that you have with you.
Definitely love the gear as much as the photography. With that, I have dozens of other cameras that cost very little and even some homemade and I love them just as much (well... almost as much :) I love the entire process of photography. Thanks for the comment and checking the video out. Much appreciated!
Fuji shooters hate Leica shooters because Leica shooters can go to a store and buy a camera whereas Fuji shooters need to wait 6 to 8 months to get their hands on a X100 VI.
I was on the wait list for the Fuji X100vi but canceled after about 3 months. But there was a long wait for the M6 reissue when it was released and bit of a wait for the D-Lux 8 and the M11-D though very short in comparison. Thanks Nathan!
This is the 2nd comment in this video (its not, Leica…it’s Leica shooters…) It happens every time I post a video with a Leica in it, but never in a Fuji video.
Really doubt Leica hate have any correlation with people using Fuji, nor is there much reason to believe Fuji users have such strong opinions about Leica, if anything it's no secret that they _do_ want a Leica; what people actually hate is GAS (and snobs, but we don't talk about them). It's like seeing a C8 Corvette Z06 owner going out of their way to get a Lamborghini with comparable (if not worse) performance and, although subjective, may not even look that much better; really tickles your _"wow, what a waste"_ feeling inside, it's just pure and unadulterated Gear Acquisition Syndrome. Do they need it? No. May it have been their dream "gear"? Sure, it is somewhat respectable for them to get one anyway out of passion and/or luxury (getting any camera these days felt like that after all), however it can hardly be considered a wise choice by anyone but -the utterly deranged- existing Leica users. Leica _cameras_ are insanely overpriced, half of the image quality came from their quality _glass_ so anyone could just adapt them to other cameras and get something close (if not better) to a Leica camera; camera with full frame sensor if one is fussy about sensor size and keeping the lens' focal length. Fuji then comes in for the people wanting that traditional control scheme for a reasonable price, giving essentially the same (if not better) experience to what a Leica _camera_ offers. Combine an X-Pro series camera with a Leica lens and you already have 90% the _"Leica experience"_ with, give or take 40% the price, even if the lens will still be expensive at the end of the day.
@@camerafusion yes, but it wasn't very clear in the video what kind of hate Leica even got, especially from Fuji users. I'll just take your word and has to conclude about that myself, hence my comment.
Thanks for your comments. I thing Leica is making great strides in the software depart, but clearly playing catchup. I love me some Fuji, so I'm very curious what system you're on?
I think you’re projecting. It’s always Leica shooters or people with Leica lust who hate on Fujifilm and always comparing it with Leica. Range finder cameras are not unique to Leica. Almost all the major camera companies made range finders, so when people see a X100 camera and think it’s trying to be Leica, is ridiculous. Fujifilm makes totally different cameras and they never claimed to be a Leica alternative. It’s ironic that all these people buy into the Leica prestige, and think they’re so great and worth the exorbitant price, but somehow always compare them to the lowly affordable Fujis. Sounds like to me maybe some people are somehow threatened by what Fuji is doing. Maybe they don’t like that people can have cool status cameras other than Leica?
Thanks for your comment. I think they’re both amazing systems. I don’t think I’m projecting. Every time I post a video on Leica the hate comes rolling in. It’s pretty strange to be honest. That never happened when I posted videos on Fuji. I agree that rangefinder’s aren’t unique to Leica, many companies have copied them over the years. I love all cameras, the cost is not relevant to why I like them. If you watch the video in its entirety, you’ll see that I even make my own cameras by hand. I’m fascinated by the cameras themselves just as much as photography itself. Thanks again for watching and commenting. I appreciate it greatly!
I’m a Fuji user. I don’t hate Leica. I simply don’t use Leica gear. Of course there is the cost. The law of diminishing marginal returns keeps me from full frame bodies and lenses. The Leica build quality is second to none. Leica keeps their bodies simple. They don’t embrace the newest technology. For the price such a shame. Fuji seems inspired by Leica. Fuji has embraced modern technology . For me Fuji gear is fun to use in a way Leica gear isn’t. I enjoy the film simulations and the analog feel of the bodies. I can afford Leica gear. When I borrow Leica gear at store sponsored events I'm not impressed with their gear. I enjoy my Panasonic-Leica branded lens though. Many of my photography heros used Leica gear. If using Leica gear would improve the images I create I’d buy their gear. For me, the extra money required to purchase Leica gear would be better spent on classes and books. I’m glad Leica is around for those who appreciate what the Leica experience offers. I’m not one of them. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Fuji is nothing but a copy cat. The first X100 was a copy of the Leica X1 and they have taken it from there. They are good cameras, but my dislike of Fuji is because of its efforts to kill film off.
Nobody is hating on anything. Leica and Fuji serves very different purposes. Of course, there is always outliner like me who appreciate the difference and own both. You do the community no regard by spreading this made up hate speech. Maybe trying to do a different type of content?
Hate Speech... WOW! My friend, I get hate from Fuji Users on every Leica video I post. Some of which is so bad I end up deleting them. In fact, one of the first couple of comment in this video "Its not Leica, it’s Leica shooters". So, there's nothing made up about it. I bet you didn't even watch the video all the way threw and still felt the need to leave a nasty comment. SMH
DAMN, it looks like you have really fallen down the Leica hole. And I thought I was bad... I'm STILL struck by how many cameras you have. (No shade, I own too many watches..) I've never owned a Fuji x100 (or any Fuji) , but I've handled one at the B&H store. I was not impressed with the build quality, especially the dials, (compared to Leica). I think I'm already satisfied with my M11. But I was still naggingly tempted to try out the Fuji... for FOMO, because of all the YT hype, but I think you have just convinced me otherwise. I guess I don't need the Fuji, and I can stay with my Leica M11 and Q3. Maybe Fuji would actually be a step backwards, instead of forwards?
Thanks SC! I don’t think getting a Fuji would be a step backwards, more like a sidestep into a different direction. As for my camera collection, there’s more of them. That’s why I’ve gotta keep myself in check when I’m watching you watch videos. I definitely don’t need or can afford another addiction :) Thanks for the support. I appreciate it as always.
@@camerafusion Interesting... you've just now left the door slightly open for me, for the Fuji X100VI. (I was hoping you would persuade me against it 🫢). I'm not sure if I'll go through the door, but it will be at the back of my mind. Maybe as a tertiary camera, not sure. I'm not looking forward to learning a new menu/control system.
@ It was a set it and forget it camera for me but I used it all the time so it became second nature. I think that you having the Q3 should probably null and void the need for the Fuji. Just saved ya bit of change, you’re welcome 😆
Its very simple - if you can't afford a Leica you buy a Fuji - if you can afford a Leica you buy a Leica

Well said!
Absolute garbage, I can easily afford a Leica ,but I won't buy one because they are way overpriced and not value for money.
First time i hear Fuji users hates Leica. Interesting. 😀

@@Stickybutton agreed! Thanks StickyButton, love the name.
Very inexpensive, but decent quality, so far.
have both, hate them both.
lmao!

Hello from France. I have an X100V (bought long before it was fashionable), I have a D-lux8, and I had an M10-P with a 35 summicron.
My dream camera would be (for a D-lux9 or X100VII release):
- The design and compactness of the D-lux 8
- The D-lux 8's menus
- The ergonomics of the D-lux 8's knobs
- A fixed focal length of 35, like the X100V (or a choice of 28, 35 or 50)
- Built-in mini-flash, like the X100V
- Film simulations like the X100V
- Easy access to video mode (or to the like the D-lux8 more practical than the X100V)
Explanation:
When I got my x100v (replacing a sony A6600 whose form factor I liked, but whose performance I didn't), I found the X100V more of a toy, as it was bigger and less heavy (as if there were a vacuum inside).
I would have liked the Dlux 8 to offer :
- choice of focal length (24/28/35/43/50/75) with a mechanical dial, even with the camera switched off (rather than being able to choose the image ratio, for example)
- Power button like the x100V (rather than a tiny button that's both too hard to reach and too easy to press unintentionally).
- A built-in mini-flash
I wish the X100V had offered :
- Either to suppress video and thus purify the menus, or conversely to have a button dedicated to video recording (without going through the drive menu).
- A denser design, for want of a more compact APSC with an optical viewfinder (which I fully understand).
+++
Thanks for your very interesting video!
It's a beautiful shutter sound. One of the best I've heard.
Yep... that's about right! Exactly what happened to me!

I don’t hate them, love them both, if I had the budget I’d have a cabinet full of both of their gear.
Agreed! I could not have said it better myself! Thank you!
M8 and M8.2 never had a sensor corrosion issue. It was only the M9 first two sensor iterations which had a corrosion issue.
That’s how I understand it too. But, the M8 does has hot pixel issues.
I would take the M3 over the M6 all day, every day.
The M3 is a beast and definitely better built. I love them both!
I grew up on rangefinders and now despise them. Love my Leica SL2 though 😀
Fuji Bros - more cultish than the other brand fans I think. That’s ok. Glad they’re having fun.
Interesting, what made you dislike them? Rangefinders are my favorite
I absolutely recommend it
Awesome! Thanks for the advise Eduardo.
playing with cameras is fun! Not seeing any photos by any, sucks..
Thanks Jason! I've done several videos with plenty of photos but man, people do not watch them. Check them out and let me know what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks so much for the comment and your insight. Much appreciated!
Common sense not to support the offensive adversary, unlike many photogs who happily ignore geopolitics if it benefits them.
You have a problem that has nothing to do with photography. No one has enough time to use all those cameras enough to learn how to use them effectively. Might be why, as you say, your photography sucks.
Very True!
Appreciate your insight!

I think you might have a problem
Haha, Yeah I think so too.
Who cares. I want to shoot pictures; not gloat about the camera I own. This is anti-photography, this is GAS.
You didn't watch the entire video did you? I do have GAS though. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I’ve owned the X-T1, X100T, T2 and the T4. I also own a Q2 and an M6. I love them all! I don’t hate anyone! Clickbait?
Exactly!!! Thanks so much, I appreciate your comments.
I've been there! Just never say never. Thanks for commenting Paul. I appreciate it.
I would love to see some content on the Leica D-Lux 8. I want to know what your thoughts are once you spend enough time with it.
No I don't - I use both Leica and Fuji.
Same! Thanks Roger!
i had both and chose the one that I liked more. No hard feelings vis-a-vis the other brand.
Which brand did you choose?
Have two Fuji… never hated Leica.
Me too! They're both fantastic brands. My favorites at the moment.
My Xpro 3 with M adapter is used along with my M10 and Voigtlander lenses - very happy with both
2 amazing and beautiful cameras! Thanks Ian!
I've heard this statement many times, but does any camera manufacture replace sensors that are 15 years old? Real question. Thanks for your comment!
@ I expect this in this price range … maybe you are not, thats ok for me….
Love both! M4 and xpro2!
Nice! Those are both awesome camera’s that I hope to own someday. Thanks Cole!
Im quite enthusiastic about Leica. But like some others have mentioned, that's some GAS you are having.
Yeah, I've got to get it under control lol
Me, looks over at my GW680iii sitting next to my M6, "Huh?" 😅
@@jw48335 That’s what I’m talking about! 👍
So you've got the addition too I see lol
@camerafusion Yes, although I will say, I have a fairly complex spreadsheet the functions as a gas control mechanism 😁
You may find this interesting.
Etc. etc.
Cheers!
they do remapping on the M8!! in Wetzlar
Thanks again! I do plan on sending it in for repair. I love this camera!
I have both.
Cool. What model and preference?
Wow Tony, looks like you hit some nerves with this title, thumbnail and video :D Awesome job my friend :)
If I see correctly this video also pulled some new subs for you in and the comment section is more busy then usual :)
I see these Leica / Fuji "hate" comments also on my videos, but I assume that's only noise we usually see on social media on the internet.
But with heat and noise it's easier to get attention compared to a reasonable discussion :)
Btw I didn't know you are able to build cameras!!
"Fuji users hate Leica."
* proceeds to casually show everyone over $30,000 in Leica bodies alone purchased in the last few years *
I think this video description is disingenuous.
Fuji new guy on block! Seen Zeiss,Kyocera,Fuji others Come and Go!
Hey Jason, thanks so much for commenting. What are you shooting, film, digital or both?
I don't know any fuji lovers that hate Leica
I get hate with every Leica video I post. I have to delete a lot of them they’re so bad. I’ve just never understood why.
Thanks Timothy! You’re going to ruffle some feathers with that statement 😆
Do we hate leica? like I would personally love to have a leica but I am just too broke to get one.
I'm glad to see it's not all of us. lol Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have two xt3’s, one has a Leica 28mm, the other has 50mm summilux.
film leicas are worth the money, not digital
That’d be a fun setup. I’m loving my M11-P.
Quite a nice collection you have on the table.
Thank you!
If GAS was a person
Thanks for watching and commenting Tim! I definitely have GAS. I'm buying something nearly every week. Must be Late Midlife Crises lol.
Not hate I am just not rich enough for a Leica.
YET! Appreciate your comment and watching. Thank you!
we hate on people that own things we cant have. take a moment and think about it
you will see Fuji owner hating on Lecia user
but you wont see a Lecia owner hating on a Fuji user
why? see my first sentence
Not much in terms of luxuries
Instead of being jealous of what other kids have and I didn’t, it just makes me determine to work so much harder to give me the life that I want
P.S 3months ago, I finally became a proud Leica owner
X100 Veee? Do they teach you Roman numerous in your country?
ah... okay then.
Who not. It's more status and most of the Leica users have no concept why they want a leica. For their childeren... But Fuji users have their own leica : GFX 100 II
I want to take mine with me when I go. lol
Lieca build quality is amazing ....fujifilm better colours and Lieca is by no means bad
Thank you. You are referring to the Fuji film simulations?
Show us some pictures
@@cortezzz2007 next time I’ll be sure to add some more. I put several videos in the description if you’d like to check them out. Thanks
Could have bought a house instead 😅
Definitely would help towards a down payment lol. Thanks so much for watching!
Fuji hates leica? When? Click bait
Every time I post a video on Leica, the Fuji claws come out! lol
They’re my 2 favorite brands. Thought I made that clear in the video. I just never understood the hate when I post a video about Leica.
@@camerafusion yes, but it wasn't very clear in the video what kind of hate Leica even got, especially from Fuji users.
I'll just take your word and has to conclude about that myself, hence my comment.
This is worth watching. Sums up the real difference between camera brands: ruclips.net/user/shortszWvgEre2r1E
Yep!
This is definitely an epitome of G.A.S.
Indeed! Thanks so much!
No I don’t.
Cool! Thank you!
What a joke, from a Leica and Hasselblad user: Fuji cameras are trash, all of them
Ouch! I have an love all of them. Thanks Ray, appreciate you watching and commenting.
People don’t like Fuji?
I love fuji!
Leica is a disgrace regarding software, that includes their professionnal/industrial products and Fuji x-system is vastly overrated.
Thanks for your comments. I thing Leica is making great strides in the software depart, but clearly playing catchup. I love me some Fuji, so I'm very curious what system you're on?
@ Sigma foveon, it's clearly not for anything fast nor low light conditions, but no other affordable system offers such a physical rendering.

Appreciate your insight!
Fuji is nothing but a copy cat. The first X100 was a copy of the Leica X1 and they have taken it from there. They are good cameras, but my dislike of Fuji is because of its efforts to kill film off.
Hopefully film will live on. Thanks for watching and commenting.
SMH
Its not, Leica…it’s Leica shooters…
Ouch! But why?
DAMN, it looks like you have really fallen down the Leica hole. And I thought I was bad...
I'm STILL struck by how many cameras you have. (No shade, I own too many watches..)
I've never owned a Fuji x100 (or any Fuji) , but I've handled one at the B&H store.
