I made this tonight using spare ribs. It turned out great! I will add a little bit more salt to the marinade next time i make it, but that might just be my taste. Great idea with the Sichuan peppercorn in the oil, made the whole thing extra tasty!
One of the reasons I have never liked the ribs at Chinese restaurants is because they are so tough, wonderfully flavored but tough. The idea of baking and then frying is perfect. I will try the recipe this week.
I'm making this for my man today; gonna blow his socks off!, he already loves my cooking; and this will make a great impression.. you're the only one I could find with this exact recipe I was looking for! Subbed! :)
Awesome technique, Ive made these before but I learned something here, the option of adding peppercorns to the oil. I have pork spare ribs, so I gotta try this. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Mandy, I will cook this recipe. Wow, you deliver food to Ecuador, you are better than take out. When you make a delivery trip to Canada please let me know, I'd like to place an order for these salt and pepper ribs:) nice crunchy sounds. See you next time, bye.
My wife is not a great fan of ribs, at least not how I've made them before. She absolutely loves these and so do I if I can get any before she does. Great recipe thank you
Great recipe! I just love the little ribs and looks so easy too. I have a question for you... I grew up with a best friend that was from Thailand and her mom made the most wonderful food! When I would stay at their house, her mom ALWAYS asked what I would like for dinner. She made a soup that was my all time "favorite" and was just plainly called "chinese noodles". It was a clear broth soup with pieces of pork, clear noodles and green onions...that was it! But OMG, SOOO GOOD! Do you know about this soup? If so, I would LOVE to know the recipe and how to do it. I miss that soup so much. Thanks for the help! Happy Valentines Day!
Hey, thank you for watching. I am not sure what kind of noodle soup you are talking about. Do you have any picture so I can help? There are too many types of pork noodle soup in China.
Hi Mandy, no I don't have any pics. Dang it...I was hoping you would recognize it! ; ) Ya know it might have been beef pieces instead of pork, now that I think about it. I was about 11 yrs old...that was a LONG time ago. Lol I really wasn't thinking about what I was eating, all I knew was that it was DELICIOUS! I have since lost touch with them and so miss their wonderful traditional cooking. You bring that great memory back when I see all your dishes. I am hooked... I have been watching all your video's all morning! LOL I so appreciate you getting back to me. That "chinese noodle" dish was a simple soup that I guess could remind me of a "wonton" soup "broth". What is the name of the long clear noodles? Maybe I can try to replicate it using a wonton soup recipe and adding those noodles. Thanks for cooking from the heart, it really shows! Have a great Valentines Day!

Awesome Recipe! Would love to see your take on Szechuan Boiled Beef, it's one of my favorite chinese dishes ever, and I would love to know how to make it! Hope you give it a go!
Practical question - Do you reuse the oil - or discard it after a recipe like this? I use very little oil for health reasons, but these ribs look amazing! I always wonder what people do with all of their cooking oil. thanks!

Can you also share the recipe for the fried version please? For people with no oven and patience for oven cooking. 😊

Thanks for this tempting recipe! What if we make big portion is the Szechuan peppercorns going to burn before we finish frying?
probably, you can take it out when you see the peppercorn is getting black.
Souped Up Recipes Okay maybe first time I should skip it. Thank you so much Mandy. Love all of your recipes 💕😍

I cook a lot so I will reuse it for another 2-3 times. After that, I will discard it.
