Mick Jones said years ago the Kelly Hansen lineup was the "most dynamic lineup in the history of Foreigner." When I see these clips of the original Foreigner and Lou so on fire with those golden vocals. I must say SORRY MICK , I DON'T THINK SO !!
Disagree. Kelly is a fantastic replacement and possibly a better front man overall. Lou was amazing but I hate the he messes with the timing of the lyrics.
These BEST VOCAL Ever recorded.. well in the Top 10 PLATINUM! Lou Gramm had the greatest rock/ blues vocal range and style... Alot of ad-lib vocal in the end... Such control... A-1 +
I am reminded of ridin' my bike in the summer of 1978 or 79 towards my subdivision's swimming pool and as I get closer, I hear "Cold As Ice" loudly blaring from the boom box on top of the Coke machine. Every time I hear this song I am transported back to a MUCH better time. The 70s and 80s... how I miss them.
No doubt when Foreigner was in it's absolute PRIME! The vocals and instrument playing on this version is excellent. And this is way before "digital vocal coders" (aka "Autotune") and voice replicators of the modern age. This is when you actually had to sing and perform live if you wanted to succeed, and Foreigner did it perfectly here! And that keyboard player was awesome on that keyboard solo from 5:37 forward. This was the golden age of the Moog synthesizer and good bands always had an excellent MOOG player. Another band who extrapolated the MOOG to perfection was keyboardist Greg Hawkes from The Cars who was the backbone of most of The Cars' music with his excellent synthesizer playing abilities. If you go back and listen to The Cars, most of their music is highlighted by Greg's extraordinary synthesizer, organ, piano, and other keyboard instrument playing, often all at the same time!
Eso era hacer música verdadera. Sin playback, sin autotune ni ciberartificios. Se cantaba y tocaba cada nota, cada armonía y la obra entera con el Alma y el corazón 😊😊😊
da' FOREINGER who got the foreinger treatment from a partner in music ...some MIKE guy from the old world I heard.. Lou Gramm is the music master ........JUKE UP THE TRUE HERO...
Lou Gram's vocals are top tier. 🥺😍

Jones was extremely jealous of Lou.
Kelly Hansen can’t shine Lou’s shoes. Best rock vocalist ever!
Louie put his 🏀🏀's into every phrase. Keely is great but doesn't have that gritty conviction Louie has.

Let’s not forget who wrote all of those hits. Foreigner is a tribute band at this point.
