I have seen these guys three times 1977, 1994 and 2003. In 1994 I saw them in Guam, went to their Hotel on the Beach bought them all a round, talked them about their 1977 concert when they opened for Skynyrd, I got all their autographs to boot.
I remember hearing this band for the first time (almost 50 years ago). Foreigner was an incredible collection of talent and was destined for greatness.
Enjoy watching you all jamming to the music I grew up with. No auto tune you really had the talent to sing and played your own instruments. 70' and 80's music the best some of the early 90's. Awesome!!!!!!!!!
Local boy Lou Gramm from here in Rochester, NY has one of the great voices of all time in rock music. Was able to meet him a few years ago at a friend's birthday party, and after a period of some health issues, his voice seems to be as strong as ever these days. Great choice for listening!
I'm a day-one diehard Foreigner fan and I've been fortunate enough to briefly talk to Lou a handful of times over the years and he truly is a soft-spoken, down-to-earth nice guy. I literally wanted to cry when I learned about his brain tumor operation in '97 because he simply blew me away when I had second row seats for a Foreigner/REO/Frampton show in Camden, NJ the previous summer. He sounds much better now than he did during the '99, '00, and '02 Foreigner tours(saw them around twenty times over that span) but sadly he's still not what he used to be as age and health took it's toll on that incredible voice he was blessed with.
Saw Foreigner for their 1st show of their tour in '84 in Baton Rouge, La. & that tours last show in Austin, Tx.. Lou Graham's voice was actually better & stronger at the end. Guy was a machine. Incredible is the only word.
Just this summer on june 15th i had went to Missouri for my company 40 year anniversary and foreigner performed i still have the videos of them singing this song and i want to know what Love is had a blast
Freddy Mercury disagrees, Bobby Kimball disagrees, Noddy Holder disagrees, Dio disagrees, Ian Gillian disagrees, and this list goes on. I love Lou Gramm and Foreigner is one of of my favorite bands ever but calling his voice "unparalleled for the time" is pretty ridiculous.
@@ducksoff7236 Those are other types of music. I wouldn't put them as apples-to-apples with a sound like Foreigner. And calling someone ridiculous for their opinion about music is just harsh, dude. Be nicer. Be better. Peace.
@@melaniejordan1199 They are not "different types of music" LOL!! Everyone of them is classic rock act from mid 70's- early mid 80's. Besides a comment like "voice is unparalleled" is disingenuous and an outright lie. At best its just ignorant. Expand your horizons and quit judging people and giving artists some placement on some arbitrary podium. Music isn't a sport. Love how you aren't only judgmental you also think you can just tell anyone what to do. Hilarious.
Love love love that you said with these bands [Foreigner included] "it's like a buffet!" It truly is. Foreigner had a lot of amazing hits. From smooth to Cold to Urgent, to Feels Like the First Time, always about relationships. I was in my 20's when I heard their music. To me, it's classic. Thanks for your reaction to this band! :)
This is pure classic during my High School years in the late 1970s Foreigner and Journey were my two favorite bands of the late 70s to the 80s with Foreigner led by Lou Gramm and Journey led by Steve Perry two iconic male singers of the rock and roll era.
I highly recommend when you get some spare time to sit down and listen to their self-titled debut album in it's entirety...Feels like the First Time, Cold As Ice and Long Long Way From Home were the hits but the album is packed with great tunes such as Headknocker, Starrider, Damage is Done, At War With The World, I Need You, etc, etc. I was blown away the first time I heard it when it was released during my senior year of high school.
another great classic song by foreigner its like every time I hear them they have so many classic great hit songs so glad I got to see them in concert 3 times and one the times was with journey also.yes with all journey songs you can feel and hear the passion and love the harmonizing and the sounds the drums the guitar such great band.
This was one of the first songs I learned to play on piano. The one odd part in the piano part is that it has a triplet... that is where you fit 3 notes into a 2 beat section. it is in that piano riff that Jay said he liked. My piano teacher described it as the part where it sounds like your fingers trip on the keys... Dunt Dunt... Dunt Dunt... Dunt Dunt... Dunt... Da Da Dunt I think about piano lessons whenever I hear this song...
Foreigner is one of the most awesome bands of the 70's/80's..& beyond. They're still performing 2day, thankfully. Hope u review more of their hits. U guys R so cool !!
this band hit us hard. like "where have they been all our lives" hard? they set the stage with their sound that year. cant describe how that vocal track got us.
I'll never forget the first time I heard their incredible newly-released debut album when I was a senior in high school. One night I was riding around town in my buddy's VW Beetle and he plopped their cassette tape into his deck and I was simply blown away by it....Lou's incredible vocals, Mick's guitar style, the background vocals, the songwriting, etc. just captured me immediately and I became an instant HUGE fan.
Fun Fact: I live in Gates, NY about three or four miles from where Lou Gramm's childhood home is located. My next door neighbor has a son who attends the same high school that Lou attended. Lou still lives in my local area, and even though he fully retired from singing a year or so ago, he still appears at fundraising and other community events, meeting and greeting his fans and signing autographs. I have a photo of him with his John Hancock on it hanging in my den.
feels like the first time, urgent, I want to know what love is, double vison, waiting for a girl like you, along with most what's already been recommended. Foreigner is easily my 2nd favorite band. so many great songs, so many of them being hits. their amazing no matter which song it is.
Some Foreigner tracks to check out: "Feels Loke the First Time", "Double Vision", "Urgent", "Long, Long Way From Home", "Head Games" and "Blue Morning, Blue Day".
LOVE this song, love Foreigner, love your reactions. This song has always been one of my favorites since the first time I heard it. For me it's very unique and is incredibly well done. Great to listen to on headphones or a quality stereo. Thank you for the reaction, and I'm looking forward to more.
More songs to check out from the 70s - "Junior's Farm" - Paul McCartney & Wings, "Wild Eyes" - Stampeders, "Give a Little Bit" - Supertramp, "I Wanna Be Sedated" - Ramones, "Where Evil Grows" - The Poppy Family, "Bad Case of Loving You" - Robert Palmer, "Roller" - April Wine, "Clock Strikes Ten" (live version) - Cheap Trick, "World Turning" - Fleetwood Mac, "Mamma Let Him Play" - Jerry Doucette, "Some Sing, Some Dance" - Michel Pagliaro, "Dreaming" - Blondie
Now you are ready to rock n roll Foreigner's Hard knocker is a banger. I'm 60yrs old and I've been a Foreigner fan since I was 17 yrs. My favorite song is "I'm a fool for you anyways" I would love it if you could react to my favorite song.
YOU ALL SHOULD OF DONE THIS WITH THE OFFICIAL VIDEO WHERE THEY ARE PLAYING NEXT TO A TRAIN. VERY COOOOOOL VIDEO! YES, FOREIGNER DELIVERED GREAT MUSIC OVER & OVER . PERFECTION !😊😊😊😊😊
I've probably heard this song hundreds of times in my life and it wasn't until recently did I notice at the end of this song, in the background vocals, when they say the word "ice" it sounds like they are saying it as if it's for a mint gum commercial. I-i-i-c-c-c-c-c-c-c-e-e!! And it kinda of mimics the crash cymbal
was at one of their first concerts. They played the first album and at the end the singer said that they played all the songs, but they could play some over again
Headknocker, Starrider, Feels like the first time. Not sure you will understand, but this was the first 45 I ever bought. Blue Morning, You're All I am, Fool For You Anyway!!! I think you will absolutely love You're All I am.
This and a few other songs of theirs are GREAT, though my personal favorite is "Urgent". Would definitely love to see y'all react to it! Also, if you haven't already heard it, their song "I've Been Waiting for a Girl Like You" is also really good.
I don't know the intricacies of the you tube world but I would love to see you search for a high quality live performances of these songs. You two are a delight thank you. I hope your allergies get better Jay😚
If you get the chance, go see Foreigner.........they are absolutely one of the best in concert today! Please react to "Waiting for a Girl Like You".....love y'all!
They ought to be aware that they have a new singer. Lou Gramm left the band several years ago, although the current one isn't bad. I don't think there's any original members left, except for guitarist Mick Jones (not to be confused with Mick Jones of the Clash, LOL)!
On the topic of Foreigner, it just dawned on me that you haven't touched upon their colleagues in Survivor. They're forever associated with the "Rocky" movies' songs "Eye of the tiger" and "Burning heart", and also boast a plethora of other classic tunes, like "I can't hold back", "Poor man's son", "High on you", "Desperate dreams", "Across the miles" (covered by the legendary Uriah Heep - check THEM out, too!), "It's the singer not the song" and the super ballad "The search is over". Coincidentally, it was his great RUclips rendition of the latter song that landed Arnel Pineda the job as lead singer in Journey :-)
Check out 'Urgent' and 'Double Vision'. Two more great Foreigner songs. I would like you to check out a forgotten and hardly played rock band from the late 70s and early 80s called Shooting Star. Their second album 'Hang On For Yor Life' is one of those that every song is good. I would recommend the songs 'Hollywood', 'Breakout', 'Flesh and Blood', 'Hang On For Your Life' and 'She's Got Money'. Check them out, you won't be disappointed. One of my favorite bands and album.
Oh, Jordan, I almost forgot, my wife reminded me that this was Teacher Appreciation Week. So, hey, know that you're appreciated. Treat yourself to a meal of your choice at least once this week.
In the mid 90s I had a Chevy S-10 that I put a killer sound system in....after my GF at the time broke up with me, I drove by her work, blasting this song, haha!
Amber loves those drums! - I'd like to recommend a drummer to check out by the name of Junna - she does drum solos - a little off the beaten path for the channel, but you'll be blown away!
He's singing about himself, leaving the world behind to be a rock star
'Cold as Ice' is definitely my favorite track on the 'Foreigner' album!

What a privilege watch them in 77. I always dream about to have the chance to see Lou sing Starrider live in that time. Peace bro!
Had to be a top 10 night of your life. That would have been amazing!
Feels like the First Time. Urgent. Juke Box Hero ....the rabbit hole is deep.

A cousin of mine worked at a Friendly's where he and his family would come in for dinner. She said he was a really nice guy.

Don’t let go , Break it up , Say you will , Can’t wait all great songs !
What a great song. This is how Foreigner entered our lives.
Yep,first song of theirs I heard back in the summer of 1978,and what a great track to begin with. Followed by Hot Blooded later that year.
Everything on this their Debut Album was outstanding and Unique !
Two other songs with great power riffs reminiscent of "Juke Box Hero" are "At War with the World" and "Blue Monday, Blue Day". Don't miss these gems.
One of the finest songs ever... everything about it!
I have always loved this song! they have so many great songs but this is probably my favorite

This is one of those running songs. If you workout and do a lot of running listen to this for your pace.

The harmonies on this song is fire 🔥🔥🔥🥰
Flood. Of. Memories!!!

Always one of those songs that you have to turn up when you're driving 🚗 🔥🎸
