- Time for some Crimson Glory and their song Red Sharks from the Transcendence album, I have heard some Crimson Glory the masked rockers but this is my first time hearing Red Sharks, so let's dive into the official video for the song!
Crimson Glory was an American heavy metal band that formed in 1983 in Sarasota, Florida. They started in 1979 under the monikers 'Pierced Arrow', then 'Beowulf', before settling on Crimson Glory.

“Transcendence” - one of the greatest progressive metal albums ever produced.
It's a true gem! I had on tape, purchased on CD and recently purchased on vinyl as it a must have on this format.

Criminally underrated band. It's sad to see there are very few reaction videos about this great band.
Midnight is one the greatest vocalist. This is their best Album. Never got to see them live.
@FatalPies My three favorite singers are Midnight, Geoff Tate, and Jon Oliva. It is CRIMINAL how underrated/unknown to most Midnight is! Midnight reigns supreme not just because his voice was on point, even live, but the pure passion he was able to carry and share through CG and his personal material. He was put on this earth for that sole reason. R.I.P. Midnight, gone far too soon...

Drummer Dana Burnell wrote that song about the USSR. Talented lineup throughout, worked with a couple of these guys and got to see them several times. Criminally underrated is right!
They were compared to Queensryche. Progressive metal. This song rocks. One of my favorites. "Red Sharks" is about Communist Russia.
My sister lived in FL back when Crimson Glory first started out. I was lucky enough that she brought me a demo cassette about a year before their first album came out. Been into them ever since. Vastly underrated band. Did get to meet Midnights replacement Todd La 'Torre last year and talked to him about his time with CR.
Sounds like a combination of Judas Priest and Sanctuary. If they had a baby..this would be it. Great combination. Midnight was awesome at high notes. Not bad. Back in the day they would fit right in with the metal heads.
Finally someone reacts to my favorite song by Crimson Glory! You have no idea how many times I have requested this on other reaction channels and get no play.

Its one of my loved bands ever, r.i.p. midnight.his voice had a really open range , specially the high screams were insane.
I love the cryptic songwriting.The mind behind these lines Was special,i like to read between them.
Also the drums,guitar and bassline ,all work great together.still listening to this epic gem and the debut album of course.

The greatest vocalist to ever walk within our third dimensional realm. John Patrick McDonald RIP. So happy to see more people recognize this band. Transcendence stands alone in my opinion as the greatest progressive Metal album ever made. It does not get any better than “Painted Skies.”

I remember as a kid being backstage at a Crimson Glory show. My aunt was dating their manager. Looking back I imagine there aren't that many people who could say they had a chance to see a Crimson Glory show when they were 9 from the side of the stage. And how can I prove this? They had a female singer backstage helping with the vocals. I kept seeing Midnight out there hitting those highs while this lady in the back was hitting the same notes. I guess Midnight was human after all.
I friggin played the shit out of these guys back in High School. I couldn't get enough. Midnight's voice is phenomenal. The albums Crimson Glory and Transcendence are fantastic. Todd La Torre was their lead vocalist 2010 to 2013. I don't believe they put out any albums with Todd. Which is to bad. And the band is no more but that could change.

I believe Crimson Glory did wear the masks live for some time. They were dropped at the third album. I was more interested in the music than what they looked like, but I think the masks were a great theatrical 'prop' to make them stand out and garner some attention outside the faact that they also sounded awesome.

I remember these guys, and the song sounded familiar....maybe I heard it once or twice 30+ years ago? This wasn't too bad for me; I could even deal the King Diamond-ish very high register bits. I'll give it a set of horns! 🤘On the related artist tip, I thought Lizzy Borden was pretty decent back in the day (very cool that you opened for them!)...I have the Visual Lies album but haven't listened to it in eons... How about a Flashback Reaction to Me Against the World?? That might be fun.

Needs better song writing. Vocals and musicianship are good. I never liked the sound of the drums on this album. Sounds like hitting a cardboard box. Cool song title. Very visual image.
