@@jianliu9420 Thank you for the suggestion, we do however have a video titled "How to Import an Existing Wallet into Tangem With a Seed Phrase" where you can find out the process of importing a seed phrase 😊
Hi Tangem, Please respond to my question. While creating access code (or at least typing access code), is it possible to switch off internet connection or use airplane mode? Also, the seed phrase gernerated in Tangem and passphrase used in Tangem are BIP39?
Hey! You can set up an access code at the start of the set up process, and you can do it offline if you want, the access code is saved direct to the cards and not "kept somewhere" so you don't need an internet connection. And second part of the question, yes it is BIP39. Here is the article with some more info! tangem.com/en/blog/post/seed-phrase-faq/
When you import a seed phrase, after recorded on the tangem card, does it remain in the mobile app or once recorded is there no record of it in the phone storage or any other place except de tangem card ? Because if It remains somewhere on the phone (although encrypted) and if it falls into the wrong hands it could be recovered. Thanks
Absolutely not. Your private key is never accessible to anyone and everything is on your cards, never on your phone. The phone just serves as an interface to the blockchain, all assets are in the blockchain, and you can view and send your assets via the "key" that you have - your cards! Hope that helps and here is a good read for you! tangem.com/en/blog/post/how-tangem-wallet-backs-up-private-keys/
Hi! When you import your Tangem wallet into another wallet, is that done without the access code? Is the access code only for the card when using Tangem wallet? Is the minimum backup 2 cards when using the seed phrase option?
When importing a seedphrase in another wallet, the access code is not needed. The access code is there to protect your devices but the seedphrase can "override" everything. Meaning that anyone that has access to it can withdraw all your funds. To finalize the backup process, you need at least 2 cards. 1 Main and 1 backup.
Can I generate my own “brand new” seed phrase with words that I choose? Or am I forced to use a seed phrase randomly generated by Tangem? I DO NOT want a seed phrase chosen for me!! I would not have bought a Tangem wallet had I known I had to use their seed phrase! I do not have a previous hardware wallet. Should I set up a wallet somewhere else so I can choose the words in my seed phrase? If so, where would be the best option?
You can select your own verification passphrase I think. ANd the seed phrase never has to come out of your safe ever again. The problem with a human generated seed phrase, believe it or not - but the words a human comes up with to string together have a higher percentage chance of being decrypted, but the auto generated ones have a higher percentage of not being crackable - it was an interesting article i read on this. Another trick you could do is if you cant pick your own 12 word seed phrase, you could always start over a million times until you get at least a cooler mix of words. I did this and got words i like, like "pumpkin" or "kitten" and mostly eliminated dumb words like "least" and "arrange"
Hey! We use BIP39 common seedphrase standard, which makes sure that it picks "at random". We have an article about it which I will link below. Second part of your question, you can set up a brand new seedphrase (recommended, since a new seedphrase means you can eliminate the risk of prior seedphrase exposure), import an existing seedphrase, or go seedless (our preferred method). You will still have 2 or 3 cards as back up to your wallet, so you will be able to access your crypto under every scenario. Hi there! On the app's main page, you'll see a wallet icon along with the number of cards, indicating how many backup cards you have (2 or 3). If you've set up the wallet using a seed phrase, you'll also see the label "Seed phrase" next to the number of cards in the wallet. For further technical assistance, please contact our support team at the email address support@tangem.com.
Hello! We still believe the seed phrase is the biggest vulnerability in the cryptocurrency world, as having a key visibly present poses a potential risk. This topic is extensively covered in our blog: tangem.com/en/blog/post/seed-phrase-a-risky-solution/ Nevertheless, we've listened carefully to user feedback, and in response to high demand, we've launched a new version of Tangem Wallet. This version offers the option to include a seed phrase during the wallet creation process. Users can choose whether or not to include a seed phrase. If they choose not to, the wallet will be generated in the same way as our existing wallets. Our dedication to security remains strong, and this optional feature gives users more flexibility.
The seed phrase needs to be added during the card activation process. Our support team is ready to assist you with any questions you may have. Just ping them an email at support@tangem.com, and they'll get back to you ASAP.
@@tangem_officialIs "card activation" an initial once-in-a-liftetime activity or can this be done with used cards? I would like to re-setup my Tangems with a seed phrase. Also: can I import 18- and 24 word seed phrases and passphrases also or does Tangem only accept 12 word seed phrases?
Hi there! You can reset the cards to factory settings, withdraw funds beforehand, and then create the wallet again. It's important to mention that you have the flexibility to import a seed phrase comprising 12, 15, 18, 21, or 24 words. The app doesn't support the 25-word passphrase yet. So, if you bring in 24 words from that kind of seed phrase, you'll end up seeing a different wallet. Technically, it is possible to include a passphrase in the wallet, and it's scheduled to be included in April.

The seed phrase is not stored anywhere. Initially, it is generated from 12 random words, then transformed into a key, imported into the card, and stored within it. We advise users to prioritize their digital hygiene by maintaining a secure device environment, running the most up-to-date version of their mobile device's OS, and downloading apps only from official sources. Moreover, you don't need an internet connection to generate the seed phrase; thus, a phone without Wi-Fi or a SIM card can be used at this step. However, an internet connection is necessary when creating a backup to download the certificates. Even so, you can initiate the seed phrase generation on an offline device and proceed with the backup on another device that has internet access.

Tangem: Idea Request: Can you add a feature to make it so 2 or all three of your cards need to be present to authenticate a transaction? Akin to the old movies where the nuclear defense team both had to turn their key cards simultaneously to activate the missles? I can see this being especially useful for organizations where there are more than one primary account owner, or for couples who share a crypto account and want to ensure only decisions can be made together. Also, I just like the idea of the extra layer of security

Yes of course! You can both import an existing one, or create a new one. We would recommend to go seedless, but if you do go seedphrase, creating a brand new one would help minimize the chances of it being exposed somewhere else prior and therefore being at risk now.
Hi there! We have passed your request to our development team to include ICP coin in the wallet development plans. Once we have any information about adding the coin, we'll be sure to share it on our socials.
Here is the issue, why do we still need to set up a second backup card when set up a Tangem Wallet with a seed phrase? Isn't seed phrase acting as a backup? Stop been gready Tangem and focus on making the best and user friendly mobile app for your users.
Hi there! If you lose all the cards in your backup, you will lose access to your funds. Only your cards have access to the wallet. The number of cards in your set (2 or 3) is the number of copies of your private key that exist in the world. This is why we recommend keeping your cards in different places. If one card is lost/stolen, you can buy a new set of cards and transfer the funds to it.
Keep one card with your valuables, one with your wife's valuables, and one at your mom and dad's house. You should never have to worry about losing all three cards unless you put all three in the same place like a dummy.
Without a seed phrase, there is no way of ever recovering your funds/crypto. That is why the seed phrase feature is loved by many people. I personally bought a tangem wallet because of the seed phrase feature. If it didn't have the seed phrase option, I would have gone with a different wallet. I enjoy the sleek design and the app.
Hey, Our wallets come in pack of either 2 or 3 incase you lose one device. A seedphrase is also a single point of failure incase someone finds it. But here at Tangem, we want to make everyone happy. This is why we decided to give the option of either going seedless or having your seed. Glad you like it 🙌
Hi there! We've introduced an optional seed phrase in our new product based on the significant demand from our users. Nevertheless, we genuinely understand and share concerns about the vulnerabilities associated with seed phrases in the crypto world. While we provide the option, we still strongly advise creating a wallet without it for enhanced security. Your safety and confidence in our product are our top priorities.

Another issue is that there is not option enter the access code on the card itself, instead we need to enter it on the mobile app, which is not comparatively secure
Do you mean entering the seed phrase? If yes, as mentioned earlier, the import and generation of the seed phrase can be done offline, without an internet connection. In addition, when using the official Tangem app, the risk of the app being compromised is eliminated. We advise users to prioritize their digital hygiene by maintaining a secure device environment, running the most up-to-date version of their mobile device's OS, and downloading apps only from official sources.
I created a wallet with cards, why doesn't the seed phase show? , I want to store my seed phase.

How to know the seed phrase? I forgot to write it down
Hey there!
After the setup process, there are no way of revealing the seed.
What you can do is empty your wallet, reset it and set it up again without forgetting to write it down.
@tangem_official i remember i did skip the seed phrase. Is there a way to go there for me to know it?
@@federicodiaz4210 Hi,
Not after the setup process.
And how can we add a passphrase?

I was unable to use your trade function to convert USDC into coins and tokens whereas I was able to convert them from tokens back into USDC / USDT. Fees are exorbitantly high too just FYI.

Hey! While I understand where you're coming from, it would pose a significant issue if say you lost one of these cards, how would one be able to authenticate in that case? But I've passed on the idea to our product team, thanks for the idea! Thanks - Ana from Community Team
@@tangem_official Just add +2 cards to however number of authenticating cards you need? 3 validating cards + 2 safety cards?
will this work with the ones i got from XRP?
If you refer to Xaman, Tangem is providing Xaman with a technological solution. While our company developed the cards for Xaman, direct assistance with the cards and their app is exclusively offered by Xaman. For inquiries regarding the cards, please contact Xaman support
Can we make our own seed phrase?
Yes of course! You can both import an existing one, or create a new one. We would recommend to go seedless, but if you do go seedphrase, creating a brand new one would help minimize the chances of it being exposed somewhere else prior and therefore being at risk now.
@@tangem_officialcan we choose our own words for the seed phrase?
Hello! Unfortunately, that opportunity is not available.
Hi Tangem! Can you guys please add Electroneum (ETN) and Casper (CSPR) to your wallet? 😊
Passed on to the team!
Please add Icp to the wallets 🙏🏻
The seed phrase can't replace this backup because users can opt for a seedless wallet, our recommended choice.
If i lose my cards and have no seed phrase ,have i lost my crypto forever, please someone tell me
Hey,
Our wallets come in pack of either 2 or 3 incase you lose one device.
A seedphrase is also a single point of failure incase someone finds it.
But here at Tangem, we want to make everyone happy. This is why we decided to give the option of either going seedless or having your seed.
Glad you like it 🙌
Это все понятно. Не понятно только зачем создавать эту сид фразу, если ваша фишка всегда была в ее отсутствии на ваших кошельках.
Don’t need seed phrases because risk unsafe. Want only card key !
Completely agree with you! Going seedless means you are completely eliminating the risk of seedphrase exposure. Seedless is the way!
What ably if you loose your phone you will need it
Not a happy camper can’t even get past the set up phase like I have a bad batch or something literally just got these in the mail 🤦🏾♂️
